The Cottage Wellesley
We partnered with Taniya Nayak, a featured interior designer on popular Food Network programs such as ‘Restaurant Impossible’ to transform the once light-flooded, beach-like, SoCal atmosphere to a warm, lively, and New England-comfort interior. Enjoy an emphasis on natural woods, live greenery, and pops of welcomed fresh color in the new interior and brand.
The Cottage will remain the same tried-and-true neighborhood eatery with a re-defined focus on local, fresh, and honest product, for the whole family, every day. The Cottage Wellesley’s new menu is created by Culinary Director, Peter Hansen, who brings his vast experience from all over the world to Wellesley, MA. In his career, Hansen has appeared on six episodes of Iron Chef and has worked alongside incredible culinary talent such as Michael White and Bobby Flay.

Been here a few times. Food is always good. Service average. Ambiance is nice up beat and friendly.
Great Brunch! We will definitely be going back soon.
The kitchen was a disaster, left before got our food.
We ate on the outdoor patio. Had sea scallops which were excellent.
Excellent experience from making the reservations to paying the bill. Great food! Excellent service! Great place for a girls night to catch up with old friends. We closed the place down, but never felt rushed or pressured to leave. Will be back again very soon!
Great business lunch spot that is sophisticated enough to cover any meeting but also casual enough to be enjoyable and pressure-free. Had a great lunch here with our team ordering from all sides of the menu. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
Wonderful location and lovely place to eat both inside and outside. The staff wear mask which is welcomed.
Great place to have dinner with friends and family. Excellent food, wonderful service.
Wonderful lunch outside at The Cottage! Salad, fish, and eggs Benedict were all good.
Our first time at this restaurant. Overall good but not anything special.
Very noisy. They poured a ton of salt in our food so much that we could almost see the results in our hands, etc., We are not likely to go back.
The smell of fish when you enter the restaurant was overwhelming, especially when you need to stand there to check in.
The service was actually good, but may too good. Our drinks came out in five minutes and our dinner followed in about four minutes. The food was not cooked to order. I understand that seating outside is at premium as the tables needed to be turned over. My fish tacos did not serve well under those conditions. When the food arrived within ten minutes of our sitting down, I felt rushed. I hope this is useful feed back.
The fish tacos were not good. They used to be so flavorful with sides of guacamole and picante. Now they just have a mound of cabbage thrown atop. Please talk to the chef. The fish tacos you made a couple of years back were profoundly better.
Entree Salads are very small for a meal.
Please add more menu items. The menu is old and a big ho-hum.
Nice server who was very attentive and efficient!
Waitress was extremely nice and friendly
4th time dinning at The Cottage. As a resident, it remains my favorite local restaurant in town.
I Enjoyed my lunch at Cottage with my friend a few days ago.
Oh cottage you are back to your unfriendly days and slovenly ways.
Nothing says ‘We suck’ more than a hostess being nasty to customers on the phone, filthy floors, sticky menus or the waiter refusing to bring us a dinner because brunch isn’t over for 16 minutes!
Ps we left but many thanks for confirming we completed our reservation - ignorance is kind of the overall vibe.
We went to the Cottage to celebrate my wife's birthday. Overall, we had a positive experience. Like most in the restaurant industry, they were under-staffed. However, our server did the best she could to serve us in a timely manner. The food was quite good, and we especially enjoyed our calamari appetizer. My only complaint would be the noise from the street (we were seated roadside). But it was a small complaint given our overall experience.
You have such a wonderful restaurant. We generally come once a week. Your food is great and you have a wonderful team – everyone is so nice (and professional). We wish it were easier to get a table outside, but I suppose everyone would like that. Inside can be a little noisy, although not too bad, so we ask for the PDR. We also like to east at your bard, which is very nicely done. Your attention to detail is excellent – it shows in everything you have done.
We dine here frequently....why, because it's about the best there is in New England.
The ambience, food and waiters are superb!
They totally aim to please you and they do, no matter how unusual your request
might be.....like requesting a second cloth napkin to make a placemat!
Bottom line........it's a wonderful restaurant.
Great Sunday brunch menu!
Good just ok. Probably won’t return especially for dinner.
Steak was …unfortunate
Magnificent service—friendly and attentive to our gluten-free needs. Always feel safe and welcome at the Cottage
It was a great night out. The food was so good. Lobster sandwich is not to be missed. And our waitress Gabby, outstanding!!!!
We were seated in the back alcove by ourselves. It was cold and the waitstaff was largely nonexistent. Food came out a dish at a time. Mine was the last dish, delivered more than 7min after the others had their food. It was the easiest dish. Overcooked fish tacos with a little pool of oil in the bottom of the soft taco shell. Spicy, with guacamole and sauce. Guacamole and sauce were unseasoned and did nothing to cool the spice. Flooded with cabbage. Sweet potato fries were mediocre.
The meal and service were good. The pit side seating was nice. I feel that the prices are high for what you get. My salad was small and had just five shrimp in it for the price. I think the value is not there. It was not before the pandemic and is still not there during the pandemic.
Food and service were outstanding. Love the ambiance. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Lobster sauté entree cost was $35. Dish consisted mostly of zucchini and cream sauce. Lobster might have been 3-4 ounces. Ripoff!
Fabulous food & service as usual.
Very nice waiter. Great food. Has the burger. Perfectly cooked and AMAZING fries
Excellent all around
We had a wonderful time celebrating a friend’s birthday. The service was terrific and the food was delicious. The food is always consistent and all of our meals were exceptionally good yesterday. Nice outside area to sit and was not too noisy inside. One of my favorite places to have lunch!!
Went for lunch with a friend. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking, fresh food, friendly service.
Lovely Patio with nice flower edges on a quiet plaza.
We enjoyed our visit, had excellent food and service. We were concerned about noise and so we arrived early for dinner (around 5:15PM). The restaurant was mostly empty at that time so we got a nice table and were able to converse at a normal voice level. By the time we were wrapping up a couple hours later the noise level was rising and we were starting to have to raise our voices. But every other aspect of the meal was top notch. Truly attentive service, diverse menu, great wine selection. So definitely recommend but if you're there at prime dining hour you might find yourselves shouting.
Great food great service!
Ask for Kevin. He’s great
Have a great lunch!! Service was very nice. Patio seating was warm but the wait staff moved the umbrellas aground. Would highly recommend!! Dessert was not impressive.
If you don’t want this review as is just forget it!
Consistently great food and service. A neighborhood gem.
