About
We went with a very large table on a Saturday night and had such a wonderful experience. The food is above and beyond, the drink menu is perfect, the service was wonderful, not overwhelming, but just attentive enough.
I can't wait to go back!
Long time friend was in town from Singapore, great food wine and service was exceptional, thanks Brandi ;).
Great brunch and super accommodating of dietary needs. Love the retro decor and atmosphere.
Server was abrupt and bordered on surly. We had to ask for her twice to take our food and drink orders. She disappeared for 15-20 minutes at a time. It was quite crowded right before the “Frozen” play but a smile would have gone a long way. Food was overcooked bland and cold.
The four of us shared the rainbow vegetable sampler platter plus one large size entree for each couple. This was the perfect amount of food for us. Everything was delicious and we got lots of variety. Great service too.
Great service, great food, only one missed dish and I blame it on my temperamental tastebuds.
Amazing!! The food, the service, the people were all so amazing. I felt like royalty! We had a reservation for our anniversary and we were going to the Paramount after dinner to see Frozen the Musical. When we arrived, our table wasn't ready yet, so they seated us in the bar area and gave us complimentary champagne! After they moved us to our table, the food started arriving, course after course of incredible offerings. I think we must have 6 or 7 things and they were all delicious. The best Jerusalem artichokes I've never had. We ordered so much food we didn't have time to eat it all before the snow, so they boxed up the leftovers and put them in the fridge for us so we didn't have to bring it in the theatre. After the show we came back and sat down for dessert and after show drinks. What a perfect evening. Every person we came into contact with wished us Happy Anniversary and made us feel so special. Thank you all for making our night unforgettable.
Great setting!
The service was great, Food was good but not great. Brisket (which I’d had before) was surprisingly tough.
We were delighted to get into the Carlile Room before Frozen at the Paramount. As expected, it was a lovely dinner, wonderful service, great fun!
Great service
Brunch was delicious! The avocado toast with beets and poached egg was amazing. We love the food and service at The Carlile Room, they never disappoint.
Thank you! We hope to see you soon!
I had the cheesy grits with crispy pork belly, it was delicious.
The hospitality, environment, food and drink are all excellent!
We are glad to hear it! Thank you for taking the time to give feedback!
Cheerful waiter, very efficient
Valentine/Show
Love this place. Great tradition for before or after a show. Coconut pie is worth all the guilty pleasures!
Wonderful place to eat before/after a play at The Paramount.
Delicious and inventive food. Great Service. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there1
I would have given them an overall 5 star but they have the mandatory 20% tip in the bill. I think the customer should choose based on performance. The food was great!
Always great food and service. My favorite preshow stop.
Just Amazing savory food! Definitely try the Rainbow appetizer ... has 5 of their appetizers. So Worth It!!
We had wanted to try The Carlile Room for several years and it didn't disappoint. Great place for my wife as she is a vegetarian and they had many options. I had the steak and it was excellent. Very hard to hear, so not a great place to socialize with friends.
Hi! Thanks for the feedback, we are glad you had a great time. I'm sorry about the noise level, next time you swing by, let us know if it is too loud or if you want a quieter spot. We are always happy to help. See you soon! -Mat
Variety of menu options for different dietary needs. Great service. Cocktails were not great. Good location for pre-show dinner.
This is our go-to place for dinner after the theater. Always love the food. The kale and cauliflower salad is a favorite, but I tried the chicory salad this time and it was yummy. My companion and I both had the cod and it was lovely. I really appreciate a place that knows fish should not be overcooked and needn't be fried! Service at the Carlile Room is always friendly and efficient. We will keep going back.
Dinner was good but menu is very limited. Very noisy and tables close together. Nice but wouldn’t return. Too many other great restaurants downtown!
The best thing about this restaurant is the location! When going to a show at the Paramount it is so very convenient that you can't resist! The food is always good, the service good and that is important. I find most dishes have at least one component that is over the top and just not something I like. This time I ordered beef brisket and grits and both were fantastic! However, it came with pickled mushrooms which were nothing great. I would have preferred more grits or a vegetable instead but, it was on the menu and I knew to expect it so no surprise. My daughter got a burger and fries. Again her meal was good. Not sure the small burger was worth the $20 but, it was exactly what she needed in terms of quality food that kept her happy.
Overall, we have been to the Carlisle a few times before or after shows. We expect to pay more for the food that any place else I would not return but the location is why we pay.
As for service- again, it is ok. Nothing special, nothing that makes me want to brag about it. Our drinks were not refilled until we asked, we had dirty plates pushed to end of table that sat for 5+ minutes. If that stuff is a deal breaker than choose someplace else. The server was friendly, polite, knowledgeable just maybe not as attentive as some would want.
Always a good meal here
Service was prompt and attentive. There were 5 of us for pre-theater cocktails and dinner. We all enjoyed the food (it is a Tom Douglas restaurant after all!). Rotisserie chicken, Alaskan Cod, pasta and steak were all delicious and well prepared. Appetizers: cheese plate, kale and cauliflower salad, side of fries with gravy (yum!) were all terrific!
Service was terrific!
Awesome! Loved this place and will be back soon! I recommend to all people I love
We were there before the theater for brunch. Excellent- I am dreaming of my avocado toast! Great menu!!
The service and food was very good.
I did not like the loud music. Why does the music have to be so loud?
When dining it is much more pleasant not to have music blaring. One does like to converse without shouting.
This is our favorite spot for date night when we see a show at the Paramount Theater.
Dinner was great, service is excellent. It’s a treat to enjoy the Carlile Room.
The wait staff and other folks working there were so welcoming. They always had a smile for each of us.
Best impossible burger!!! Will go back
Every course we had was delicious. The food and the cocktails were impressive. Love that the menu is seasonal and local and offers veggies you don’t normally see at other restaurants. Some tables were pretty dark to where it was hard to read the menu, but otherwise enjoyed the mid-century decor complete with old-school speakers and hits from the 60s played all night. Found myself singing out loud at times.
This is a fabulous restaurant. Very fun brunch menu with traditional and creative offerings. Been there multiple times, always terrific. Avocado toast entree was fabulous as was the traditional eggs, potatoes and bacon. Coffee about the best I've ever had. Prices very reasonable. Catty-corner from the Paramount Theater.
Food was delicious. Already making plans to go there again
Nice pre-theater spot. We shared everything. The starters and sea bass stood out. Good service. The manager got us in at the last minute and moved some things around to get a big group seated.
The music was starting to heat up-would be cool if a date night, a little loud to converse with a large group. All in all, good food and a nice place to eat and then walk across the street to go to The Paramount.
