The Food Market Ratings and Reviews
Always a pleasant experience. Food was good and appealing to the vegan, the vegetarian and the meat eater in our group. The ability to order differently-sized plates a welcomed touch. Friendly service also appreciated. The only detraction is the noise. It's not just a high energy space, it's a noisy one. Be prepared to talk really loudly if the restaurant is busy and you want to be heard.
We took another couple for dinner who had eaten there before, although I wish we had known how loud it would be. Very crowded, with a youngish crowd and we were seated right next to the bar. The braised short rib was very good as was the crabcake. Service was adequate and they did keep my water glass filled. Free valet parking was nice! We did catch wafts of cigarette smoke - coming from outside?
We've been to the Food Market on several occasions, and have never been dissappointed. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options in a variety of sizes and price points. The chicken dish with mozzarella, proscuitto, roasted garlic potatoes, and broccoli was wonderful, and the leftover served as dinner the next night. Our party also enjoyed the scallops, and the shrimp dinner. Our waiter was wonderful, answered all of our questions, and it won't be long before we go back to this dining treasure in Hampden.
I recently ate at The Food Market for the first time, for Sunday Brunch. The service was excellent. Our waiter was amicable, attentive, and quick. Our food came out very fast after we ordered. The food was great, and so was the drink I had with it (the special mimosa). They kept our waters filled even after we paid the check and proceeded to stay at the table chatting. I'll definitely be going back, sometime.
First time at the food market. Great experience. Wendy our server was awesome! Not only did she take the time to go over a few questions I had, she did it with a smile even though it was busy! Food was fast, didn’t wait long between orders and was hot. Cool atmosphere and great food!
Been meaning to go for a while but we tend to go back to the same places over and over. Took my hubby there for a date night birthday dinner. We made our meal of a bunch of small plates. Food was excellent, service was friendly, timely and impeccable. We will return!
Food and service are spectacular. Noise is horrific . I have not been to the Food Market for at least 3 years because of the noise, I missed everything else so a friend and I decided to give it another try for Sunday lunch. Still impossible to have a conversation. I cannot imagine what Saturday night might be like. Makes me sad as everything else is first rate.
We were visiting Baltimore for a family event and The Food Market was recommended to us. We had a great meal in an inviting atmosphere. Service was wonderful. We asked questions about the menu and our server had all the answers. We all had different fish dishes for our entrees after delicious starters (beet salad, crab soup, lobster fingers). The wine list was a bit limited for us but we made the best of it. Being from NY and LA we were very surprised when the check came. The cost of such a delicious meal was modest by what we are used to. Would definitely recommend !
Once again The Food Market was spot on! I invited two foodie friends who had never been and they loved it! From the deconstructed French onion soup appetizer to the short ribs with wet Gouda, every bite was perfect!! The server was knowledgeable and helped us make the right choices including our cocktails.
I look forward to the next visit!
