Visited The Don Tower Bridge for lunch after a trip on the Thames. I was surprised that for a Saturday lunchtime the restaurant was virtually empty. We had the lunch set menu and both had lasagne as a main. Not the best with no leaves or garlic bread. The desserts were mediocre. Unlikely to be back.

Not expected for our arrival so had to make up a table. No garlic bread (strange for an Italian) and had to use the same knife and fork as used for starter which I was unimpressed about really. Overall ok, went to carb up night before London marathon which did the trick.

Big thanks to every member of staff at the Don Restaurant. The restaurant was recommended very highly by one of my friends so I decided to do my wedding proposal at the Don restaurant. I contacted the manager (Philippe) to which informed him of my plans for the evening. As time approached I was getting nervous and had no clue of what to expect, when my partner and I arrived at the restaurant the place was just perfect, the decoration didn’t give the surprise away and we were taken to our table by the waiter. On the table there was a bottle of champagne and very beautifully decorated our table. I was in stunned by how much time they took to make it so perfect, we were brought our menus and given the exact time to think what we wanted to order, for the starter we ordered calamari and goat cheese, it was a lovely start to our evening, our mains were meat pizza and spaghetti seafood I just have one word amazing, the food beautifully decorated; one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. As I planed with Philippe how to give the ring he had taken the time to buy some roses and a box where I placed the ring. The moment came and the staff change the melody of the music to help make it more special and very professionally the brought our desert (Tiramisu) at that moment I give her the roses and the ask her to open the box and there it was the ring, followed by the big question that had me so nervous; to become my future wife. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant, the food was fantastic, atmosphere was great, the staffs were very friendly and took a good deal of time setting this up for an amazing night and overall I was completely satisfied with the service provided.

The worse service ever. Looks like they they had to rush everybody out. We were just served our cocktails that we had to order the food. Politely told them to come back in ten minutes. Then the dishes arrived and never the previous plates were cleared. Two of the parties had finished and the plates were cleared without bothering about the third party who had not finished. So rude. Even at one point the plate of the third party was cleared and the person had to ask if the waiter did not mind if she finished her dish. The food is expensive for the mediocre quality and dreadful taste and presentation. The decor is naff and cheap. I cannot believe one second anyone who give 5 or even 3 stars to this place.

This restaurant is crying out for a visit from Gordon Ramsey. The decor was tired and dated, the service was friendly but it was our waitresses first night and she had little clue about what service is expected ( eg part clearing plates whilst people were eating). The food was very average. Such a shame, as an independent, family restaurant I'd love it to be improved.

We probably should have realised that the Don's prices were a bit cheap for the area, and that meant that the food wasn't great. It wasn't bad exactly just not that good.

my wife and I booked late for a Wednesday evening casual dinner. we wanted near Tower Bridge and this was great. Although it was very quiet, there service was excellent and we had a lovely easy meal of pasta and seafood. I think the ambience would have been better with more of a buzz from a fuller restaurant, which I hope they get. I would be happy to go again.

This restaurant was a surprise. Being at the foot of the London Bridge, one would think it was a tourist trap. It was anything but that. The gnocchi was exceptional, and the spaghetti was good. Try the olives and pure authentic Italian bread for an appetizer. The olives in pure virgin oil were excellent. A decent wine list, with the Sangiovesse being very good. This restaurant is a good value, with very good staff, and a nice atmosphere in old Italian. Excellent ports are available. Worth your money.

The Don was very good value for us, we had two fantastic meals with a nice bottle of wine for less than we paid the previous night at a lesser quality restaurant. The service was fantastic and to top it off a friendly atmosphere rounded off a very good meal.
