I so wanted to like this place. My husband ordered the burger. The bun was hard and the burger and bacon were burnt. His fries were lukewarm. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict, was delivered crab eggs Benedict. After a wait the right order came out and the potatoes were not warm and the eggs were overcooked and the plating very sloppy. For the location this place should be rockin. Prices are very high here. We will not return.
I was most disappointed in the food itself I love the ambiance It feels very old San Francisco and I like that. But I had the French dip with Caesar salad side. The salad could have been from a bag at Safeway, the Dip was tasteless and the beef Tough and Tasteless.Even my martini was tasteless.I am so sorry because I really wanted to have a place to come for a fancy lunch.
Great service friendly staff
Late lunch with a friend. Everyone very pleasant and accommodating.
Lovely atmosphere for a very nice dinner amidst friends and coworkers.
Some of the flank steak on the steak salad was too tough to eat. Our water and iced tea were never refilled. They gave us a dessert cuz it was a birthday lunch but it was not very good...we would rather have ordered off the dessert menu. We sat outside which was lovely and our server was very nice. I'd go back but definitely order something else.
Food was mediocre, loud atmosphere wont go back! Poor place to spend quality time with your spouse. food is overpriced. Prime Rib was dominated by smoke flavor which was not mentioned on the menu!
I had the double pork chop which was served with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts and green beans. It was AMAAAAAZING! Not cheap but it was so great. I took about half home with me for later. My companion had the french dip and was very happy with that. The only down side is the iced tea was fairly weak.
Food looked nice but across the board ( 4 meals) tasteless. We called after we left the restaurant to tell the manager our experience and he took our telephone number but no one calls us bank. VERY DISAPPOINTING and we won’t go back .
PS did I say it is was expensive, which we normally don’t mind but the Cooperage was overpriced and awful and not worth it at all!
Love the atmosphere here! Parking can be hard but it’s one of my favorite date place!
Was expecting food to be really good but it was just so-so. Had high expectations and was disappointed. Will not be returning.
The staff was very accommodating to our special requests, and the food was delicious!
Consistently good food and service.
Chef Rick Deleme has transformed the Cooperage into an award winning restaurant. As our waiter said, “it took chef Rick close to a year to steer the ship” and after eating there last night for my mom’s 90th birthday, chef has a true north when it comes to excellence. Looking forward to my next dinner at the Cooperage.
I love the food here - but the service needs improvement. Everyone is nice and helpful when you arrive, but you never see them again to order another cocktail or request another dish. They seem to only stop by when you sit down, and when they are delivering the check. I have tried in vain to flag down one of the waitstaff when my glass was empty or I needed to ask for anything (hot sauce, an extra napkin....)
The last two visits the food was lukewarm when it got to us. I won't go again until service improves.
Good food and our server was great. It is definitely overpriced but in total I would return.
There are new owners and the change isn’t for the better. Seems they’ve taken over with the aim to improve profitability. Nothing wrong with that but they’ve taken aim squarely at the menu and now offer lower quality food from stem to stern. Many of our favorites from the brick chicken to the s’mores dessert are gone. We won’t be back.
We had a pleasant brunch on a Saturday afternoon at on outside table. The omelettes we had were unremarkable but the ambiance was great.
Had a delicious meal and great service on Valentine’s Day.
They gave us the worst table with the worst waiter on Valentine's Day! Table was at the back of the restaurant, next to an old and dusty china cabinet and behind a curtain (?!). Our waiter had the worst attitude, never smiled and won't check on us for long periods of time. Food was okay. We left without eating dessert ... on Valentine's Day!! We are never coming back.
The food was outstanding. Shaved Brussels Sprouts were the best I ever ate.
Normally love this place but on this occasion we were disappointed. With a reservation we got seated in the back bar area where the server is also the bartender. It took 25 minutes before we were able to place our food order. With a reservation we should get a normal dining room table, not a bar table.
Excellent food, service and ambience. Great for families too.
I didn’t like what I ordered. The brunch avocado toast was more like bruschetta
Perfect. Service was perfect timing, food was excellent and table was ready. Everything was clean and everyone was kind!
Very delicious and nice staff!
Perfect birthday brunch! Our waitress was lovely.
The new ownership has redeemed this place from both a food and service perspective. We throughly enjoyed our dinner but wish they could do something about the noise level. The Cooperage is back on our dinner list!
Our server was excellent! And we had our special seating requests accommodated. Food was amazing as always.
Terrible restaurant. The waiter was very rude and didn't even smile. The coffee was cold, we had to ask for bread, although we ordered 5 salads. The prices are too high for what you are getting. The hostess or manager was very nice; that was the best thing about this place.
I really like this place and brought a few friends along on this visit for Sunday brunch. Though there were some creative choices, and the food was as tasty as always, everything was kind of lukewarm (even the fries - disaster!). This was puzzling because the restaurant was nowhere near full. It seems as though the plates might have sat somewhere before they came to us. Also, of all the main dishes and desserts we tried, I was not impressed with the bakery options. One of my dining companions wanted a pastry to start, and we ordered the scone and muffin plate. Very disappointing - like supermarket bakery items - overly sweet with absolutely nothing to recommend them. I hope this was a one-off; I find the menu selections at the Cooperage to be fun and a perfect amount of food. I will give them another shot.
One of my favorite restaurants in town! Always a relaxing atmosphere accompanied by good food/drinks.
Very loud. French onion soup was blah. Fish tacos with mango salsa were very good. Chef honored my request for steamed veggies instead of cooking in oil or butter (big thank you). Seated near the front door and it was constantly left open and it was very cold. Nowhere near worth the money we paid ($140 with tip for four of us).
Just ok... was hoping for better.
This was my first try since the new chef. The menu was interesting. I had a burger which was served on a plank that made for messy eating. The waiter was pleasant; however, he plunked our bill down without bothering to ask if we wished dessert. The manager was more attentive.
Service was subpar. Took a long time to order, no attention to coffee refills, no checkin to see how things tasted, asked for muffins and scones to be warmed, sent back and came back same temperature. Then asked for them to be removed from bill. Were not removed from bill. Turkey BLT not warm. Very disappointing.
Great brunch at 10am
