   Our dinner here of our two night stay and we invited friends who live in Staffordshire to join us. We had reserved a table in the bar and we enjoyed drinks all together until the lovely and helpful,Josh came over and escorted us to our table. As with the previous night the food and service were superb and everyone said what a great meal it was and how good the service from Josh was. Breakfast the ne t morning, Sunday 1st June, was not as good as the previous day in terms of sservice. The breakfast cereals had been put out but no serving spoons, the fruit salad and orange juice were empty at 09.15. When I asked for yagart our waitress said she didn’t think they had any as the menu had changed, I told her it was on the menu and she went and found some. She brought the tea and coffee but no milk. The food though was excellent. We loved the Duncombe Arms and would recommend it highly.

   Staying here for two nights. Arrived and were shown to our Room (4) by Josh who was helpful and charming. The room is fabulous, clean and very comfortable but the Smart TV is not attached to the Internet. Two members IG staff have tried to connect it but failed. However it hasn’t detracted from our stay but needs sorting as the rooms are advertised as having Smart TV’s. Dinner was really good, highly recommend the tart Tatan. Service was great too and a very fairly priced wine list. Having dinner again tonight with friends here. Looking forward to hopefully another good dinner. Breakfast was very good, lovely homemade granola. My husband had the full English abd said it was excellent.

   Good service and great food. Mains would benefit from a bit more veg (eg would have loved more than 2 onion rings with my steak).

   Overpriced for very average food. Had a Barnsley chop which was so tough, a table knife wouldn't cut it against the grain.

   We heard about The Duncombe Arms from Michelin Guide and we were looking forward to dine there after a visit of the Chartworth House on that day. The location and the interior of the pub were beautiful. However, the food was not as great as expected. The tomatoes from the bruschetta did not seem as fresh, the gravy for the lamb was too salty, the potatoes from both the lamb and the pork were dry and seemed prepared some time ago, and the cabbage was a bit bitter and did not have much other flavour. On a positive note, the chicken liver pate was delicious and the dessert was the best out of the three courses we tried.

   Visited a couple of times, dropped on it passing by, didn’t know about it and so pleased we do now, food is excellent, the venue is clean and quirky, service is top drawer, you won’t regret visiting

   Lovely place for lunch Good car parking Clean and well maintained Staff very attentive Food was very good but only 1 cooked vegetarian choice, so I would reccomend searching menu before going in case you don't like that particular dish. I had gnocchi with mushroom ...very tasty The only other option was cheese sandwich

   Beef very tender, gammon tasty, veg nice. Yorkshire pudding lovely, gravy delicious 🤤

    Top quality restaurant food with beautiful rural views at the rear of the property. Outdoor dining is lovely on a nice day. Friendly staff, attentive but not imposing.
