The Grapevine Ratings and Reviews
I come here often for dinner and find the service is always spot on. The staff is very attentive did not have any wait time for seating. The place was busy, fortunately I made a reservation so we got our table upon our arrival. Excellent food and the Seafood Lasagna special was excellent. If you are hungry, you will find the portions generous, and if you are a light eater, then you will likely take some home. We had Calamari as an appetizer and it was to my liking. We had their Greek salad but did not have any desert in spite of the temptation of the array of many excellent deserts. In retrospect, we should have taken the baklava home with us. Overall this is one of my top 10 places to go for dinner when my wife and I just want to have a casual evening out. Prices are very reasonable and atmosphere is charming with a nice touch of Italian and Greek décor.
An awesome experience at a well managed family owned establishment. Went here with my wife for an early Valentines Day dinner. Excellent service from everyone of the staff members, including the owner who made sure we were taken care of from the moment we walked in until we left even though it was super busy. Food was amazing and I am happy to say I loved the Caesar salad (I’ve actually never left a review on salad before but this was very fresh and delicious)...both Greek and Italian dishes were hot & delicious (gyro platter and Baked Veal Cannelloni). Highly recommend!
All the dishes we had were delicious, and portions were large but not gargantuan. The standout feature was the friendly, warm, impeccable service. In addition to our attentive waiter, at least two other staff members came over to ensure our meal was satisfactory, including a manager. The 'vibe' was casual, warm and family-friendly. Very upbeat atmosphere! Lovely dinner.
The Grapevine has been open for a long time, therefore I suppose it has a loyal following since it was full. The service and attention were very good. The atmosphere is family oriented and relaxed. They start with large white non discreet rolls and olive oil with seasonings. The appetizer "special" consisted of a large grouping of heavily breaded fried eggplant strips loaded with the frying oil. A salad or soup came with the entrees. Basically a filler of plain lettuce. My "special" entree had 5 medium sized shrimp, nicely flavored, swimming in butter. A lump of pasta was sitting next to the dish. My wife's moussaka was bland and we used the marinara sauce from the eggplant dish to supplement the flavor. I tasted the baklava which was doughy and under cooked. Basically a nice neighborhood Greek/Italian restaurant, but not suggested for very special occasions.
This is a fantastic restaurant. I've been here several times after work as a group. The service is impeccable and I simply love the down home feeling the staff conveys! I've also enjoyed it as a night out, it's cozy, and I like the bar area which is great for a cocktail before dinner. The food is wonderful. The desserts look awesome, unfortunately I'm always to full to try one. Grapevine never disappoints, great food, excellent service, good atmosphere!
Chose this restaurant for an after church lunch for a meal with our son-in-law whose family was out of town. Like having opportunity to mix choices from both Greek and Italian offerings. Have dined here on multiple occasions and the noise level, attention to customer comfort, and food quality and quantity have always been good. Today was no exception as each diner was pleased with their food choice and the serving staff. No complaints, satisfactory food and drinks, will be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Richmond Metro area. The food and service are always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. On this occasion we had a variety of baked manicotti and seafood specialties. The wine selections were adequate and the deserts were all excellent. The service was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. Very good feedback from our guests about the meal and the location.
We had a combination of Greek appetizers and Italian dinner - fun to able to do at a single restaurant! The saganaki flaming cheese was wonderful - good show and very tasty with the addition of fresh lemon and pita bread. I was a bit less excited about the veal piccata because the capellini was gooey and not very appetizing. I would go back and try another Italian dish because business was good for this restaurant and it is worth another try.
