The Ginger Man
The Ginger Man’s menu accommodates people of all ages with everything from grilled cheese to entrée-sized salads and two to three fish selections daily. The restaurant still uses a real butcher from the New York City marketplace to hand pick its steaks and blend that special mix for its famous burgers.
The Ginger Man features 23 taps, 80+ bottles and a well chosen wine list from small and large Vineyards around the world. The Ginger Man’s burgers and beers were voted “best burger” and “best beer selection.”

The Ginger Man is a wonderful pub/bistro in Greenwich with great food and pretty good service. The burgers are great, drinks are terrific, outdoor and indoor dining choices and overall we love it. One suggestion would be to have all employees super clear on allergies. I called to ask about whether they cook with peanut oil and immediately the gentlemen said no, but I could tell he wasn't sure. I asked him to please check with the chef and when he came back on the phone he definitely said, "Yes we cook with peanut oil. It's a combination of vegetable and soybean oil." That's a quote. I explained to him politely that those are not peanut oil, then he said, "No, we don't cook with peanut oil." Not trying to cause an issue , but rather help solve a problem. With all the struggles that hospitality is going through, just a suggestion to mgmt to have stuff thoroughly briefed on issues like this and how to attend to them so they can attract as many diners as possible.
Everyone else was sitting outside so we were basically inside alone. It was kind of nice.
Wait staff was great. All in all a lovely evening.
Food was awful.
Servers and hostess were very nice.
This a “go to place” for us for everyday dining. Usually we would give every category an excellent but this time just very good.
My wife’s steak salad was not the way it used to be as the steak was tough and she suspects a cheaper cut of beef. Service was okay but again not quite up to our usual experience. Maybe either staff shortage or new? Waiter forgot to return my credit card until reminded.
We will be back and expect things will have gotten back to normal but won’t order steak salad again.
Great brunch spot out front. Waitress, food and staff exceptional
The Ginger Man is a Greenwich standard. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is consistently great. The bar area is beautiful as well. This is the Connecticut version of CHEERS, except with an awesome menu. Try the fish & chips, and you'll dream about it.
Great burger and salad. We sat in outdoor dining on Greenwich Ave. was very nice
Excellent service and great food. Always a favorite!
We ate outside. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my elderly guest.
We sat on the outdoor patio which we prefer during COVID. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. The food was quite good and moderately priced. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Great spot, good food prices right. Had fish and chips -‘delicious. Indoor seating was noisy
We always enjoy a visit to the Ginger man when we're in Greenwich.
A nice selection of draft beers, and a casual place to just unwind. In Winter the fire-placed dining area is a treat.
Good quality with great service.
They need to offer entre options for vegetarians.
Convenient and well located
Making a reservation was easy. We were seated promptly and the staff was courteous.
Meals were great and moderately priced.
Made for a wonderful anniversary dinner.😎
The food was excellent and reasonably priced!
Brunch was delicious and service was amazing! Highly recommend the chocolate french toast, bellinis and burgers. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was fantastic!
I have been to the ginger man many times and always enjoy the food immensely. The staff is friendly and attentive.
I showed up to the restaurant and was informed that they had an “issue with food delivery,” and the kitchen was closed. They said they could seat us, but they had nothing but water and guacamole. Why couldn’t they have called me in advance to let me know? My phone number was on this reservation. Terrible service, unprofessional waiting staff. What kind of restaurant runs out of food? I will never be coming back here again, and I will be informing my friends to avoid this place.
Used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town - seems like covid has taken its toll a
Food good but menu very limited.
This is the only regular restaurant my family visits in Greenwich for years now and is also a good choice for late night snacks. Food is very good; Bavarian pretzel, turkey burger with sautéed onions, fries, CT beer.
Lunch was very good . The beet salad was spot on. The burger was very juicy. One of the best burgers I have had. Staff was friendly and attentive. Great local choice for lunch. Would return .
Great burgers. Crab cake OK. We like the old pub atmosphere.
Stop the outdoor service. Too many parking spaces are lost on what is already a difficult place to park.
Food is very good with reasonable prices.
Delightful lunch in the back room which is always nice no matter the season. Service was a little slow and inattentive but overall a pleasant uncrushed lunch.
First time at this place and we will probably not go back. New parents with a 2 months old baby and the manager asked us to leave the stroller in the front of the restaurant and find a way to carry the baby or put her on a high chair! Obviously he probably doesn’t have children or grandchildren to know that a 2 months old still can’t sit!! Zero distance between tables. Food was greasy and Coffee was cold.
Great pulled pork nachos! Service was great, too. Love the casual vibe.
Haven’t been there in years but perfect for a late lunch with the kids. Relaxed, good food and a good beer. All on a sunny patio.
Very nice except they despartely need outdoor heaters.. why have customers uncomfortable
Nice experience, fireplace was great!
Really good wait staff
Overall meh - food was about average - expected more - not many drink options
Service was nice - but slow
Underwhelmed compared to other places I’ve been
Excellent steak frites! Our server Susan was lovely and very attentive. We sat in the back with the fireplace and it was perfect - not too noisy which was helpful because one of people in our party is hard of hearing. Love the G man. I'll be back again!
We went for Sunday brunch. The menu was simple, but sufficient. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and we sat by the fire, so the ambience was great.
Great food great ambience sitting by a warm fire. Can’t wait to go back.
St. Patrick’s Day.
Food wasn’t as good as it usually is. Understandable since it was St. patty’s day. Won’t stop me from going back!
All good, great service!
Wonderful rustic setting with fireplace and seasoned wood surroundings . Quality comfort food and very attentive service.
Brunch at Gingerman is always a treat. But their Bloody Mary’s are spicy!!! So be prepared.
Superb. Wonderful staff, delicious food and cozy atmosphere. A new favorite.
