Amazing food (as everyone knows, the Duck Fat Fries are over the top!). Great service! We were a little disappointed in the ambiance. The guitarist was amazing, but didn't work in such a small room. Limited conversation and even explanations of the menu. Still, one of the best fine dining restaurants in Omaha!
Absolutely excellent from the greeting at the door through a phenomenal dinner & drinks & delicious cookies on the way out! Alway a fabulous experience! Thank you❤️
This restaurant was one of the best I have ever been to!
Was not expecting fixed menu with highly limited choices. Did not like any of the very few choices. Very expensive for quality. Donut for desert. Really?
We have dined at The Grey Plume a number of times over the years and found it wonderful. However, the 2020 Valentine prix fixe dinner was disappointing. The courses were so rich that we were unable to enjoy all of the third or fourth courses. To have as dessert the Duck Fat Donut seemed particularly outrageously rich after the very rich second and third courses. Then, the bill. We have paid less at Michelin Star rated restaurants where every bite was an "Ahhh" moment. This was not. Even at a 20% discount from the last Michelin 3-Star at which we dined was not worth the expense. It just wasn't that good.
Honestly, we are unsure of spending the 2 hours round trip to dine again.
Greg Plume is usually one of the best restaurants in Omaha; however, it was not on Valentines Day.
My wife’s fish was over cooked, my steak tasteless, and the vegetables a mushy mess. My wife had the wine pairing but coordinating it with each serving proved problematic.
One of the people next to us returned their entree as well (we didn’t go to the trouble).
I think the restaurant had difficulty executing the set menu for this special occasion evening. With tip, just under $400 for a below average meal (for 2) doesn’t cut it!
That said, we’ll be back to order off the normal menu. Hopefully, this was just a VERY off night.
Great place to either be adventurous or try Something you know you love. It is a wonderful restaurant with lots of options. Women don’t let them pick something for you. The charcuterie board is absolutely exquisite.
Overall, the experience bordered on terrible. Our primary server was great and attentive, but the rest of the service was terribly slow. We showed up 15 min early and we were greeted and invited to sit at the bar for a drink. After 10 min at the bar we finally received a drink menu, but then never had a chance to order. The bartender was terribly slow. I gave up on the bar and we were seated and ordered drinks which were received eventually during dinner. It took 2 and a half hours to eat 5 courses. It was a painful experience and made the food unenjoyable. The courses themselves were hit and miss along with wine pairings that didn't work for me, but having it take so long I felt nauseated and couldn't eat by the end of the meal. It was terrible and not worth the time and 20% automatically added gratuity.
The experience we had at the Grey Plume was excellent. We have been wanting to check it out for a month or so. The food was amazing and the portions were actually perfect. Our server was very attentive and knew the menu well.
Very classy place that We look forward to dining at again.
Thank you Grey Plume
A cooking class held at same time burned grease and made dining room and clothes wreak. Added 20 per cent tip automatically. Food was good but limited menu and not good value
There were five of us, and we ate family style - we ordered several dishes and split them. The staff was great at accommodating us in doing that. The food was amazing. The ambiance was lovely.
The food was amazing, and the service was fantastic. Not a single complaint.
We ordered a tasting menu and wine to go with. One course was too salty to have more than a bite or two. Dessert seemed overdone and mismatched. The wine pairings were sensible, but our wine server forgot to bring one of our pairings. Our food server was excellent, helpful, and responsive. In an otherwise empty room, another couple was seated at the next table over and it was hard not to trip over their conversation. The art was thoughtfully chosen and interesting. We left with shortbread cookies that tasted like they’d been made with duck fat instead of butter and I think it was a disappointing step too far.
Food is always amazing will always go back. Food melts in your mouth
Amazing food-wonderful service- romantic evening
first impression, space and time for our party to feel comfortable and accustom ourselves to the personal service and the beautiful plates and for us to listen to each other and enjoy our moment in time. we liked the distinctive cheeses on the cheese plate, our wine, beer and non alcoholic beer. all were served with grace and no hurry. each plate tasted according to our expectations and exceedingly so.
Amazing, five of us and everyone loved every course. All fully explained and beautifully served. Grey Plume is always a memorable experience.
Yes on the recommendation--but definitely not for the proletariat (although they would undoubtedly love the meal if paid by others).
Service seemed a bit sketchy/antsy, not the subtle expectation. We have been going occasionally since opening weekend and had some really wonderful times and some disappointments.
Inconsistency prevents me from rating outstanding.
Food was very good a little over priced. Plus they added an additional 20% tip for the chefs and they gave you a pamphlet to read the reasoning behind. We had to tip the waiter separately. Had never seen that before. Ambiance and service was good.
We sat at the table in the bar area, and it was perfect. The food was amazing! Tessa did a wonderful job!
This is our favorite restaurant in Omaha. We originally lived in New York and this was the restaurant that brings us memories of the food.
Food was unbeatable. Service and ambiance were both great. We would absolutely recommend Grey Plume to anyone willing to spend the money for an unrivaled meal. This made our anniversary date night!
Our server was very good, but we were disappointed with everything else. It was our anniversary; that said, we were probably one of the first reservations/tables in the restaurant. Everything came slow, lukewarm-to-cold or not at all (we ordered a second bottle of wine that set on a buffet behind us for a good 15 minutes/well after we finished our entrees). There is a high-level to attn to detail (we were greeted with a “happy anniversary” and there was a card for us at the table), but the basics are lacking and the two of us were automatically charged a 20% gratuity, when we would have left that or more. I love spots like these, and hope for them to be “special.” We had high hopes for the experience, but for the cost and experience, it was a major let down. Unfortunately we will not be returning, nor will we recommend it (sigh).
Overall an outstanding dining experience.
Food is a bit too salty and the pasta needs to be cooked longer. The cocktail are lovely.
The dinner and service were excellent, however the atmosphere was not. When we arrived as a party of two we were seated directly next to a table with a loud baby, even though most of the restaurant was empty.
The food was amazing on the tasting menu until we got to the main course. The pheasant was very gamy. It was also very overdone and burnt. And it seemed as though they tried to cover all that up with 2 lbs of salt. Not worth a $250 night out...
Nothing to add. I have been in this restaurant many times since they opened a few years ago...always first class.
Glad I tried the grey plume but am not eager to return. I like the restaurant but it was only ok.
Food, service, and the setting is very good. Not too fancy and not too casual but just right.......... We had a great time there and will definitely be back when in Omaha again.
Such a wonderful experience. Thought goes into every drink, appetizer, meal, dessert, and even every piece of décor. The mood was perfect. The food was delicious and thought out. All of the food was locally sourced. All the ingredients high quality. Taste was spectacular. I'll be back soon.
Fairly limited menu, but everything we tried was fantastic! The duck fat fries with the cheese curds are a must and the pork tasting were our favorites.
The best fine dining restaurant in Nebraska... Hands down! Having local foods on the menu is a huge and fun dining experience plus!
Had an incredible 50th birthday dinner at the Gray Plume. My server Patty was phenomenal! Bonus was we had the same birthday.
The food was spectacular as always. A shout out to the bar tender for mixing me a mocktail that knocked my socks off.
Thank you for a memorable evening!!
Went for my birthday.. way too expensive !! Probably won’t go back..
Food was very good and so was Xander (sp?). Expensive as I feel I could get better dishes for the same price in bigger cities. Still, nothing else in Omaha really compares. FYI, almost impossible to get a 5 star review from me unless you have a Michelin star.
Excellent food and service. Come hungry.
My Husband and I celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Grey Plume.
The Grey Plume was perfect. 2nd year in a row for celebrating our anniversary and we’ll absolutely be back again next year if not again sooner. The best restaurant in Nebraska.
Food was superb, very talented chef. Excellent service.
