   Absolutely loved The Darling. The hush puppies are addictive, we ended up getting 2 orders. My husband said the scallops were the best he’s ever had. Lobster roll was delicious, and my son enjoyed his burger. Also collards were so flavorful. Our server George was so friendly and helpful with suggestions. Cocktails were excellent. If we lived in the area we would come here all the time.

   Great food. Server recommendations were spot on. Shrimp and grits, fabulous, oysters were the best and the hush puppies with their maple butter were so good…had a second serving for desert!

   Great selection of oysters and their crab cakes were our favorite. The staff was friendly and professional. It was a great meal for our first night in Charleston. Should have come back for a second before we left!

   Food was outstanding. We tried a variety of oysters and they were fresh and delicious. The crab dip was the best we ever had. The scallops and the shrimp and grits were great too. I would definitely recommend.

   Wow, such a great vibe. The food was phenomenal, Michael was an excellent server. His suggestions were amazing. Such a great personality. Kieth was the oyster shucker he was very personable and friendly. If I am on Charleston again it will be my go to place. Seafood was so fresh. The fried oyster were good but a little over cooked but I would still order again.

   Very fun evening in this energetic oyster bar. If you want to be part of the action, request a table in the room with the bar and oyster bar. Part of the fun was the hustle and bustle around the oyster bar. Food was good and reasonably priced. The crab dip was a great starter, scallops were very good, and you've gotta have the hushpuppies! Our server was friendly and helpful with suggestions!

   May have been what we ordered, but was not wowed. Locals all love it and we were excited to go. We did not go for the oysters but did try a broad selections of the rest of the menu.

    Fabulous local oysters and very knowledgeable servers. The front room is a great vibe. Came later for brunch and the crab cake benedict was delicious and came with a side salad that exceeded expectations.

    The Darling Oyster Bar was fun! The wait staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great dining experience. The atmosphere is light and reminiscent of a place that old friends gather to catch and regulars stop by to eat with neighbors on the way home. We had a sampling of several menu items and all were delicious- you must order the hush puppies!!

    We were seated at a 2-top next to the wait station and right by the kitchen exit. The food was good but the table experience was like being in Grand Central Station as waiters hurried back and forth. Also, our waiter forgot one of our dishes. Mistakes happen, but rather than apologize or explain she acted as if nothing was wrong even though the dish in question arrived 15 minutes after the other entree. I think we would have had an enjoyable meal and better service seated in the main dining area rather than in a hallway.

    My wife and went here during our time visiting Charleston. The food was excellent. The service was very, very outstanding. Michael P. was knowledgeable about the menu and the food prep. He also is extremely knowledgeable about the Charleston area. He paid attention to every detail we mentioned on what we needed at the table. I travel extensively and rarely find someone this attentive!

    One of the best seafood dining experiences I’ve had in quite a while! Out waiter was very helpful and efficient. He recommended the catch of the day which was soft-shelled clams on a bed of spinach and risotto with a tomato jam. I have to say everything was great but the tomato jam took it to a new level. We had a baked oyster appetizer which was excellent also! Will definitely come back on our next visit!

    We had a reservation and we were excited about dining at your restaurant; however, we were disappointed about being seated in the drab, sad side area of the restaurant. It felt too far removed from the more vibrant main dining room with better atmosphere. If it wasn’t for our spectacular server, Kate, we would have probably left. If this “overspill” area can be improved upon, and made to not feel like a storage room, your patrons will be much happier. One idea would be to remove some of the shelves on the back of the bar to open up the space so you could at least see into the larger room. Oh well. About some of the food we ordered: loved the clams and oyster shooters. Hush puppies were also delicious. Thanks again to Kate for the key lime pie recommendation and the fresh coffee!

    Oysters tasted great, but it’s hard to them up if we are being honest. Lobster roll was terrible, it was cold and wet, simply cold lobster in a bun, nothing else. All the food tasted bland. 4/10

    Our server Joe was great! He was knowledgeable, friendly, competent AND from Rhode Island! The shrimp creole was outstanding and portion was plenty for meal. Shrimp cocktail and oysters excellent. And everyone raved about the key lime pie. Go with the creole!!!!!

    Started off with Oyster Shooters which were on target. Followed the shooters with a sample of each style of baked oyster. We ordered a second of the Alabama White Sauce with Bacon if that's any indication of which we preferred. Can't go wrong with the Hushpuppies with Sorghum Butter. The Hushpuppies didn't come with my entree, but I stole a few from my wife when she went to the restroom. She got the Lobster Roll for her meal. It must have been good...because she didn't offer me a taste. I got the Fresh Catch of the Day which was Seared Tuna with Sesame Seed Crust on a bed of Rice. It was awesome. I'd definitely order again. The only thing better than the meal was the world-class service provided by our waiter, Mike. Mike was very knowledgeable of the menu and quick to respond to our needs. I'll be back!

    Darling lived up to the hype. George, our waiter, made it a wonderful evening. He is one of those experienced service people, who takes the order and gets it right without writing it down. Every detail was fulfilled...even for the friend whose flight was late. George had her order timed perfectly. The food was excellent. The unique combination of flavors in the cocktails, the ceviche, the crab cakes and the shrimp & grits made for a memorable food experience as well as overall wonderful atmosphere. Reservations a must!
