    Steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. I can hardly believe I'm writing this, but the mashed potatoes, yah, potatoes, where absolutely amazing and I've never had tastier. When one can elevate the flavor of a potatote to a masterclass level, well, that's impressive! From the moment we walked in; to the closing of the door as we left, the staff were all genuinely attentive. Our waiter, Aaron, was unto himself a masterclass professional! Again, the food itself was a masterclass in culinary excellence as well as the service. Well done all, we can't wait to return for another outstanding dining experience!

    It seems that people were being seated based on their likeness. There were complaints made to the staff which prompted adjustments being made to seating arrangements, but the fact that this happened is a problem for me. Other than that was a decent place for a meal. Will I go back? Maybe.

    I have never dined at a Capitol Grill, so this was my first time. We arrived and were seated in a nice booth. My partner was celebrating a birthday, and they had made a card and had sprinkles on the table, which was a nice touch. Our waiter Conrad was outstanding and saved what was a culinary disaster at a steak house into a wonderful evening. We had their bacon appetiser and it was delicious. My partner had the Tomahawk veal chop and found it tough. I had ordered the Filet and lobster, asking for medium rare on the meat. It came out medium well. I ate the lobster, waiting for the replacement steak. When it came out, it was a true center-cut filet, where the first one was the last cut and not a center cut. After 30 years as an executive chef and owning five restaurants, I found Capitol Grill to be less than expected. They cook steaks day in and day out, and still couldn't send out a properly cooked steak. The second filet was blood red in the center, not medium rare. The bathrooms need updating as the sinks are all scratched up. This is not a fine dining restaurant but a chain restaurant. It shows. The management was very attentive and came by often. The staff is what saved the night, the kitchen let us down, and I doubt I will ever eat at a chain "fine dining" restaurant again. The bill for the two of us came to $295, including a $90.00 bottle of wine.

    As always, the food was perfectly prepared! Add the fact that our waiter, Tony, was spot on in his attentiveness; lead to a very enjoyable meal. I highly recommend this restaurant!

    The Capital Grille is a classic that keeps its standards high. Nice ambience, our server was very professional and attentive, she didn’t make us feel rushed. We were there for a birthday lunch. The table was decorated so cute with confetti and rose petals. My sister received gratis a delicious mousse and cheesecake as her birthday dessert. Scrumptious! We all had salads that were upscale. Seared salmon salad w/avocado, mango, tomato and champagne dressing - nice portion of salmon and very tasty. Maine Lobster salad w/citrus vinaigrette- perfect size with beautiful chunks of fresh lobster atop and the dressing was so fresh. Cobb salad w/ Sliced Tenderloin - beef cooked to perfection and a large portion, enough to share. All were delicious. The Capital Grille is consistently above par for quality food and service. It’s like visiting a friend in the neighborhood and always feeling welcome and at home.

    As a frequent diner at Morton's, it was a refreshing change of pace to dine at Capital Grill. Its not like I had never been there before, but I really appreciated the old school steakhouse decor, atmosphere and quality of the food. I will not wait as long the next time to go back.
