The Grill at Forty 1 North
Great Food and service
Great dinner, New Years eve without the mass service menu and not rushed. Great service and the Beef Wellington i had was the special and it was unbelievable
Food was excellent. The atmosphere was buzzing and fun. Great bar and bartenders . Also provided a dessert on the house, just because . Would definitely return .
We had a great dinner at The Grill at Forty 1 North. The food was outstanding, as was the service. I had the grey sole; my husband had the beef Wellington. They could not have been more of a contrast, delicate vs. hearty, but both were beautifully prepared. Our server was gracious and knowledgeable. The wine list was excellent, and the restaurant's decor is lovely. The only thing to note is that the dining room was quite noisy. That was possibly because it was New Years Eve and everyone was having a good time, but it did make it a little difficult to hear the specials.
Overall, it was an excellent meal, and I would definitely come again.
New Year’s Eve! We had a fantastic dinner - loved the Beef Wellington!
The food was delicious although overpriced, the place is beautiful. However, the service was pretty poor. We didn’t order alcohol and proceeded to pretty much be ignored after our order was placed. Had to get a refill of my drink from the bar because our server disappeared for most of the time we were there. The service made it not worth the investment. Wouldn’t go back.
Relaxing and sensual
Very good food
Service slow considering the room was 1/2 empty. Very noisy!
My husband and I had a 3:00 reservation on Christmas day. The restaurant was not crowded, the view was beautiful, the service was great and the food was outstanding! Everything from the crab cake appetizer, filet mignon that you could almost cut with your fork, baked sweet potatoes and chocolate mousse for dessert was absolutely delicious! The Cosmopolitans were the best I've ever had...you can't have just one! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice atmosphere. Also a nice bar where you can cozy up with a drink by the fire.
It was Christmas Eve dinner. The seven fish appetizer was outstanding. Everything was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
41 North has never disappointed to deliver. New management will take them to an even higher level. Best kept secret in anewport
Good service, excellent location, good wine at a good price but overall, food uninspiring not a good value.
It was an annual Christmas get together with good friends in Newport. The setting was lovely, and we requested a private room. At arrival the service was a little slow but the manager was extremely accommodating....he sent us two beautiful charcuterie boards for the table which were delicious, this because we had to wait a bit to be served our drinks. He certainly righted the situation and we were grateful. Good manager!!
We would definitely return to The Grill at Forty 1 North.
Excellent food and service. The NY strip was perfectly cooked and the cocktails were great.
Very romantic ambience, highly recommend for a date night!
Love everything about Forty 1 North. We had an awesome dinner and celebration!
We were treated to the private wine room. This was great as the restaurant was extremely busy as well as noisy. They charge to $20 to park so you are better off parking across the street for $10.
The food portions are similar to tapas but the prices are definitely Newport. Everything we ordered was excellent, from seafood to steak. They were running a 1/2 for any bottle of wine so we enjoyed a very nice Caymus cab.
The service was excellent and restaurant is exquisite.
It was very nice as family dinner. Service was good.
Went for breakfast and food was good but very expensive. Paying for the view. 3 people, no alcohol, was over $100.
Excellent food, good cocktails and the best view in Newport
First time I have ever written a review of any restaurant. We recently had lunch here. It happened to be restaurant week. We chose from the restaurant week menu which was extremely limited compared to the other Newport restaurants participating. I chose pumpkin risotto which was good but comprised of about about 1/2 cup of risotto. Another person in my party had a smoked chicken sandwich which ended up being deli meat with barely cooked French Fries. Beautiful view from the restaurant but very little ambiance. There were 8 people in the restaurant and the service was extremely slow. Very disappointing!
We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was great! Absolutely beautiful space, on the water, and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend for an upscale Newport dinner!
We got engaged earlier in the day and the staff at the Grill at Forty 1 North made the evening so special! They even brought out congratulations dessert!
Once again, 41 N has delivered commensurate with a top tier restaurant. Despite the fact that we dined on a "restaurant week" menu which are often less that exciting, everything was of the highest quality and absolutely wonderful. Keep up the good work because your quickly becoming our "special event" place in Newport!!
Food was amazing. Our server was excellent, did a fantastic job in suggesting choices for us. Ambiance was warm and cozy. It's a Newport favorite of ours.
Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous water views and excellent food. The service was weird, seemed like the hostess was suddenly asked to waitress this day. There were only 3 groups at this time and we were all seated right next to each other despite having plenty of space available. She disappeared for long periods of time. Our plates were cleared and 10 minutes went by before we had to ask the bartender to find her for our check. Again, it’s a fantastic restaurant just needs some service training.
Really great food and service in a beautiful setting. Bartenders are also great, making a Sazerac the right way. Food and drinks are pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Excellent food and great service
The food, service, and overall experience spectacular. They outdid themselves and helped us celebrate a special event. Joe took care of everything as well as the rest of the wait staff. The food was amazing. The views the best on the harbor.
My husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. We raved about the food and loved the ambiance. The chef was even kind enough to fulfill our dessert request. However, we felt service from our waitress was lacking a bit. She seemed scattered and not accessible. We would go back for the food and can't wait to sit outside!
The steak was the best I’ve had in Rhode Island ALL YEAR! The manager, Mathew, was sensitive to my friend’s need, and our waitress, Michelle was a joy to visit with. We weren’t hurried and all the food was delicious. My one complaint is the $30 parking fee! I would think the local restaurants want to encourage the residents to come in the off-season of Newport to help support the restaurant thru the slower winter months.
Great food. Poor service.
Food was spectacular, service was good.
Excellent environment, quality food, decent service. A beautiful place for a fall sunset while having a romantic evening!!
Top three food restaurant I ever have in my whole life. Amazing!
Best dinner we have ever had!
We enjoyed it immensely!
Wonderful evening on the dock. Great service, great food and a spectacular sunset!
We had a reservation and showed up earlier than our reservation. We expected to wait and planned on sitting at the bar, until we saw about 10-12 empty tables. The hostess said she could not seat us and to come back at our reservation time. We sat at the bar and saw none of the tables fill, so about 10 minutes before our reservation time we asked if we could be seated since we have been waiting 20 minutes and no tables were filling. The woman told us she will not seat us before our time and to come back in 10 minutes. Luckily, when we eventually sat down we had a nice waitress. The food was good, not many options for someone who does not like seafood but thats ok. I’d probably come here for lunch, its kind of casual for dinner.
