Food was delicious, service was so so. They seemed more entertained by the surroundings then us.
Loved the live music and wine - great place to catch up with your friends!
Our food arrived 1 1/2 hrs after we sat down. It was barely luke warm. We had to ask the waitress to turn the music level down so the four of us could hear each other. The waitresses were friendly enough but the kitchen staff must be terribly over worked to perform so poorly.
Absolutely amazing food, their wine selection was great! The best part is you can take it with you if you don’t finish the bottle. And the live music made the dinner even better.
Service was a little slow but the food was amazing.
Great food and wine, nice atmosphere, very relaxing! Live music every weekend big plus! I love their signature plates, figs wrapped with bacon our favorite. Steak was prepared exactly like. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience! W've been once before and the experience was not that great. Our order was served wrong and we weren't looking forward to returning. We did return and had a great evening! The service was exceptional and so was the food and Wine!
Food was amazing. Great wait staff. Food came out promptly and as we ordered it. Would definitely recommend for a date night.
Delicious steaks and pork chops! Don't be fooled by its exterior, since it is in a strip mall. Very classy place on the inside.
We love going to Cellar Door for date night. There is great wine, great food and a great musician was there playing the saxophone. We didn't have cash to tip him so I would recommending bringing cash if you want to tip. The atmosphere is very romantic...dark with candles. Wait staff very friendly. Wine club is nice. Pay a monthly fee towards points then don't pay for wine when you go there...and/or take wine home... and possibly try new more expensive wines you wouldn't have before.
Went there for wife's birthday. First time there. Sizable wine list - with went with one of the house cabs - was good. Had flatbread to start, then lobster bisque and chicken. Dessert was chocolate cake. Flatbread was good - served warm. Soup was good - served hot. Chicken/carrot over rice was good. We were told the cake was homemade, which it make have been but it was a bit dry - maybe the made it earlier in the week. Our server was really good. In summary it was good, we will probably go back, and when considering cost (not cheap but not overly expensive) was good. We have a few favorite restaurants where we actually like the food better - but they are also more expensive.
This place is just amazing, great live music, great food an outstanding service!!
My girlfriends and I had a lovely time at Cellar Door:)! It’s a very pleasant place. Also, our waiter, Taylor, was great:)!! He was effortlessly making us laugh while trying to capture our photo :). Thank you Taylor and Cellar Door:)!!
Great food and wine in a cozy atmosphere M
Such a great place to go have a night out!!! We spent time inside and on the patio and loved it!
Always consistently fabulous service. You’ll be home pleasantly surprised when you walk in the door. Ambiance is welcoming and so is the team. More of an adult atmosphere.
Cena is by far the best host. place has a great atmosphere. I suggest you check this place out
went there for a date night with my husband. Live music, wine, food and service were excellent. Everything went above and beyond. We will be back.
first time to eat her. everything was lovely and even music towards the end of our dinner! fun fact is they offer wine they make themselves!
Everything was outstanding except my “medium well” steak was seriously undercooked.
We had a girls night out. The server Taylor was amazing and made the whole night better. The live music was good also.
Been going their for years! Their wine is superb quality! First time to dine there though. Ordered the Juliet Filet and it was delicious!
I like to support local so based on reviews, I chose to come here for a date night. Seated promptly, greeted promptly, drink order taken, appetizer ordered when drinks arrived, crab cakes. Awesome crab cajes but the red onions were a miss. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the Cheddar Bacon Cheeseburger. Both were perfect and I liked the chips better than my truffle fries, although they were tasty. I ordered the house wines, Seven Falls Chard and than the Reserve Zin and they were good, not epic, but good. Creme Brulee for dessert with a really good Cappuccino. Very nice meal, live music in the other room was not distracting and polished service!!
The wine sampler was a meal for 2! Filet and ahi tuna were cooked perfectly. Good wine selection. Great live music, acoustic Spanish gduitarist.
This was a great place to go on a date and the service was awesome. We will defiantly be going back.
All of what the Cellar Door has to offer makes for a very nice experience with your spouse or a cool hangout with a group. I know, have done both and both occasions were memorable!
Love this place!
The wine, food and live music is perfect for date night!
I love the location and ambience. They have live music which is great. It was my husband's birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. They did not do anything out of the way to make our customer experience special. I would not go there to celebrate anything special. Maybe just happy hour every now and then. They have a wine club and events based on the website and material on the dinner table, no one took time out to talk to us about them...
We were greeted and seated promptly upon arrival. Our server was confident and polite. We both ordered wine and appetizers. My husband had the crab cakes (which were delicious) and I had the pork belly. Mine was a tad bit over cooked and dry towards the last bites but it was large and filling portion. For our main course I ordered the same crab cakes my husband ordered for his appetizer only my sauce seemed to taste a little off from his serving. He ordered the pork chop (delicious) and the lobster bisque. The soup was heavy on the flour taste. It was such a shame because we both really wanted to like the bisque. Our server graciously offered us a complimentary dessert for our 16th anniversary. We chose the creme brulee which did not disappoint. They had a live band going and it added to the ambiance. All in all it was a great evening and our server was awesome!
Service was a little slow, because they were busy. Everyone was very welcoming!
This place is always great for a quick getaway without the kids. Fabulous food & wine.
A hidden gem! We will definitely be back!
Loved the wine choices, food and music!
I was told when reading the menu that this was a steak place and that’s what they’re known for so with that in mind, I ordered a rib eye medium rare. To my disappointment, the steak was over cooked, tough and tasteless. I was with my family and everyone else at the table seemed ok with their choices. Hubby got a filet mignon, one daughter ordered a burger with truffle fries and the other order fish and chips. The fish & chips looked wonderful and she really enjoyed them. I did have the lobster bisque to start and that was soooo tasty. It was so disappointing that the steak was not well prepared.
It took us 40 minutes to get our food (at 6pm). When it finally came, my wife's food was barely warm and my pan seared fish was way over cooked and hard to chew.
Nice atmosphere. Band playing. Good food but the service was slow and the food did not all come out together for the table. The food was not hot either, showing it sat a bit. Otherwise really great place.
The staff was phenomenal and made the anniversary experience great. Very attentive staff who took careful time to prepare custom request. Highly recommended as a premier spot in Katy. Great live music and atmosphere. 5 stars
This restaurant really caters to wine lovers, which I am not, so my review is solely based on the atmosphere, service, and food quality. As such, this was a very good, but not excellent, restaurant for couples and small groups to dine. We each had the "Chef's Special" three-course meal, each choosing lobster bisque, and 8oz Filet Mignon, and desert. The bisque was flavorful and creamy, but not quite as good as I've had at other high-end restaurants. The filets were tender and cooked correctly; however the reduced-wine glaze taste overpowered the beef flavor by a fair margin. The asparagus side had a good flavor but the lower half of the stalk was quite chewy. The two desserts available were chocolate mousse and Crème Brulee, both good but not spectacular.
The service and the general atmosphere were both excellent. Little things can sometimes stand out to me, and I did notice a few gnats/fruit flies and the air conditioning / comfort level could be improved.
Overally, I feel this is generally a very good choice for casual fine dining, with late-night music and wine service that stands out.
Outstanding service and overall experience. Food was very good. Very small crowd for a Saturday night which is odd, but would go again in the future.
Loved this place! The food and wine we delicious. The service was fabulous! Highly recommend for dinner, girls might put, or special occasions!!!!
