The Cottage Wellesley
We partnered with Taniya Nayak, a featured interior designer on popular Food Network programs such as ‘Restaurant Impossible’ to transform the once light-flooded, beach-like, SoCal atmosphere to a warm, lively, and New England-comfort interior. Enjoy an emphasis on natural woods, live greenery, and pops of welcomed fresh color in the new interior and brand.
The Cottage will remain the same tried-and-true neighborhood eatery with a re-defined focus on local, fresh, and honest product, for the whole family, every day. The Cottage Wellesley’s new menu is created by Culinary Director, Peter Hansen, who brings his vast experience from all over the world to Wellesley, MA. In his career, Hansen has appeared on six episodes of Iron Chef and has worked alongside incredible culinary talent such as Michael White and Bobby Flay.
herb marinated + boneless, garlicky green beans, buttermilk mashed potatoes
Ahi Tuna Nicoise
baby greens, new potatoes, haricot verts, nicoise olives, tomatoes, sliced eggs, lemon basil dressing
organic argula or house salad
All was great as usual, including service and quality of food.
Great brunch is a dying art--The Cottage is an exception to that rule. Interesting choices, Lemon Ricotta pancakes were perfect and my dining companions said the eggs beny were terrific as well. Will make this a frequent stop on Sunday.
Absolutely delicious! Love, love the chicken Milanese and had a a yummy cocktail too. Would definitely recommend.
We had a delicious brunch! Service was great and staff is so welcoming !
Great Service and Food! Menu not overwhelming and features a good variety of dishes to cover all kinds of tastes.
We had an extremely tasty meal with superb service by Arthur. Highly recommend the chicken tortilla soup, arugula salad, chicken Milanese, chicken piccata, and the scallops. The chicken Milanese was exceptionally special. It is also worth pointing out that the restaurant is spacious and the seats are not close together at all.
Yummy lunch date! It was very loud, service was a little slow but they were packed so it’s understandable. Friendly waiter and the destress drink was soooo good!! Thank you for a great lunch
Yummy lobster sandwich and great calamari!
Excellent food and great to see so many really good gluten free options as well. One member in our party has a gluten allergy and it can be difficult finding restaurants with enough choices for them, especially choices that are appealing.
Love this place!! Food is always amazing, their Nacho’s are a stable
Food and service were great. I will definitely come back!
Hamburger was tasty and not overpriced. Service above average. Gluten free menu available
Service was outstanding . Food was good, highly recommend for dinner and cocktails !
Always reliably tasty, and super fresh. nice selections- including healthy ones. Nice wines too. Service is always kind and sincere.
We had a very nice lunch. The staff was mostly attentive & accommodating, however it was a little noisy & difficult to have a conversation.
Always enjoyable. Food is very good. Chicken Milanese is exceptional. Highly recommend.
Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent! I will definitely return.
Such a wonderful experience here. As someone with a dietary resource felt well taken care of. The food was great. There were no waits and the service was awesome.
Had lunch here with a few friends and we were quite disappointed. The ambience is great but the food and drinks were both mediocre. Overpriced for the quality of food.
The wine was awful and fish taco tasteless.
Overall good experience but it looks like they are struggling like most places with line lever staff. The server we had was personable, but needs some development on service basics (touching water glasses at the top of the glass, not using trays when bringing over cocktails (ordered a martini and he came over with drink in one hand, spilling it all over the place, and olives in the other hand, which he placed directly on the bare table instead of in the martini or even on a beverage nap).
I put the ambiance as a 3 because the restaurant is so loud. We love eating here, but my 95 year old mother can hardly hear any conversation because of the noise level. Food is fantastic and servers very helpful.
Terrific food and service, thank you for a lovely meal!
The chicken picata was yummy ,
Service was good and we liken the gluten free options. Our waitress was nice and the the food was delivered in a timely manner.
Wait person was slow checking on us. Needed a drink refill & didn’t see her for a while. Didn’t offer or bring bread.
Our food was good. My chicken picatta was delicious, one out of about 6 pieces of chicken was a bit tough but the flavor made up for it. My Dad's short rib pasta was great. My mother's cod hash wasn't very flavorful at all. The bread and butter here is always warm and yummy. My cocktail (which I ordered without the elderflower) was delicious.
HOWEVER...the noise was terrible. I know many families with young children come here but there were plenty of seats towards the middle they could have sat a family with three unruly kids and two even louder parents, besides in the booth right behind us. The waiter would match their volume when he visited their table as well. I had to wait for rare moments of slightly dulled yelling to be able to speak to my mom sitting next to me in the booth. We will be going much later, after the kiddos are home, next time.
Great food and service. Scallops are amazing. Only thing is the Sangria has a very strong alcohol taste and not fruity enough.
I miss the Chestnut Hill cottage so was delighted with the opportunity to try the Wellesley site. I was delighted the eatery took us earlier than our reservation when I called as we'd finished our business in the area.
The ambiance was great but I was a bit disappointed in the food. The ambiance was outstanding with spaciousness, high ceilings and seasonal decorations. It took a while for waiter to get to us and while he was very pleasant it was slow. That seems to be the norm these days. Somebody else took our drink order and was knowledgeable enough to point out something suitable for my tastes. I enjoyed my Harvest Moon and my companion liked her seasonal sangria. She loved her garlic crusted chicken appetizer but thought the side mashed potatoes were boxed. Her caesar salad was excellent. My fish was not sufficiently cooked-my fault for not stipulating well done. I liked the accompanying mashed potatoes and tomato melange.
I would return to to give it another chance since some aspects were good.
Great good and great service! We had a really nice dinner!
The service and atmosphere were great. Only glitch (which got taken care of quickly) was that there was a live moving moth in my friends salad. We told the waitress and she took care of it and brought out a new salad that we were comped for. Will definitely be back. A silly moth can’t keep me away from the cottage nachos.
Great service and the management was extremely helpful in arranging a large party reservation! Great food and cocktails!
It was our first time here. Beautiful place. Food was delicious, we had the Cottage Benedict. and an goat cheese. and sausage omelete,
The healthy drinks are great. We had the watermelon one and a carrot juice/ ginger.
Our server Arthur was very attentive
Loved it first time there but it won’t be my last!!!
Our meal was delicious. Honored our reservation on a busy Saturday night. I would definitely recommend.
It was such a great experience. Food and service was excellent. Ordered our food and were served in less than 10 minutes
All was great. Service was fabulous!!!
But $7 for a latte is too much by any standard!
Nice table, good waitress and enjoyable food; we had a pleasant dinner.
Three diners - we ordered a cheeseburger, fish & chips, and a lobster salad sandwich. Sandwiches and fish & chips were prepared nicely and tasted good.
A quality casual food choice but with prices up a bit, expect to pay $30 - $40 per person with tip for dinner and coffee or a soda.
We had a lunch time reservation and were seated immediately. We waited a reasonable amount of time to get our food. Our waitress was attentive and our lunches were good. Two of us had the harvest salad, one had a delicious burger and fries and two had fish tacos. There were three choices for dessert. I wished one of them was fruity. We wanted to share and could not agree on a dessert. Coffee was very good. We'd go there again.
