Best place in Asheville!! Truly fine dining. We come here at least twice per year and have never been disappointed. Hank has been our reqyested server and is excellent
My wife and I have enjoyed the Dining Room at Biltmore Inn many times and have never been disappointed! We’ve celebrated various special occasions there as a couple, with our children, and with best friends. We will absolutely return!
My wife and I had enjoyed The Dining Room once before and decided to stay at the Inn and have dinner for our 40th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes before our 6:30 reservation and were told by the young lady who greeted us they were on schedule and we could not be seated until 6:30 and that we could wait upstairs in the hotel lobby or at the bar. (There were plenty of tables available). So we went back upstairs had a drink and returned. After that rough start, everything was great. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the menu and preparation of the food. The presentation of each dish was a work of art and added to our enjoyment. We had a nice bottle of wine with dinner and were enjoying ourselves in this beautiful and elegant setting, until 3 women, 1 with an infant baby were seated in the dining room. They were pushing a large stroller and alternately held the infant or pushed it around in the stroller. Before long the baby began to cry and fuss. One woman took the infant to the restroom for awhile, but returned. They put it in the stroller and pushed it to the back of the dining room and before long it could be heard wailing again. We elected to finish our dinner since we were well along and before we left asked to see the manager. We complimented our waiters, the food, and the experience except for the obvious. The managers response was not as empathetic as I would have expected. We felt they should have been more proactive at having an age limit (not younger than 6 for ex.). Or might have suggested to the thoughtless trio they try one of the other available restaurants in the hotel. There were other patrons in the dining room probably like us, celebrating a special occasion or just trying to enjoy some fine dining in a beautiful, classy setting in front of a roaring fire. Everyone present sacrificed full enjoyment.
Excellent in every way. Great anniversary.
It was perfect!
If as much attention were paid to preparing a meal with flavor and taste as is paid to the pretension, it would be a great experience. However, bland, disappointing food accompanied by a most pretentious manner.
Dinning room was freezing cold. Service was slow. Food was overpriced and of the five courses only one was edible. Charged a higher price on bill from what was on our original menu. Will not go back and would not recommend this restaurant.
We we're celebrating my wife's birthday and we had the best experience anyone could ask for. The food was fantastic and the service made us feel like royalty. We decided on the five course option and, although it was a lot of food, we were happy we made that choice. I'm sure the three course option would've been plenty of food, but we are foodies and there were so many yummy options, we wanted to try as many different offerings as possible. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. Worth every penny!
Great food and ambiance. Perfect place for that special night out.
Birthday visit for the wife
An amazing experience with impeccable service and exquisite food! Our service and experience was also elevated by our server, Hank! He was so kind and made us feel so special!
Very upscale dining place. It was more formal than I was expecting. Should have checked our bill before we left as we were charged for the wrong drink. But all in all, service was good and food was very good.
Another fabulous dining experience! Scott is simply the best server we've ever had. Be prepared to feel like a modern day guest of the Vanderbilts!
We were 4 people for dinner. Scott our waiter was outstanding. There are two options for dinner. Three or Five courses. We all had the 3 course meal with wine pairings. It was outstanding. The She Crab soup was a highlight. The Dining Room is a traditional southern ambiance. The waitstaff could not have been more accommodating.
We went the week after Christmas. A PERFECT time to go. All the holiday decorations are still up. The crowds are gone.
Wonderful atmosphere, warm and attentive staff. Food was delicious, with a big enough
selection to satisfy all. The room was elegant without being stuffy. Would definitely
recommend and will definitely be back!
Food was good. Waiter was attentive. Only negative was the hostess. The two of us were to be seated at a table set for two at the very edge of the dining room. I requested a vacant table in the center of the room but my request was denied due to the "table was set for 3". Apparently it could not be reset. The table remained vacant the whole time we were there.
My cousin and I had a beautiful day at Biltmore and this was a perfect end to the day! Highly recommend!
Service and ambiance were excellent. The menu was very creative with some interesting combinations that you might expect to see on The Food Network. The food was very good.
The food and service at The Dining Room is impeccable. One of the finest dining experiences we’ve ever had - highly recommend!
The food selections were varied. I liked the option of three or four courses. The sizes were great and just enough so that you could eat it all without feeling like you were going to waste food. Our server was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about the selections and made great suggestions when we asked. They also had gluten free food and bread options which was very nice for those of us who need that option.
Service was good. Could have been better.
Excellent 3-course dinner in a romantic, elegant atmosphere! Beautifully decorated for the holidays. We were able to relax, take our time and enjoy a memorable anniversary dinner.
My fiancé and I took our moms here for their birthdays - I think they were even more delighted than we were! Our third time here and still not a single disappointment. The service and food are both top notch.
Such a wonderful experience. The staff were all fabulous. Tay was our server - she treated us so well and made us feel so special celebrating our 33rd anniversary. The food was outstanding and the cream brûlée was the best we’ve ever had - thank you!
Excellent service, food, ambience...
My favorite place to dine..
As always, our dinner at the Dining Room on the Biltmore Estate was outstanding! Our server Stuart and his assistant Desmond made our evening so special with their attentive service. We love coming here for special occasions and can’t wait for the next opportunity to visit!
wonderful menu, extensive wine list. we had excellent service. We had a late evening reservation and the second to the last couple to leave that night. We never once felt rushed to leave.
A very exquisite restaurant to share with your better half.
The food was much better when we ate there 2 years ago (we couldnt stop talking about it). Not sure what has changed, but for the price, we expected much better. I am not sure we will go back.
Wonderful evening, and holiday experience. Plan to go for milestone birthdays.
Everyone was amazing. Great staff!!!
This was the best meal we have ever enjoyed! The meal was pricey, but perfect for our special occasion. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant
The Dining Room is ultimate elegance. Our server, Scott, was excellent. The food was very good and the wine he recommended superb. The price is high but so is everything Biltmore which we expected.
What a beautiful setting for a romantic dinner to celebrate our birthdays - and a Christmas time visit to the Biltmore. Everything about the evening was just perfect - from the beautiful fireplace and comfortable seats to the exceptional food. It was expensive but so worth every dollar we spent.
My husband and I were visiting Biltmore and stayed on property at the Village Hotel. Since this was our Christmas present to each other, we decided to have a nice meal at the Dining Room at the Inn at Biltmore. While the food was really good, the cost outweighs the food. Our bill including tip was around $300. I had 2 glasses of champagne, and a 2 course meal, with 2 supplemental charges, and a chamomile tea at the end, while my husband had 4 mich ultras, 3 course meal with 1 supplemental charge. While my steak tartar was absolutely amazing, and my lobster fantastic, the escargot were a little on the earthy side for me. (BTW, I love escargot, so this was not my first experience) My husband had the short rib and his comment was when you are spending the money we are, we should not be able to make better short ribs at home. (side note, we are not chefs, just like to cook). He also said that he had the Chili Rubbed Ribeye, and said it was one of his top 5 steaks of all time, but the question is was it worth the $300 price tag? For dessert, they made special concessions for us since we are on a low carb diet and allowed us a dessert of a cheese plate and a berry plate. While my lobster and steak tartar were amazing, and the steak fantastic, not sure we can justify the price tag again. Service was impeccable of course, and the ambiance was really nice as well. If you have the expendable cash, feel free as the food was really good. But if you are on a budget, choose another estate restaurant. We spent half as much the day before at the bistro and liked it just as much.
Amazing dining experience! Food is great and service was awesome.
Portions of many dishes insultingly small, I began laughing when my husband's two dots of venison arrived. Worst part is, my husband, who eats all over the world, had gastric issues after eating there. Restaurant was good enough to credy hotel bill for meal, hopefully this gets resolved soon as the rest of the Biltmore experience was stellar
Four of us ate dinner and all four of us came out with similar thoughts. I also have to add that I am not a picky eater. Service was very good, Appetizer (soup) and dinner (filet) was very good although the sides were almost non existent, desert was not good (three out of four barely touched it). I also don't like my filet and vegetables/potatoes layered on top of one another. You have this huge plate and yet you only use 1/10th of it for the food ... why? I think you try to make it art instead of concentrating on taste and portions. My main meal is dinner, and for your prices, I don't think people should come out not being satisfied. I do have to say that the coffee was very good. It would have been nice to serve it in a bigger coffee cup or put a pot of it on the table so we didn't have to get the attention of someone for more. I also have to add that we had the buffet breakfast the next morning and that was very good! Wishing you a Happy New Year!
It was spectacular! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and an extensive wine menu. It was an extremely relaxing and enjoyable evening! Well worth it!
A menu with delightful options- and each dish was superb. Waitstaff highly trained- made us feel like royalty. A memorable evening.
