Highly recommended venue just off Marylebone High Street. The menu has an excellent selection of vegetarian tapas which got a thumbs up for the veggies in our group. There is also a selection of larger meals for those who are a little hungrier. Great venue and great food.

Had the pork belly to start with, but the garlic strawberry, vanilla and mango sauces to complement really did not match. The lamb chops were overdone and sour, it was marketed as marinated.

After amazing previous visits I had a really poor experience. Food tasted lovely but was luke warm. The service left a lot to be desired. Given it wasn't busy we had to attract attention several times and had to ask where one of our dishes was only to eventually be told by someone else 15 minutes later they had run out.

When we first went here, the food and service was good. The last two ocassions have been very disappointing and we will not be back. The place was very quiet, yet the service was nonexistent. The food took a while to arrive, and it was average. Not sure what has happened over the last 6 months, but its not good!

A small group of us went for tapas on a weekday night. The pub downstairs and restaurant area above are both cosy, pleasant spaces. The tapas are good, but the service let the place down. Staff - with one exception - were surly; reacting badly to queries about food temperature. Some tapas were luke-warm, which were returned to us nuked in a microwave, minus the amount already eaten. Some were deliberately cold; indicated by a small 'c' on the menu, but slightly surprising if you hadn't noticed. I can't imagine we were the first to query cold mushrooms and cold poached egg, although by their response, you'd have thought we were. For good measure, we were also bellowed at for moving a light (which we hadn't). Bit more work needed.

Most of the dishes we ordered were nice but a little mean - a chorizo and lentil dish had only 4 little slices of chorizo. It would be better to charge more and give satisfying portions. Croquettes gorgeous. Staff pleasant and friendly and pretty quick too.

The Fat of the Land in Marylebone looks just like any other pub downstairs, but upstairs has a cosy Spanish restaurant with some of the best Tapas I have ever eaten. An undiscovered gem!

Great venue for a relatively informal business type lunch. no need to trawl through the Tapas menu - just ask the waiter to bring enough food for the group - specify anything you really don;t like and tell them how hungry you are. worked a treat for us.

Went there for a team lunch - I've passed it before and it is often weirdly quiet. No idea why, all the tapas we tried were very tasty. Delicious squid salad, plates of ham and cheese, lamb skewers and so on. Plus the sun was shining, and as New Cavendish St is E-W, it stays sunny all the time you're there. Service was exemplary, and very friendly. Only imperfection was in the desserts - the almond tart is very nice, the chocolate tart not bad, but the marzipan "biscuits" (really balls of marzipan) were forgettable. But would definitely go back, maybe even when the sun isn't shining (we'd drink red instead of rosé).

The quality of the food and the extraordinary food combinations make this a truly excellent venue. The tapas menu was perfect for a small group, so everyone could try the different dishes. We had to sit downstairs as the upstairs main restaurant was closed, however, still a good atmosphere. Service could have been a bit better, eg the wine was delivered with its cap on and wasn't poured out. But would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Went as a large group after a Wigmore Hall concert and were very happy with it. High quality tapas in generous portions with a Catalan slant to take it away from standard tapas, very reasonable prices for quality, nice house wines, friendly service and cool decor.

Everything on the menu sounds delicious, unfortunately some of our choices were a bit heavy handed and tasted like they'd been sitting around all day. The fried things were great - cod fritters and croquettas - everything else so so and definitely don't order the coco with chorizo - one of the pieces had a lump of any old sausage on it! The wine was a bit warm and the service was ok but a bit lacklustre. Shame as I really wanted it all to be good so we could come here loads!

We went before going on to the theatre so the speed of service was excellent. Downstairs a little unimpressive but if you can get a seat outside you're in luck. We ate in the bright, stylish and fairly empty upstairs restaurant- it was spacious and looks a good place to have a private party! The staff were helpful, polite and friendly- we took their advice and ordered the squid arm- delicious!

The fat of the land has the potential to be a great local restaurant but it just doesn't deliver. The food is poor and the service inconsistent. Many of the dishes we choose were not available and those we did have were average or just plain measly. With so many other good restaurants in the area I'm surprised they can get away with such poor standards.

We were here for lunch, but lunch or dinner would be good. It's not noisy, so great if you have lots to catch up on and want to hear each other easily. Although the waiters aren't particularly friendly, the service was good and all our dishes arrived promptly. Great wine menu too. I'd definitely return.

We went to Fat of the Land to have Tapas but after seeing the menu two of us had normal main courses (roast beef and salmon which were very good). The third person had tapas and was disappointed the portions were very small especially considering the price of each dish.

The casual, tasteful decor and friendly staff made this restaurant immediately relaxing. My friends and I decided to sample the tapas menu, rather than choosing a starter and main for dinner. The seafood dishes are particularly good, and some old favourites are given an interesting twist. I love that I have finally found a restaurant that does small bites for dessert - the chocolate truffles added a nice sweet end to dinner, without feeling like we'd over eaten. The wine selection was good - well priced considering the West End location. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you were on a tight budget as the tapas plates are probably not the same size as you'd get in a chain restaurant, but the quality is definitely better.

We dined at the The Fat of the Land on a Saturday evening early February - it's in a relatively quiet area of Central London so wasn't too surprised that is was only half full. The welcome and service was very good, relaxed but friendly and efficient. We weren't massively hungry so didn't sample too many options from the Tapas menu, which was quite comprehensive with lots of classics plus a few more unusual dishes. Everything we had was good, nothing special but given the prices for this area wa pretty happy with it.

I am afraid that this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We had booked for a birthday meal and from the outset it was clear that there were problems. We waited 30 minutes before we received the drinks we had ordered, which were then placed on an adjacent table while the waitress had a long discussion with another diner who was complaining. We ordered a number of dishes that arrived. We then eventually were told that the two main dishes we had ordered were not available, and by then it was too late to order anything else. We were offered free deserts but by then just wanted to leave the place. We had a sandwich at Paddington because we were still hungry. Maybe an off night, but I will not be returning to find out.

Went for a boozy Saturday lunch with girlfriends - nice decor and ambience and friendly service. Only real problem was that it was a snowy January day so we had the place pretty much to ourselves - probably down to the weather but would have been even better if we'd had some more liveliness around us. Menu had lots of choice - 3 friends shared a good paella, the sangria was great. I had a vegetarian racione which was a little insubstantial for the price - so I filled up on bread. Can't comment on other dishes but would happily return and try some others. Hidden away a little off Marylebone High St which is probably a plus point at a busier time of year.

Came for lunch, had booked but was very quiet. Good range of tapas and waitress was attentive and helpful to a couple of rather indecisive diners without being at all intrusive. More food than we needed plus coffee and a jug of sangria came to £30 each, good value for London. Previously been to the Norfolk Arms, which I believe shares an owner with Fat of the Land. Definitely prefer FotL - might be the quiet time of day, but service, food and general decor were all noticeably better than NA.

I enjoyed dining here with a group of 6 friends. We shared a mix of tapas dishes and all were nice, with a few excellent. Service was fine. As a whole it was great value at about 36 quid a head which included a 4 bottles of drink so great value. Overall a solid if not spectacular choice.
