The Cottage Wellesley
We partnered with Taniya Nayak, a featured interior designer on popular Food Network programs such as ‘Restaurant Impossible’ to transform the once light-flooded, beach-like, SoCal atmosphere to a warm, lively, and New England-comfort interior. Enjoy an emphasis on natural woods, live greenery, and pops of welcomed fresh color in the new interior and brand.
The Cottage will remain the same tried-and-true neighborhood eatery with a re-defined focus on local, fresh, and honest product, for the whole family, every day. The Cottage Wellesley’s new menu is created by Culinary Director, Peter Hansen, who brings his vast experience from all over the world to Wellesley, MA. In his career, Hansen has appeared on six episodes of Iron Chef and has worked alongside incredible culinary talent such as Michael White and Bobby Flay.

We had a very pleasant lunch experience yesterday at The Cottage. All staff were very friendly and professional, the noise level was perfect (maybe partially to do with it not being particularly crowded at the time), and the food was delicious and nicely presented.
Sunday brunch was delicious. The Cottage has an interesting brunch menu and they were very busy with cheerful customers!
Nice room, food tasty, well prepared and served, cordial service— just a touch slow in preset taking, but otherwise fine! The Cottage is one of our regular “go to’s” for casual dining and we definitely be going back often in the future!
The Cottage serves reliably good food. They have a decent selection of wines by the glass. Overall the servers are friendly and helpful. I find that the food can be salty though - and for someone who eats and cooks low - sodium, it can be frustrating. They change their menu seasonally - but I would love to see them do it even more frequently.
The food was good. Unfortunately one of our member had a hair in their food. The service was not great and they were not busy. We had to ask for things several times.
It was way too crowded given current conditions
Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you we are following all guidelines advised by the cdc.
Always delicious food - menu could be updated once in a while. Our server Karen was wonderful. Very pleasant and accommodating. Thank you.
Always love the Cottage! Go to spot in Wellesley!
It was lovely. Brianna was busy. Extremely sweet and attentive. Everything was yummy.
Service was very good. Coffee was a little weak and English muffin for my lobster Benedict was a little too crispy. My husband liked his soup and salad. And our friends enjoyed their meals. Otherwise overall was good.
food was excellent and out door seating perfect even with a bit of rain - nice under the umbrellas
Pretty noisy (we sat inside), but we liked the food a lot. Chicken milanese was not overcooked or dry, fish and chips (I asked for sweet potato fries instead of "regular") was yummy
Everything was very good. I felt the wine prices were a little high. Very pleasant waitress. the only downside was when the restaurant was full, it was extremely noisy. But otherwise a very pleasant experience
The last 4 times I have been to the Cottage this summer the experience has been beyond disappointing. As a regular customer who relies on a certain quality of food and service, I was very dissatisfied with both.
All 4 times, the tables were dirty as was the entire seating area and floor. This is completely unacceptable in this covid environment. The food order came wrong multiple times and had to be sent back. Our server this last time was very unfriendly and rude. There were such delays that we were not able to finish our meal. The servers clearing the tables even dropped many glasses on the floor and they were stepped on.
Definitely an overwhelmed restaurant with a new chef and unqualified staff.
The tortilla soup is always a good choice.
We both had entree salads with shrimp, also always a solid bet.
Wish the wines were a bit less pricey.
Very good experience, loved the decor and a very fun environment
This place is a favorite for good food and friendly service.
This was my fourth visit to the cottage. Great food and service every time.
Our waiter was fantastic. He was kind and fun and very warm.
Kevin our server took excellent care of us. It was a very full room, and he was attentive and personable. My husband said the tuna nachos were the best thing he had ever tasted. We both had the excellent chicken piccata, and shared the brownie sundae. Perfect evening.
No air conditioning. Ruined our dinner. So disappointing.
We reserved a table for 6 pm on a Saturday night in summer; we were seated immediately, and received prompt and friendly service from our novice server (she told us she was new) There is no masking at this restaurant by any staff or customers. Drinks and food came out promptly, and everything was tasty. Not memorable, but nice food options. We were hoping for some more creative appetizers. The lobster roll had A LOT of celery, and was barely worth the $31 price tag.
Very enjoyable dinner
The server was annoying, but we like this place overall.
Lots of good food and drink options as well as excellent service. They also had many gluten free options.
We had reservations and were out in the small room used for group functions. I regret not asking to be moved. It was very noisy. Also, had the lobster sandwich which was very disappointing. Other members of my party enjoyed their salads.
The atmosphere is very nice, the food was great and the service was awesome. highly recommend.
I was disappointed with my dining experience at The Cottage after having a few great experiences there over the past five years. The dining room was uncomfortably warm and the lighting was too high. Our server was attentive but difficult to understand with a mask on which I understand is not her fault. All four meals that my party were mediocre (fish and chips, southwest salad w/ shrimp ($11 for 4 med shrimp), salmon, and scallops) and they were overpriced for the quality. Bottom line - there is a lot of competition out there and there are better places to eat in the Wellesley area.
This was our first time back to the Cottage since the pandemic started and it was nice to go back to one of our favorite local restaurants. We sat on the patio, the weather was perfect, our server Shannon was outstanding. I had the Ahi Tuna Nachos for the first time, and it was delicious. It is on the appetizer list but it was more than enough for dinner. My husband had the burger and it was good, but the patty was a bit thinner than he would have liked. All and all it was a delightful welcome back for us.
Food was not hot.
It is always great! Food, and service is always top notch!
food was very good and service was excellent...which I know if a feat given the shortage of servers
My favorite is the stuffed avocado with chicken salad. It is tasty with apples, golden raisins and walnuts. You may also have tuna in one half or both. It is a lovely presentation with butter lettuce, tomato , pickled onions and quinoa. It is a generous portion with leftovers. My friend splurged and had a brownie sundae. It had 3 brownies and 3 scoops of ice cream covered in sauce and she finished it. A great place to dine.
The cottage never ceases to amaze me… Their food is outstanding but this time was a particularly wonderful experience. I arrived in crutches with my party of two and they were gracious and kind to see me in a oversized booth during a busy lunch hour to accommodate my handicap needs. I will never forget this wonderful display of compassion and I’m very grateful for their hospitality during my time if need.
Lovely experience. Service food great.
Did not like fish tacos- too wet- made with mahi-prefer cod or similar white fish.
Fourth visit, always top notch food and outstanding service.
Great salads and drinks Beautifully served Great place for lunch Suggest making a reservation for lunch as it gets very busy
So enjoyed lunching at THE COTTAGE once again..
After more than a year of isolation it was truly a treat.
However, the noise level really takes away from an enjoyable meal
Understaffed. Took a long time to get our order in and receive it. Drinks ordered off drink menu, were nothing like description, Steve McQueen and Old Thymer tasted like a Whiskey Sour and a very sweet Old Fashioned with no hint of pear or thyme. Risotto was undercooked to the point of being crunchy, though scallops were perfect. The air conditioning had my teeth chattering. This is the first time we've been back since lockdown and it is clear they are having a hard time with the new normal maybe it was just the holiday but will wait a few months before we go back.
