    First experience at Capital Grille in Indy and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious and top notch service all around. Highly recommend!

    The Best Filet Mignon ever tasted. Excellent service. The wine menu has multiple good choices. Good atmosphere.

    The food was absolutely outstanding. every morsel was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only struggle was our server We ordered a salad and three appetizers for a table of two. We mentioned we had plenty of time and did not want to rush. We asked him to decide the order the food should be served. Apparently, it was not clear that we wanted the food served in courses. The salads did come first, and they removed my fork, butter plate and knife before the appetizers came out. They brought both hot and cold appetizers at the same time, forcing us to rush through to enjoy them at the temperature they were meant to be served. They did not bring extra plates and I had to use a spoon for a knife as the waiter did not check back for over 10 minutes. When dessert came, again he did not bring an extra plate or silverware. I had to eat with the dirty spoon that was used as a knife with the appetizers. Cocktail glasses set empty on the table, and he never offered a second round or wine. I know this may sound entitled and petty, however, there is a level of service that one expects when dining at this restaurant. We were the only reservation in the dining room that evening. Our server did not have any other tables from our arrival at 6:15 until we departed at 7:45. We would've expected him to have the time to check back to provide us silverware, drinks, and plates. That certainly will not deter me from returning. Everything else was five star.

    Michael was our waiter and took excellent care of us. He described all of the specials available and was very professional. The food was excellent. Crisp crust on the steaks and cooked perfectly.

    What a disappointing experience. Not sure what was going on, but having been to this Capital Grille before and had excellent meals, I was quite surprised. Let's start with the hostess taking our group of four to a very large round table without even asking if such an oversized table would be okay. I then protested, only to be told that the hostess thought it was a good table. She then seated us appropriately. (Minutes later she put seven (!!!) people at the table she wanted to put us at. The waiter was great. But the food disappointing. Very slow to come out. Caesar that wouldn't even work at a convenience store, and $60 dollar scallops and risotto that was way over-salted. The waiter did comp the scallops, which was a nice gesture. I know that every restaurant can't fire on all cylinders all the time, but at these prices it needs to.

    We visited the Capital grill on June 26. We have dined here several times over multiple decades. Beautiful restaurant with a lot of history including paintings of historical indianapolis business leaders. I ordered the wedge salad, bone-in filet @$77.00 and my wife had the aged NY Strip and au-gratin potatoes . The texture and tenderness of the filet was good but a little on the dry and flavorless side. The wedge salad was outstanding with chunks of pork belly in place of the usual bacon. Wife reported that the aged NY strip was also on the dry and tasteless side. Don’t get me wrong the steaks were good but not memorable. I would try the ribeye next visit. Service as always was outstanding.
