About The Chase
The Chase is our passion for Casual Elegance. Our rooftop restaurant highlights what we love most about upscale dining, and presents it in a modest, welcoming and thoughtful way. Our ongoing chase for the finest ingredients from around the world coupled with simple and uncomplicated flavors is the foundation for our culinary philosophy. Using refined techniques from Italian and French cuisines we formed a menu that can be best described as Contemporary North American. It celebrates the beauty of simplicity and keep you craving more. The service is detailed and technical, but as comfortable as being at home. The room is sophisticated, but refreshingly approachable and unpretentious.

The Chase Ratings and Reviews
My boss went to the restaurant and they told him, they didn’t see his reservation after I call to confirm and it was in the notes.
Reservation for Rohit Mehta booked under Julie Stewart.
It was very unprofessional like I looked to his guest.
I honestly , don’t want to get anyone in trouble but it might not seem a big deal but to me it is. It’s my job , it’s very easy. What is the point of the notes when it’s not being read by the restaurant.
This is not the first restaurant to do this . What if I said he’s allergic to peanuts and you served him peanuts. If it’s not being read. Get rid of it. So people are not getting a false sense of security that everything will go ok without me have to check in with the restaurant.
Lovely restaurant, but unfortunately terrible, terrible service - The waiter was nowhere to be found most of the time. We had to beg for water. Our drinks and food were being taken away before we could finish and without being asked if we were finished. It took 45 minutes to get our entrees, which all came either cold or lukewarm. During this time, the waiter must have been adult-napped because he just vanished into thin air. When the entrees finally came there was no explanation or apology for the delay. We were brought our bill before we even asked and before we finished dessert and coffee. As he put the bill down, he asked if he could get us anything else - really?? What bill will you be putting this on then? Lovely restaurant destroyed by poor service.
The menue can best be described as bizzar. With odd ingredients. Creative but not in a successful way.
The appetizers, intended to be shared, were too small. Maybe enough for 2.
The wine list is small but with some notable bottles.
But The Chase always reinvents itself. I look forward to its next iteration, with no regrets for the present one.
The past couple of times here I have been disappointed. First was with clients - we were kept waiting 45 minutes for table with reservation and this very martini-esque institution ran out of olives (what?). More recently went on a date (assumed last time was a one-off) and service was austere and felt rushed throughout. Waiter seemed to have a hard time responding to pace-related queues. Furthermore, floor manager appeared to go to every table to check how things were but ours - left an unsavory taste that offset what is admittedly the best cod I have ever tasted...
I have been to the chase several times and usually the food is really good but I have to say this time was a disappointment. All 3 of our meals were less than satisfactory but service was good. Everyone has an off night so hoping that’s all this was, just an off night .
Honestly this place was recommended by my boyfriend for a girls night out. He's a executive sous chef elsewhere and said he knew he could guarantee the food being good. But service was terible. My girlfriends arrived for a table on time. I understand I ran late but I was the only one driving and looking for parking. During the wait time for my arrival they did order drinks and apps. But once I got there our waiter was rude, absolutely impatient and commenting on my tardiness. I asked what was good on the menu and what he would recommend and got a simple reply that every thing was good just pick one. I to come from this industry and I believe that food knowledge is a must and that he could've directed me somewhere within the menu. Last but not least looking for our server for the bill was also a pain. Loved the food but would probably not take my VIPs here if I wanted to impress.
Service was terribly slow for a Wednesday night. A bit overpriced for the quality of food served. The squid was very good. The lobster cavatelli was just average. The seafood in the pan roast was also very average. The avocado was disappointing. The concord grape dessert was unedible and had definitely been sitting out for too long.
Very disappointing experience overall. The service was extremely slow and very disorganized for a restaurant of this caliber. It took about 20 minutes to get a drink order and the food was ok but not stellar by any means. Since this was a special occasion it was all the more disappointing. Atmosphere was pretty lackluster, nothing special.
Went to celebrate my new job during lunch.. had heard great reviews & so we were very excited. Very disappointing meal - we should have gone to Richmond Station or somewhere else nearby. Felt sore paying my bill.. I'm all for hefty dining bills when the experience matches, but The Chase was appallingly low-qual.
Tastefully decorated, though rather dimly lit spot. Great for seafood lovers, though the kitchen could do a better job scrubbing the oysters- they were all a bit too grainy.
The service is prompt and friendly. Would recommend for a romantic evening or dining with friends.
Our table ordered two salmon dinners tonight both of which were extremely dry and over cooked. When we mentioned to the waiter he asked why didn't you tell me earlier? He was extremely dismissive of our concern. Frankly when in a business meeting, it is not appropriate to send the meal back to be properly prepared. Looked like it sat under a warming light for an hour too long. Not fresh. Embarrassing for our client
The halibut was exceptional. The kitchen was very accommodating in preparing this dish for the table
The rice entre was very tasty, although a small portion
Menu has become mundane and limited for what once was a classy place to go for special occasions.
The wine list is overpriced for anyone except for FINE wine connoisseurs with discerning palettes and who have large expense accounts or unlimited budgets.
There are many great wines for the average person to choose from and that can sell at prices below $100.
It's so unfortunate that such a good restaurant has to have service staff so pretentious and up themselves they can't even offer a smile, except when the $1,500 bill is being passed to you. Smarten up, you're no better than the people eating at the restaurant. In saying that, the food is great, as is the accompanying wine list.
