My son and I were gratefully well-fed in a nice warm spot by the fires of the wood burning stone oven on an unseasonably cold Sunday morning - premier league, premier jazz quartet, premier virgin bloody mary's!
We were seated promptly. Our waitress delivered our wine then forgot about us for 30 mins. We had to get another waitress to find her. When she returned she took our order and was informed we had to be somewhere by 8 . She left our table went to two other tables to take care of them before putting in our order. We ate our food fast and were 10 mins late to our show. The food was good though
The Fifth Element is a favorite! Always an excellent meal, friendly and prompt service, excellent cocktail and wine list... I could go on and on. Love this place!
Quality food, nice ambiance.
The food and service was excellent.. we’ve never been disappointed when we’ve eaten here and today was no exception! The crispy feta was delicious!
Very hip place with unique food and drinks! And we were pleasantly surprised to walk in and have a jazzy funk band playing! Wonderful night!
Wonderful place - went for jazz brunch. Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Great food, great service, and a great menu all in a quaint restaurant with live music.
Every time I come here I am not disappointed! Food is consistent and creative. A win win every time!
Incredible gluten free options! Best date night we have had in ages thanks to the out of this world food, perfectly mixed cocktails, and warm and friendly service. Cannot wait to go back! Well worth the drive from Cape Cod
Food was good, service was very slow.
Great atmosphere great food
We will definitely go back again.
They even made us a heart shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day
It was an unforgettable experience. Our waitress Jasper was outstanding and so was the food. Highly recommend
Valentine’s Day dinner. Everything was good. Pizza is always great. Husband had the bistro steak and liked it. The spinach balls are so delicious.
Great food...great service...great experience.
Will definitely come again!!
Great dinner and service. Always a wonderful experience
It's been a few months since we've been to the Fifth Element but my husband & I both left there saying we need to come more often. Our dinner & drinks were outstanding and we look forward to returning soon!
Service was courteous but slow . The bread and butter came after our meals and wasn't fresh. Steaks were severely undercooked when we asked for medium.
The music performed by Doug Woolverton's band was great and added to the experience of the restaurant. The bistro filet was good but the mashed potatoes were absolutely dreadful.
Still, I would recommend this place to friends, especially if they can make Monday nights.
We frequent Fifth Element a lot -- like the food and the vibe of the restaurant. But last visit there we had absolutely terrible service. I originally felt it might be due to it being Restaurant week, but they did not participate in the event. Restaurant wasn't full, so no real reason for bad service. We were greeted by a sour looking young hostess who seemed to care less about having a reservation and where we wanted to seat. No personality at all. Then we had a server who brought the wrong appetizer and then after telling her 2 times it was wrong, she ignored us and walked away. We had to follow her with the wrong plate of food to finally get her attention. When I asked her why she didn't take it away, she just said "Whatever...I will take it back". Terrible, terrible service that night.
Great local joint with friendly vibe, great bartenders and servers, very good food.
Beautiful place, great atmosphere and great food! Would definitely recommend to others and will be back!
This was a casual place that we hope to visit again. We had a fun evening: food was delicious, people were friendly (though the place was a bit noisy). Two tables near us were celebrating birthdays and the atmosphere feels celebratory! Everything we ordered was terrific. Next time I want to try the pizza, which looked great.
Good food. Only issues were that our reservation was lost in the computer, and our table was given to someone else. This place is super lively, and very loud. But very fun. Good food, good young bar vibe.
We arrived early and were glad we did due to taking 15 minutes to find parking. That being said we were still 20 minutes early and could not be seated which we understood even though there were several empty tables and "our" table was "still" in use. We went to bar a got a drink and never were notified table was ready. We approached maitre d and asked again to be seated. She asked again if we had reservations and then sat us. After placing food order it took over 45 minutes to be served our meal. Very disappointing in maître d skills and time in took to actually get served. Also salad ordered was served at same time as food.
This was our 3rd time at this wonderful restaurant and the meal was superb. We had three dishes plus desserts, and everything was top notch. The spinach balls were flavorful and had a wonderful texture, the grilled asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the enchilada was very tasty and well prepared. The service is great, and I love that they keep the bar (very vibrant) well sectioned off from the dining room.
Food and service were very good. Our only complaint would be that the music was too loud for us to have a comfortable dinner conversation. One of the reasons we picked this was the advertised live music, which was great but just too loud for dining. If ever in Newport again, we would not hesitate to go back.
The food was good. Our waitress was excellent but the music was soooo loud we couldn’t hear each other speak. Our waitress did ask the band to turn down the amplifier but after their break the music went back up. I enjoy music but this was unpleasant. Guests that are dining should be considered as there is no division between bar and dining room. Very unpleasant.
Food was very good and reasonably priced. Lively atmosphere. Kitchen was a bit slow In getting food out to us. Service was good.
My wife and I have been to the 5th Element on several occasions-- some with friends and some alone- and whether it is for a app or dinner at the bar or the dining room- it is always a great treat. The staff is always attentive and the owners are not only present but always engaged and most hospitable. They work hard and I expect that they will have continued success for a long time to come.
The spinach balls are amazing and the martinis very good!
Very good food and competent wait staff-
Helpful and friendly staff- the bill was a little slow- but good food and enticing environment-
I enjoyed the feeling of openness! Wide huge windows opened to view street and fresh air flowing into dining area! I loved that! Great crowd, civil, enjoying a night out. Excellent hamburger. Made to my exact specifications! My Guinness beer was fresh, nice head of foam! My waitress was attentive and on point with our entire order. I would definitely returned and would definitely recommend!
"I love the upbeat , new fresh feel of this place. Nice ambiance. Food was terrific. I loved the lamb tips. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was abit slow to get started but then it was well-timed. staff was friendly, wines were affordable."
We love the corn/jalepeno pizza and we appreciate the consistently good service.
This was my second visit and once again the restaurant didn't disappoint We were visiting our daughter who attends college in Newport and we had a large party This service and food were perfect regardless of how busy they were
Date night before Bit Players!
A local gem being two blocks from my house. Great place for a satisfying meal. I addicted to their mussels in a spicy tomato-based broth. Add hand-cut fries for a full meal. And the sticky toffee pudding to die for.
Always a great meal at the 5th. The atmosphere was great, food and drinks were on point and the service was fantastic.
Food was good; service was a bit slow even though the place wasn't so busy.
