Very very loud. Food was delicious but way overpriced.
Everything we ate was incredible! We will definitely be returning!
We finished our cocktails before our appetizers arrived. Wanted a glass of wine with our food but the waitress was nowhere to be found. Appetizers arrived and we held off on eating hoping we could get a drink. After a while a diffeeent waitress came to take our drink order but the bartender was busy making cocktails so the wine didn’t arrive til well after we finished our apps. Deviled eggs were delicious. Spicy scallop nigiri was good but missing soy sauce. Bao buns were good but messy and we needed a side plate, but no one came to ask how apps were so no one noticed that we needed side plates. Sacchetti was just ok. It was kind of flat. I asked waitress if I pronounced it correctly (sack-etti) and she said no it’s sash-etti like a sachet. I took Italian and knew my pronunciation was correct. Like gnocchi, it’s a hard k sound. She should not correct her customers if she is going to be wrong! Ran out of wine again so stopped eating for a long long time so waitstaff would notice that we needed something but we had to aggressively call out to waitress as she headed to a different table to get her to come to our table. I had sent sacchetti back for more sauce and she claimed that she was so focused on getting me the sacchetti that she couldn’t come to table to get us wine. In reality sacchetti had been back on our table for a long time and she didn’t check back to see if it was better, so her defensive justification just didn’t make any sense. All in all food was pretty good but poor service literally ruined my night.
We really appreciated the glasses of champagne on our wedding anniversary. It was a really nice gesture. Thank you!
Amazing dinner from start to finish. Service was fabulous. Will definitely be back.
Impeccable food and service
A wonderful dining experience
Love it and come often for special occasions and excellent food!
Great, cozy spot, unfortunately for us, a very noisy table nearby. Made dining uncomfortable. All in, food very good but very small portions . There was barely any octopus, mostly potatoes, in my grilled octopus appetizer. Would expect better for the $19 charge. Service was excellent.
Consistently one of the best restaurants in Fairfield County. The food, ambiance and service are all fantastic. So amazing to have this gem right here in Westport.
Best restaurant in Westport for a special occasion. Always delicious food and impeccable service.
Outstanding food, presentation, service, ambiance. Keep it up. Hope to return many times.
We revisited The Cottage this week since August 2020 due to the Pandemic. We couldn't have been more pleased! A fresh, new menu reflecting Spring, each dish tastier than the next. The spicy scallop nigiri on crispy sushi rice was melt-in-your -mouth. I'm still craving those several days later! We had beet salad, crab toast, and their deviled farm eggs as well. All perfectly prepared and enjoyed. The king salmon in cedar paper was sublime and two of us raved about the maine halibut prepared with delicious crispy morels and the most luscious ramp butter. My husband had the saddle of lamb which he said was "melt in your mouth ". After all this, we had to try a few desserts and the standout was the vanilla pavlova!
We had a server, Roshi (sp?), who was excellent and anticipated our every need! The bartender also delivered terrific cocktails. It was so nice to go back to a place that was as good as we had remembered. That has not been the case at other top restaurants we have visited recently - poor service, lack lustre food, and unhappy staff (The Inn at Pound Ridge recently). Enjoy The Cottage!
Restaurant is priced as an occasion destination, but has zero polish, in both ambiance, and presentation, albeit, the food can be quite good.
Overpriced but interesting flavors
Excellent as always
Amazing food with flawless service. A great night every time!
The cottage is good. A bit overpriced as the portions are ridiculously small.
Wait staff push drinks and are very annoyed when you don’t order more.
The Cottage supplied its usual wonderful experience with outstanding food, comfortable services and pleasant seating outdoors under an open tent. And the weather cooperated.
The food and service was over the top outstanding !
Food disappointing. Used to be exciting and superior. 👎
Absolutely wonderful. Pricey though. $500 for 4 people.
food is outstanding, great customer service knew it was our anniversary just from our account on open table and greeted us with champagne,
Awesome dinner, great food and service
A perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Very special food. Wonderful service and ambiance. Not rushed. Really enjoyed it!
Had a reservation but we were placed at a small table in the bar. The atmosphere was terrible. ordered the bau bun which was bad-bad flavor-Even the hoise and soace did not have any flavor like regular hoisin sauce in the spice email just tasted like yellow paste. Spicy squid was also not good. I would say that the burger was good. The halibut was average.
We sat outside and the dinner was terrific! We just ate a bunch of appetizers and they were all delicious and the food was so fresh! What an electric menu but everything we love. Thanks for making our anniversary so special
The foie gras, the hamachi and the salmon were perfectly prepared. The hamburger was overcooked because it sat on the counter for a long time waiting for my wife's entree to be ready. The place was packed, and service was slow. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was great to see people going out to eat again, so we did not mind the wait. It was our first dining out experience in 14 months.
Always a dining experience. Excellent and informative service, delicious selections, and safe during covid. Can’t wait for the corn tortelloni to return!
Special birthday dinner celebration with friends and the staff went out of their way to assist me in making it a surprise for my husband. Food was excellent. Service was very attentive. We look forward to going back. Definitely recommend as there aren’t many places we’ve been where appetizers and entrees and service all excel - usually we find something lacking at one level but The Cottage delivered on all counts!
The Halibut dish was excellent, the lamb mediocre and the lobster pasta below average.
The desserts were good.
The noise level was annoying and the piped in music, loud and totally unnecessary.
We had an enjoyable evening at The Cottage. We were four people and everyone
was pleased with their meal. The service was friendly and the food was excellent.
I highly recommend it.
Flawlessly delicious dinner with perfect service. The menu is creative and mouth watering. Thank you for a fantastic meal!
Always amazing, never disappoints!
The food was good, the truffle croissant is great. The halibut was ok. The chocolate mousse was good, but the pavlova was so so. If you want an amazing pavlova try Hen and Heifer in Guilford. Pleasant place, nice staff. Quite expensive.
Outstanding service and food. Totally indulged from appetizers through desserts.
We ate outside and felt totally safe. The wait staff was all masked.
Great food, great ambiance. Music in a small restaurant was too loud but upon request, it was moderated.
Slow service and place was not crowded
Food and wine list were both very good
Ate outside which is very nice for parking lot dining. Prefer inside when we are able
Awesome as always!
Food was amazing. MUST TRY THE SCALLOP KRISPIES!
