Upmarket late breakfast with friends in the restaurant area of this all day dining venue. Great vegetarian breakfast, they helpfully substituted fried mushrooms for egg. Quiet mid morning but rapidly filled up by lunchtime. We could have stayed all day!
It was a delightful experience as usual however I do think the restaurant is squeezing in more tables and it’s as a result the experience isn’t what it used to be. Also I found it louder than usual but it was an early sitting so I hope it was just that 18:00 time slot.
You can always rely on fantastic service and good quality food and a menu that covers some old time favourites please don’t change we like you the way you are !
Food was very good and staff were good at getting us fed in time to get to the opera house without chasing. Our only disappointment was our table location which they couldn’t change. Would definitely recommend.
Took my cousin as a treat. Loved the enviroment and menu was a reminder of our grandmother. Thank u we loved our night
Went to the Delaunay mid afternoon Saturday when they were serving a number of menus - afternoon tea & the brunch. It feels like an all day brasserie. The restaurant is a classy operation and you pay for that. I would say that the charges are definitely on the high side eg charging a cover charge plus 12.5% service. But the service is slick and the food is good. A very reliable restaurant.
Service was quite slow but food was excellent and we enjoyed our pre theatre lunch.
It was pleasant to be there and the mood was perfect!
Great afternoon tea experience
Staff are rude. They even got into a shouting match with a woman at another table who left something and came back for it after they’d stopped serving but had a lot of people still there. They told her she’d have to come back the next day to retrieve her purse. It disrupted the whole place.
very lacklustre food and largely disinterested staff.
Excellent food, wait staff was disinterested at best.
I enjoy the Delaunay. It's always reliable. However, this time the service really wasn't up to much, and we kept feeling forgotten and having to call our waiter over who had priorities elsewhere. I'm hoping it's a one-off experience, so I shall be back.
Relaxed informal atmosphere with good service
As always, good food and very good service. Love the ambiance of this place.
Just perfect as all Jamie Kings restaurants. We love all of them
Enjoyed an early evening meal on Christmas Eve. Delicious food in a lovely environment.
First rate breakfast. The bacon and egg roll was seriously good!
Good food, great service, and cozy ambiance
Just superb - food, wine, ambience, service. Everything, Highly recommended.
We have dined here on numerous occasions & regardless of the time of day the food & service are always excellent & of a very high standard.
We would highly recommend you dine here.
This is one of our favourite restaurants in London. The decor is reminiscent of a lovely Grand European cafe and the atmosphere is buzzy without being too noisy. If you can, ask for one of the booths by the windows! The food is excellent. Can recommend trying the Tartes Flambées (a sort of very thin pizza) which are an excellent starter to share. The Schnitzels are delicious but worth nothing that the Chicken Schnitzel is served on its own so definitely worth having the endive salad as an accompaniment. If you still have room for dessert the Kaiserschmarrn (a sort of warm torn pancake with a plum compote) is sublime. Great restaurant for dinner with friends or family!
Had a wonderful time, fab food, realistic prices and the staff were just lovely and went back the next day for coffee and strudel !! Cannot wait for our next trip to London and another visit here :)
The service was a little slow but the food and wine was delicious.
We always enjoy the Delaunay with its lovely ambience and enjoyable food. Just love their tartes flambe and Wiener Holstein
Was an excellent meal. So good that I couldn't finish it all! They made our anniversary very special. I will visit next time I'm in London.
I love this restaurant! From the moment you are greeted by the lovely Luca it is a sublime experience. The room is gorgeous, great service and the food is excellent.
Wonderful Christmas atmosphere in a place that balances tradition with a lively atmosphere. The starters were outstanding, but some of our main courses did not land very well. E.g. the Duck Confit was on an overpowering tomato base with strongly flavoured sausages that overpowered the duck. Make sure you like the German kitchen before you go.
A perfect Friday treat evening! Gorgeous food and drinks (I had the trout and my boyfriend had a wurst with potato salad, both excellent), really nice service - friendly and the right amount of attentiveness, without being pushy or too in-your-face, and we didn’t feel at all rushed even though the restaurant was very busy. And all in a lovely old-fashioned setting; proper foodie escapism, loved it :)
One of my favourite restaurants in London with fantastic service and a beautiful menu.
Perfect for pre or post teathre
We are going to The Delaunay every year for our Anniversary.
We have been welcomed by a great member of the staff and we have been looked after by a nice Maître D’. His good manners have been spotted and appreciated.
I would definitely recommend the Delaunay to anyone looking for a great moment and to experience the pleasure to be spoiled.
PS: please look at the freshness of the scones ;)
Lovely spot for afternoon tea. Food is delicious and our waitress was adorable
The Delaunay is our favourite place for breakfast in London. Once again, it did not disappoint with great food and service.
We really must try it later in the day too!
Enjoy dining at Delaunay. Food is somewhat predictable middle European but of high quality. Service excellent. Medium price. It is very noisy but if can you bear it - it’s always fun to eat there.
Jamie King is the king if it's about how to run a restaurant
So pleased a friend told me about this place. Great food and decor. Super staff.
Wonderful as always.
Menu is quite conventional, but each dish was prepared carefully and to a high standard. We need more of these places
