Outstanding in every way. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Asheville..
I so wanted this to be a great experience because we were celebrating my birthday. Our waiter, Brandon did an excellent job. He did the best he could do with the situation at hand.
For the food, that’s a different story. I ordered the three course meal. My first course was fois gras mousseline was delicious. Main course was their filet mug in which I ordered medium rare. This is where the problem begins. It was cooked medium almost medium well and was so dry it was inedible. So I sent it back thinking that chefs can make a mistake but I was wrong. The next steak came out even more over cooked and just as dry even with a light sauce on it. So of course I’m going to send it back. Brandon was busy and the lady that I talked to that came to check on my meal whom I’m assuming was in a managerial position became very defensive when I explained the situation and even showed her that the steak was over cooked again. She said that my first steak was cooked properly and that this steak was too, that pretty much I was wrong and she asked if I wanted a different main course but at this point I was very upset and said no just bring my dessert. Also my husband was almost finished with his main course.
In the end, Brandon had my meal taken off the bill and even a glass of wine. But my problem was with the woman practically claimed I was the one in the wrong. I couldn’t believe that she had the audacity to say what she did even when I cut into the middle of the filet that it was hardly any pink.
I will say, the atmosphere and view of this restaurant was beautiful and the wine selection excellent as well as our waiter, Brandon was excellent. Hopefully, my experience will not happen again to anyone else that dines there.
Everything was outstanding. The small extras we had along with the three course meal option were an excellent addition.
We were very disappointed with the Dining Room. I had the crab salad appetizer for a $15 up-charge on top of the $65 prix fixe price. The salad consisted of 3 cherry tomatoes, 3 thin curls of cucumber and 3 extremely small bites of crab, maybe a total of 1/2 ounce...maybe. My husband & I both ordered our filets medium rare and they were well done. I sent mine back and the second one was also well done. We were given a 20% discount. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Everything was perfect! And, the food was amazing!
Ambience was very good; however, entree was mediocre. Salmon was cooked properly but it had a stronger flavor than salmon should have. Thawed and refrozen? Plus, what spoiled this was it’s high amount of salt. The cioppino (Italian fish stew) was adequate but meager: 1 shrimp, 2 mussels, 1 clam, and 1 ?? The waiter poured a sauce/broth over it. Most went on the fish, some on my napkin. The dish was closer to the quantity of an appetizer.
Wonderful food served up artfully by our attentive waiters. Appreciated that it was quiet enough to talk at a normal volume. Thank you!
If you are looking for fine dining this is the place to go. We couldn’t have asked for better service and food. Our server Scott was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary and were very impressed by the ambiance, service, and food. I highly recommend the dinner service for a romantic evening.
I would like to give a special shout out to the staff ! From hostess and host to chef and servers.... They are all amazing! You will not be disappointed.
Great food , very attentive waiters, fantastic view of the estate. The whole history of the Biltmore and the details of the inn are just outstanding. A must stay .
Very high class good for a very special occasion. Very nice wine list and waiter was very attentive.
We chose the Dining Room at the Inn to celebrate our anniversary. The service was impeccable, the food excellent. We couldn't have been more pleased.
Best meal we ever had. All three courses were fresh, original, delicious with fantastic presentation. Our waiter Mr. Cole and his three assistants were attentive, informative, and personable. It was a fantastic dining experience which we highly recommend to anyone. A great value for the money!
Supper at The Dining Room is an elegant meal. From the chef's amusee of chilled pea soup to the pastry chef's extremely clever takes on traditional desserts was above and beyond our expectations. The ingredients were superb in their combinations and the presentations were simple elegance to uber creative. The dedicated staff is truly deserving of the Four-Star rating by Forbes Travel Guide. Our server had a thorough knowledge of all of the many wines offered as well as the ingredients to each dish offered. The wait staff did not hover, but gave us the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience. We look forward to another visit to The Dining Room.
The view is lovely, the service was superb and the food was great.
always a great place to have a nice quiet relaxing dinner, to celebrate or just have some fine food. Staff is always very pleasant and makes the evening much better... Hank was our maitre de and as always never disappoints...
Excellent in all respects, very creative cuisine, outstanding service and fine ambiance, views and location on the Biltmore Estate. FYI the location on the Open Table map link is incorrect as of August 4,2018. The restaurant is in the Inn on Biltmore Estate, not in the Biltmore House complex as depicted.
Appetizer and main course were very nice. The desserts were more complicated than they needed to be. I think a simpler approach would have been better. The service was outstanding and we really enjoyed the truffle scones!
Fabulous spot! The food was outstanding, and the service was spectacular. It was a perfect, lovely date night!
Can't do better for a special occasion dinner. The imaginative cuisine was outstanding with everything locally sourced. Highly recommend the 5 course tasking menu. Expensive but well worth it.
The menu features diversity and creativity. The Filet mignon was a tad overdone (I asked for medium) but very good otherwise. Pre-dinner bar service upstairs was most satisfactory.
Our waiter and meal for our anniversary was AMAZING!!
Great great dinner!
Fine dining in every sense. The wait staff is impeccable. The food is plated perfectly and the tastes were unique.
Outstanding food, perfect service, and beautiful dining room. It was a perfect experience.
The staff was very accommodating to my requests for our dinner.
We were celebrating an anniversary & had been married on the Estate and our window seat gave us the view we wanted of where we said our vows - dinner was superb!
Have eaten their before. Food not nearly as good as before. Presentation of plate was nice.
Ordered the duck and the chicken dishes for mains both came out cold the duck was flavorful but over cooked and cold.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday at The Dining Room at the Inn at Biltmore Estate. The service and ambience were truly outstanding. There are five course or three course options. We chose the three course which was ample. The cherry short rib appetizer was marvelous as were our entrees of salmon and chicken. The evening was topped off with a wonderful dessert.
We went to the Dining Room at the Inn of the Biltmore Estate twice. Once for tea, another time for dinner. Both occasions were exceptional. Tea options and associated food was creative and delicious. Service was flawless.
For dinner, the chef is creative, I had a vanilla and saffron lobster tail with bamboo infused sushi rice. Service, again was exceptional.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday with the 5 course dinner. Perhaps we expected too much for the $95. pp price tag. The food looked much better than it tasted. We were both very disappointed. I will say I had the special dessert of salted caramel ice and it was excellent but everything else was mediocre at best. My husband ordered the rice pudding for his dessert and only ate a few bites as he didn’t care for it at all. We will not be going back.
Service was outstanding, food was just a little above avg.
We celebrated our 19th anniversary! Thank you for excellent service and a delicious meal!
The food, service and ambiance was outstanding. All the staff was courteous and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Wonderful dining experience throughly enjoyed the evening. Hank, our waiter was exceptional. A fun elegant evening for my wife and I.
Exquisite! Selected the three-course prix fixe menu with tomato salad, poached lobster tail and s'mores creme brûlée. Wow, it was amazing! The service was outstanding as well. All in all, a wonderful experience.
It was a lovely evening at the Inns. Our servers we wonderful, the head server was very informative. The food was terrific. The atmosphere was lovey and the views were breathtaking.
Lovely setting. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented. Staff friendly and helpful. We had both dinner and breakfast buffet there.
I was pleased that they allowed us to share a three course meal and were able to assist us with substitute dishes to accommodate our garlic and onion allergies. And they allowed one of our guests to have gravy and eggs prepared according to his special needs. Very nice upscale venue for a special meal.
We had really hi expectations and in the end none of them were met. It was our first visit to the Biltmore and the dining room. The service was just OK. We each had a tomato salad that was composed of stale and mealy tomatoes. I had the filet for an entrée first it took over 30 minutes to get served and then it was over cooked. They brought another it was cooked to the right temperature but I believe they must have done it in the microwave it certainly had that taste. Then greens under the filet were very good. Desert was the coconut rice pudding. It was certainly not what I expected more of a hockey puck of dehydrate rice something with smuckers type jelly on top. This was our 18th anniversary celebration so we were more than a little disappointed. The vibe in the restaurant is kind of a dated feel not old enough to be cool and not new enough to be either.
We were ready to pack up and leave the Biltmore as we love good food and service and that was key to our weekend. Fortunately we tried the café at the house and it was fabulous and then dined at the bistro and it was another fantastic experience. In my view the dining room is over priced and overrated you will be much happier at any of the other establishments on the property.
Service was absolutely great! Both my husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. Lovely view until sunset. I had a lamb dish and husband had pork tenderloin. Both meals were prepared well and plating was lovely. I had rather high expectations and was not disappointed. Would eat there again if in the area.
