El Freemasons at Wiswell sirve comida fabulosa en un entorno rural elegante y relajado. Está ubicado en la localidad de Wiswell (también conocida como "la caja de bombones"), cerca de Clitheroe, en el pintoresco Ribble Valley. Se reformó y se volvió a abrir en el verano de 2009 y ahora ofrece un ambiente hogareño para una clientela fiel. Tiene suelo de piedra, paredes de colores suaves tradicionales, alfombras y muebles antiguos y cuadros e ilustraciones de época que crean un ambiente elegante y cómodo. El bar ofrece una excelente selección de cervezas de barril tradicionales de cervecerías independientes galardonadas y más de 250 vinos magníficos de todo el mundo. La comida es su punto fuerte. El chef y propietario Steven Smith ha creado un menú único y diverso que se adapta perfectamente al estilo y el ambiente. Es una verdadera experiencia gastronómica.

Really enjoyed our evening here, we had the taster menu, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating, my partner is a vegetarian and they swapped the meat dishes out for vegetarian alternatives without any fuss. All the food was incredible and the service was excellent too.

I was very disappointed with my recent meal as it was a birthday treat for a friend. I had had a wonderful meal previously. Amuse bouche and desserts were lovely. But my starter - Hen in The Wood - had extremely overpowering flavours. It just didn’t work for me. Plus, the cod in the Thai Green Curry Sauce was far too salty and the sauce too spicy for both of us. Staff didn’t seem to take our comments on board. But will give it another go, in the hope the menu changes!

Everything about our visit was amazing, first class, couldnt fault any part of it. The food delicious, the service impeccable. We had never been before and came from 48 minutes drive away my mother whose 89th birthday it was, was very pleased

Had a lovely late afternoon Sunday lunch. Blessed with warm weather so sat outside for pre-meal drinks. We were greeted warmly upon arrival & told in advance which table we would have. The set price 3 course meal was delicious & preceded by nibbles & bread. The service was attentive without being invasive. Wine selection available, by the glass, was excellent. If you are looking for high quality food in relaxed surroundings. This is the place for you. Rooms also available for overnight stays.

If I could give more than 5 stars for service then I would. What a surprising place. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, the place (upstairs at least) is laid out really interestingly too but it’s the service that really stood out. Definitely going back.
