The Fishery Restaurant & Market is located just a few blocks from the ocean in North Pacific Beach.
The restaurant menu reflects ‘coastal cuisine’ with a simple yet serious focus on the best our coastal fisheries and local farms have to offer. The passion that drives Chef Mike Reidy is evidenced by flavors that can only be achieved using ingredients at their peak of seasonality and freshness.
The Fishery was awarded the prestigious Award of Excellence for its Wine List from Wine Spectator in 2018- Present. Our wine list is inspired by the great wines of Europe and their American counterparts and we strive to showcase real, natural, food friendly-wines with a sense of place.

I didn’t think it was possible but with the addition of Chef Bautista their food has become even more elevated. Our meal recently was near perfection, every single course from appetizers to entrees to dessert were spot on. The flavor profiles were superb, the dishes well thought out and successfully executed. I can’t stress enough how fantastic an eating experience we enjoyed. I’ve been dining at The Fishery over seventeen years and my most recent visit was near or at the top. I look forward to going back for more.

Food and drinks were outstanding. Everything we tried was made from the freshest ingredients, and every recipe had a creative twist. Drinks were above and beyond as well. It is a small place with a fish counter where you can buy fresh fish, so that was a bit unexpected for a place serving food of this caliber. We will definitely be back, I want to try everything on the menu.

The Fishery is our go to seafood restauranter in San Diego. We have been coming her for about 20 years usually as a couple and at times with a larger group. This place never disappoints! The fish is always prepared well, priced at a good value. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is casual yet refined. Lastly the wine list is impressive.

First time at the Fishery but won't be the last! Our party of four sampled several appetizers and entrees. We started with the Calamari, Mussels and Chino Farms Salad with Burrata. Each was a hit with all of us. Next we shared Fish and Chips ("the best I've ever had") was the consensus, Swordfish Sandwich ( again excellent), Shrimp Tacos (devoured) and although we were full we finished off two bowls of Clam Chowder. Again the Chowder was better than any I'd ever had while living in New England!

Disappointing and over rated. We had heard/read good things about this restaurant and went with expectations of having a great seafood meal, but were sorely disappointed with both the quality of the food and the value. Please understand that our meal wasn't terrible - but from the appetizer to the main dishes it was food that we couldn't have gotten at any other of the hundreds of seafood places in San Diego - and at a much lower price. The entree's lacked finesse, balance, and depth of flavor from seasoning. Additionally, the menu was incredibly small for a company that claims to be the supplier of so much seafood for the surrounding area's restaurants. There were 6 entrees on the menu - one of which was a large format entree, and one that they had run out of. So, the selection was limited and lacking in any creativity. If you don't mind average sea food with average flavor then you'll probably like this place - until you get the bill. The one notable exception are the cocktails. The team running the bar has created some great drinks with in-house enhanced spirits that are very well balanced. So, stop by and have a drink, but skip the meal.

Our group had one person who loves fish, and two vegetarians. We were able to make a deal out of the various vegetable options, and the server was helpful in suggesting an alternative not on the menu that the chef could prepare. The food was wonderful, the outside seating was lovely, and we were overall very impressed.

This was our second visit to the Fishery and the quality of the food was very good on both occasions. My complaint is the service. We waited a long time to place our orders for dinner and dessert. It took 30 minutes for an order of ice cream for the children to come and it was pistachio instead of the requested vanilla. Our waiter seem overstretched and lacked attentiveness but was polite and apologetic.

The food and drinks were amazing! I had the oysters Rockefeller, calamari, and the macadamia-crusted Alaskan halibut. For drinks, I had the Oui, Madame!, Night Market, and the Summer Negroni. The bar staff was wonderful, friendly, and made great recommendations!

The seafood at the Fishery is perfectly cooked and seasoned, nicely presented. They have a nice outside patio area, where we sat on a beautiful, sunny day! Eric was our server and provided friendly, helpful service throughout. We really enjoyed our meal. Thank you, Fishery!

Let me begin by saying we had a great server. She was very helpful with the menu since my son in law has food restrictions. The noise level was very bad. I know it was busy but maybe look into putting something inside that would help absorb the noise. The food was ok. We were told that the fish and chips were the best is SD. Wrong!! Too much batter on the fish and no taste. There were 2 people that ordered it and both felt the same way. Clam Chowder was good but I have had better in SD. Overall experience was fair but not great. I don’t mind paying the price if the experience is great!!! Probably will not make a return trip there.

White peach and Beet salad with yoghurt dressing was our favorite, followed by gren curry mussels and swordfish and it was a great finish with desserts (chocolate layer cake and vanilla ice cream.

I visit San Diego annually in the summer and always make a point to get to The Fishery at least once. Their fish is fresh and the chef is creative with the cuisine. One of my all time favorites, for sure.

Came here with the fam on a Wednesday evening, made a 6pm reservation and were seated right away at a table outside. I'd say most of the tables were occupied while we were there. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He came over a couple of times to answer all our questions, and take our drink orders etc. We ended up ordering some oysters and the burrata app. The Burrata was good and my dad said he enjoyed the oysters. I got the macadamia crusted halibut which was VERY tasty, had really great flavors and was cooked really well. My sister said the same thing about her swordfish, although her and my mom mentioned it was a little spicy if that's of your taste (the are very sensitive). They also nicely brought over a scoop of sorbet with a candle in it to celebrate my dad's birthday. Overall everything was VERY tasty, but also pretty pricey so value for the money I'm giving it 4 stars.
