   Whether it's a group of you or just the two this is a Lovely place for Christmas lunch. Good amount of seating not overcrowded. Really welcoming staff, Christmas songs playing in the background. Good choice of menu and great tasting food.

   Very dissapointing. Restaurant was almost empty on the last Saturday before Xmas which should have been a warning sign of what was to come. Service was appalling. After asking for sparkling water was told they didn’t have any! any good restaurant would have gone out and bought some. After ordering starters I was told the last Prawn starter had been sold to someone else, even though the restaurant was not even half full. We waited 45mins to get bread when it arrived we weren’t given individual plates and had to ask for butter & oil to go with the bread. The starters arrived 1.40 hours after we ordered them, at no point did anyone apologise for the delay or keep us informed of what was going on. Extremely poor service will not return or recommend to friends. Real shame as we’ve enjoyed better service and food in the past at this restaurant.

   So disappointed! We came here before and food was excellent. This time it was such a let down. The restaurant was very cold. There were about 3 tables and we waited forever to order and pay. The starters were average, steak sauce was super salty and risotto completely tasteless. For the price you pay you'd expect far better meal. Will not go back.

   Very short staffed. Ridicules long wait for everything. We have eaten here before and the service is never great but it was particularly poor on Sunday. We had a early booking thank goodness because everyone who arrived after us eventually had to leave. Felt very sorry for the one good waitress who was mortified by the situation and couldn't have been more apologetic. We did pay the service charge because it wasn't her fault but given that we had hoped for a quick lunch and be home to watch the football we were there for over 2hours! (It took over an hour to get our drinks!)

   As a long standing Sunday luncher, we have always enjoyed a great lunch available all day. Unfortunately have visited less and less mostly due to the service. The waiting staff seem to struggle to understand simple requests and inexperienced. It's such a shame to see such a great restaurant try and cut costs because it shows.

   Really like this place, great for Sunday lunch, especially as it now includes a glass of house red and a desert - very wholesome.

   I arrived slightly after two of my guests at 7.05, who were already seated at the table, however their drinks order had not been take. We waited for the rest of our group to arrive ( 10 min ) still no one approached the table and asked if we would like to see the drinks menu. Once everyone was seated we waited a bit longer before approaching the waitress for the drinks menu, we eventually got our drinks at 8pm. This was the pattern of the evening, once we placed the orders food came quite quickly and was excellent but the general service was poor. There were just two waitresses for the whole restaurant, one of whom seem incredibly nervous and unsure. Whilst its nice not to feel rush during a meal we didn't have our deserts till at 10 pm

    I have visited The Exhibition Rooms frequently for various occasions, special and general get togethers. This time I was disappointed to find when handed the menu, they were not offering an Early Bird menu, which is excellent value for money. I shall now only visit for special occasions.
