The food was wonderful, the service excellent. It was a great end of a ski day!
awesome mountain views, large outdoor porch with fire pits, the building is beautiful with outstanding finish work, wood beams, etc. The food was awesome, if you want bison, elk or buffalo along with the usual - this is the place. Yes, it is pricey.
OT was the best waiter. Very attentive without hovering. Great sense of humor.
Probably the best dinner I’ve ever had. The service was phenomenal and the food was elevated to say the least. Johnny our server had fantastic suggestions regarding the menu and wine pairing. The cauliflower truffle soup was unreal. My wife had the filet which was amazing. I had the fish of the day which was exceptionally well prepared. Finally I highly recommend the trio of homemade sorbet (mango was ridiculous)! All in all, great experience. A little pricey but you definitely are getting what you pay for!
We had such a lovely evening celebrating my birthday. Jonny took such great care of us. Will definitely return!
the food is good, not phenomenal, the wait staff is good, the value for your dollar is lacking. 62 dollars for 1.5 ounces of elk. it was good, we went to goldener hirsch for appetizers after as we were all hungry . nicely decorated, feels very ski lodge which is perfect for mid mountain dining.
Ya know, we love this restaurant. It's one of our favorites and this past experience will in no way, shape, or form deter us from returning; however everything just fell flat and seemed a bit lazy and disorganized this last visit.
I realize that in the grand scheme of life our critiques of the evening are not a big deal at all and may even sound petty to some readers. But when you're paying nearly top dollar for food and service and you're used to an always consistent and lovely meal, it's a bummer when it underwhelms, especially when it wasn't crowded that night in the dining room.
In no specific order:
-The appetizer and salads came out at the same time after requesting to start with the appetizer. We had to reach over our salad plates to get to the appetizer and it all felt crowded, rushed, and poorly orchestrated.
-No one refilled our wine glasses after multiple servers and the sommelier passed by our table many times. Same with our bottled water.
-The Farmer Jones salad was literally just 2 blocks of romaine, that were actually partially wilted, and a drizzle of dressing that wasn't enough to dress one leaf. This is usually great!
-The Poulet Rouge Chicken was extremely salty, the carrots were so undercooked you couldn't even stab them with a fork and it actually hurt someone in our party's TMJ when they tried to bite into it. (I wish I were being dramatic but this actually occurred). It all just felt lazy and last minute... and tasted like airplane food because of the amount of sodium in the dish.
Again, we LOVE this restaurant and we will come back and I feel uncomfortable about leaving this review but I think you guys should know.
So, what happened here? We all left a little bummed out and more confused than upset.
This place just plain sucked service was terrible, food was not good. I believe the restaurant was very short staffed I can’t believe it’s always this bad.

We had a superb experience here for our wedding anniversary, attentive staff without being over the top. We were at the early seating so a few kids around but still a lovely atmosphere. The food was just amazing.
I was not pleased with our food, service, or atmosphere. The food was bland at best and overpriced. The service was just okay, and the atmosphere was nothing special. My date and I were very disappointed.
Despite an extraordinary performance by the chefs, the service was so remarkably inattentive to this single diner to be insulting, and certainly not worth the expense.
Served inedible piece of meat, got two other members of party’s orders wrong. Not great.
We LOVE this restaurant. Everything about it is excellent. The view, the service, the food, the wine, and just a great all around place to dine. This is our favorite restaurant in the Deer Valley resort area. The sommelier Ashley is outstanding.
We know the skier buffet very well and love it. The dinner was ‘ok’. Had Hawaiian snapper. Over cooked and fishy smelling. Sauce was good. Steak was fine. Nothing special. I really wanted to love it cause of the awesome skier buffet.
Upscale mountain lodge theme that screams mountain lodge decor everywhere. Overkill for me. Food and service is very very good. A bit of an annoyance walking from valet/parking to the restaurant. The lodge is old and was not laid out very well when planned. In my opinion it is ranked so high because of how long its been around. If you want to feel important with excellent service and food in a quiet stuffy mountain lodge setting then I highly recommend.
I thought this place was going to be the five star rating that I read about, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The food isn't great- not a lot of flavor. My "medium" steak was beyond rare, the soup lacked flavor and was relatively bland, and the salad was not good.
The dessert was fantastic.
Be prepared for your views to be of construction equipment at this time. They are re-doing the deck and the materials are everywhere.
Food and service were amazing.
