The seafood is incredibly fresh and tasty. The bouillibase, while quite tasty, is highly overpriced at $48 for the amount and variety of seafood in the dish.
Fantastic fresh fish, very tasty. Service was pleasant and attentive, but some waiting since they were very busy. Looking forward to our next meal so we can try more options.
All four of us chose different dishes and we all agreed that every thing was delicious.
We had an awesome time & Ian our server was excellent and added to our experience 🌺
Food was so good and our server was the best! Looking forward to going back.
Ate here for dinner 27th Nov 2021. Ate outdoors. Service was excellent and our 1 guest with a gluten allergy was acknowledged upon check-in and easily accommodated with several menu optuons and adaptations readily available. Fantastic creative cocktail menu. West coast oysters and mignonette were outstanding. We had the halibut tacos, macadamia crusted halibut, seafood fettuccine, and soup/salad/fishery sushi roll. Everything was fabulous and portions were spot on. Pot de creme dessert is to die for! Our waiter was fantastic.
We have loved The Fishery for many many years and were pretty disappointed last night with the service. Our server and the food runners were clearly overworked and we did not feel that our server gave us enough attention. She did not check to see how our food was and did not come frequently enough to take our order for more drinks. I’m sure she is very good at her job under normal circumstances but if the restaurant is short staffed then they should limit the number of parties. Overall sad.
Excellent Fish & Chips lunch, both the cod and the halibut! Excellent server. Was seated immediately at arrival. Noise: was seated outdoors, as ordered, and is right at streetside. But traffic not bad. Outdoor setup very nice!!
Wonderful dining experience for our group of 6. Excellent food. Service was super great, friendly, and had a touch of humor. My husband had not gone out to eat for nearly 2 years, and he had a blast. Thank You!
Server was great
Excellent menu and service! Setting was at outside tables. Server well informed re menu - host was exceptional in greeting process.
Food = can't say enough - across the board , 4 diff entrees -- all surpurb.
Happy to return!
Started the evening with some good craft cocktails, moved to soup and salad all were solid, Fish entrees were spot on.
The poke and grilled swordfish were both spectacular. The waiter was very there every time we needed him. Great food and great service. Will be back soon!
The food is excellent. The wait staff are gracious and efficient even with a bustling crowd. This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that is well worth the trip from other areas for a delicious meal.
Top quality and service! Always fresh and delicious
Enjoyed the restaurant very much, a bit disappointed in several menu items that were advertised in the open table menu not being available. I did enjoy the food items we had. The poke and the chowder were excellent. The grilled oysters delicious but very small. I had the bouillabaisse and it was flavorful but I found a few small bones in the fish that is a real turn off for me. Overall it was a good dining experience. Good service, very friendly. Would return again in the future.
New job celebration!
Such a wonderful experience from the hostess to the service to the food. The fish was so tasty and fresh, prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get too. Everything was great all around. We were in San Diego for a few days and this was our best meal /experience during our time out there.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere, great service
The Fishery is outstanding. Service, meal, presentation of the highest quality.
Our food was delicious and service was great. We’ll be back very soon.
The food was exceptional! Our waiter Ian was great. He steered us in the right direction on food and wine.I would highly recommend the Fishery. You deserve a Michelin star.
I ordered the ciappino and it 3 shellfish and 4 or 5 small pieces of seafood for$48, not even an appetizer size. I thought it was a joke. I Sent it back and had a sushi roll
Very bad experience
Everything was great except the music was too loud.
Food is always delicious!
Arguably best halibut/fish and chips ever
Great local PB spot. Love everything about this place.
Even the house salad was excellent.
Very good overall. The fish was exceptional and well prepared. The pasta was just ok. Stick with the fish.
It was wonderful. Definitely coming back over and over
We absolutely love this place. The super fresh seafood offerings make this place special. The staff are friendly and deliver consistent spot on service. What really makes this place shine is their interpretation of classic Mexican mariscos…oh my! They also have offerings such as Alaskan Halibut fish’n chips. This place is an overlooked gem.
LOOVE IT HERE! Highly recommend this place. amazing food. great drinks best people!
Very fresh fish. The oysters were great. I wish they would quote price of specials as were quite pricey!
We come to the fishery all the time, and love it! We noticed that the Opa burger that se love is different, smaller, and came on a cold soggy bun. Whatever you were doing before, you need to do that again.
Anniversary dinner. Our waitress took our order, someone else served us . May have been a bad night for her but the experience left us with ignored evening. We are super sensitive to every worker/server at this difficult time.
By far, the best seafood in San Diego.
This was our first time back since the Covid shutdown. The service and food were excellent. The Macadamia Crusted Halibut was delicious. But the restaurant is always loud inside. They had many options for eating outside, but we sat indoors and ventilation was really good, as the main doors were wide open all night. The prices are high, though, for a more casual restaurant.
Here on vacation and checking out cool local restos. We loved the Fishery - great selection, very fresh, wonderful ambiance (we ate outside) and service. We also loved how dog-friendly it was. Would recommend; will be back.
We had a great time! Great service. Tonight, all of the food was on point! Regards to the chef and staff. We had a really nice experience! We always do!
