   We were greeted promptly, received an appetizer and soup/salad, but that was it. Our waiter then forgot our drinks and apparently our meals, as we never received our meals. The manager did take care of our appetizers, but we would’ve rather paid and ate dinner! We will probably try Capital Grill again at some point, just not on this trip!

    Very disappointed in the food quality - especially considering the price. The salad was really good, but appetizer - grilled asparagus that was limp and soggy. The sea bass was overcooked and had to request a different sauce (fortunately had put on the side). They only had 3 seafood offerings on the menu. Ahi tuna was tough. The crème brûlée was only ok, but the flourless chocolate cake was good. To top off a poor experience, the coffee looked totally black, had no coffee smell and tasted burnt. We have eaten at this restaurant in the past and used to enjoy it. Our waitress was good, but the person who showed us to our table went racing through the restaurant and we lost him - twice. We won’t go back.

    This place is tired, sloppy and dishonest. The menu posted on their website for breakfast(and I have to assume other meals as well) is not what you will be offered. Why? Covid, still, according to the server. Management tried to show us where it said on the bottom of the website that menu items were “not offered at this location”. But he couldn’t when offered the chance. What is offered? Boring, stale, below average half-a-dozen items done better, for a much lower price, by virtually any random pick restaurant. Very sad. This place was once a must to plan for. Now it’s a must avoid. You’ve been warned.

    Our servers were outstanding, but the hosts were abysmal. They were dismissive, rude, and made us wait 40 minutes until past our reservation while seating many walk ins. When we asked, they said they wanted us to have an "optimal experience" and that's why they refused to seat us outside? We wanted to sit outside! To the management, at least find someone who won't ask "have you been helped," then pick up the phone and ignore you. I honestly wondered what the 2 younger men were on - we weren't the only couple left sitting 30+ minutes at the bar while walk ins, one couple that was 30 minutes late to their reservation, etc. were seated.

    We went for a relatively quick dinner before an event we had in downtown Indy. Servers were very accommodating as to time, even though it was a very busy night. Cocktails were excellent. Food was delicious and cooked to preferred temperatures. Tyler, our waiter, was very attentive and helpful. Will definitely return!

    The service was amazing. Unfortunately the food was not. To be fair, it was a packed house. Indianapolis was hosting two large events. I’m sure the cooks were overwhelmed. We ask the waitress to return one of our side dishes. She graciously removed the item from our bill.

    Second time at the Capital Grill. Amazing food, drinks and service. Walked in with an Open Table reservation on a Saturday night and was seated immediately. One of favorite restaurants.

    They were very busy. Staff was polite, prompt and friendly and checked on us frequently. Food was good with a nice variety but the kitchen couldn’t keep up. Waited a long time for the entree. Also it was very noisy with several loud patrons.

    Visiting Indy, first time at Capital Grille. Three of us got 10 oz. filet mignon. We all said it was one of the best steaks we have ever had. Mashed potatoes were fantastic. All staff was excellant. We were seated on time and not rushed.

    We went there for my birthday. We had crab and lobster cakes, which were great, and I had a filet (over cooked), and my husband had a tomahawk steak (over cooked). I sent mine back, but my husband didn’t because his was really tender already. The sides were good - mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. They took off the sides because my steak was over cooked. The dessert and champagne for my birthday was amazing, and definitely the best part of the meal. Service was okay.

    We were celebrating a mom and daughter birthday of number 82 and 54! The staff made us feel so good and made it very special! My mom and I were there for 3 1/2 hours! It was truly a lovely evening! The food was perfect and delicious!

    Celebrating just a nice family night out on our spring break. This place was really good. Food portions were large, and we loved the table sides options. My family likes to try a little of multiple things, so it worked well for us. Our teenagers really enjoyed the time spent out at a nice downtown restaurant. The food is expensive, especially for a family of 6, definitely not something we could do all the time, but for special occasions, it’s a great place with great food. Highly recommend.

    Always consider the starter specials as well as entrees. Flash fried lobster was insanely good. Porcini-rubbed bone in ribeye with balsamic was perfect for two of us, equitably split in the kitchen. Michael was on-point with his recommendations and service.
