Had a nice dinner with my son with good food and always great service from Susan our waitress. It would of been even better but that night there was a very loud bunch of people singing loudly to the music, using fowl language and just overall obnoxious. I was surprised that the management didn’t say anything to them. It was very obvious that all the customers were well aware of them. Not a usual occurrence for the Gingerman, we will still go back.

Been around for a long team. All of its is very comfortable; food, atmosphere, service. Don't recommend going Saturday night prime time.
we were three and had a wonderful table in the back room, which was quieter, on a Saturday night at 6:45. We all enjoyed the food, service was professional. We'd go back again.
Food and service were very good The problem was the noise. It would be smart and profitable to offer a quiet section, perhaps upstairs, and let the public know it can be chosen
We met family there and got a corner table upstairs with a comfy bench on one side, next to the window. We loved it! The Ginger Man came recommended to us by a friend who lives within walking distance of Greenwich Ave and knows most of the restaurants there. The food was delicious, service was friendly, our water was refreshed often and we weren't rushed at all.
Will definitely go back.
Hadn't been there for a long time. Went one of the recent extremely cold evenings over New Year's weekend. Sorta chose the place by default. Was presently surprised on the good bar, comfort food . Oysters $20 a dozen. Place was busy. Drawback: music very loud. Hard to have a conversation at the table.
I have fonder memories of the Ginger Man on the Upper East Side (Lex Ave in the 70s, I think?) - where I'd regularly run into a young rising TV star named...Matt Lauer - than this restaurant. The food is good, the service is fine, and I will doubtless return when I'm in the neighborhood, but by 7 pm several of the posted specials were already out, along with several beers on tap. Just annoying. The Greenwich restaurant's ambience is warehouse-y, no charm. The hostess was also a little brusque and dismissive. A final, long-standing Ginger Man pet peeve: serving a burger on an English muffin sounds like a thing, but it simply doesn't work if you plan on eating your burger with your hands.
Food was bad and not tasty
Gingerman is our go to spot for lunch or dinner. There fireplace room is cozy and warm. The service is always good with good size meals. The extensive beer selection is excellent. Good casual dining at top of Greenwich Avenue.
Kind of a perfect experience: Sitting near the fireplace in the back room (although the upstairs dining is lovely too) with a menu so tempting we struggled to narrow down our order. We actually started with fried calamari, house-made hummus dish and SUPER spicy guacamole. I'm glad we waited to put in the main order, because I ended up splitting a cod special with my husband and our friends loved their food and had leftovers to take home.
The desserts looked amazing, but we were so stuffed.
It is SO cozy and charming with a very vibrant scene. Service was great. Definitely going back.
Totally annoyed and disappointed. From the hostess, bus boy to the waiter-- we were ignored, kept waiting and treated with total disinterest. When our food was served, only some of the order came. When we asked where the rest was we were told "it's coming". No one came and asked if we needed anything at any time. We finally got up to get a candle for the table because that request was ignored too. At the end the waiter tried to hand us dessert menus. We said no and got the check. We will never go back again. Not worth the trouble at all.
Amazing great food
I love this place.
Very good service and food as usual. Nice selection and tasteful Christmas decorations at this time of year. Definitely recommended.
