Food was cold and for the price was very disappointed in quality.
The food was a bit overpriced for an okay meal. But the location and the atmosphere is wonderful.
I haven’t been to The Cannery in a few years, but I remember much more selection on previous occasions. I’m not sure if their menu is limited due to COVID, but they only have six mains to choose from. My husband and I were very disappointed.
Overall very disappointing experience. We had assumed outside seating Butera seated inside with limited view. Menu is very limited so not great options on the whole. The food was goo but not great. Service was OK but very rushed. We were seated for less than an hour, closer to 50 minutes. As a result really not good value, we will not return.
Had an early 4pm dinner reservation with my family. It was great that we were seated quickly. The waiter was nice but his appearance was a little bit unexpected, his white shirt looked somewhat dirty. I noticed stains on his shirt right away. The place was also nice too but very disappointed that the ladies bathroom was messy, low & no toilet papers on almost all the stalls. Rating on food: overall the food was pretty good. However, on an early Sunday they had no oysters even though it’s on the basic menu. Not sure about coming back again, if so it’s for the outside water view.
Service was so so. She was nice but not very attentive. Maybe they have a reduced staff. Not sure
i can say i’m a little bias when it comes to rating the cannery because i have a summer job there and worked there for 3 years in highschool but i haven’t worked there for 6 months since i am i’m college now but whenever i come home and eat there it is nothing but great service and amazing food. I go there for the service and food, it’s amazing to say the least.
Excellent service always. Love the outside patio area as well.
Our server was the best!
Linda was utterly amazing so impressed with her
Got there restaurant had valet, went in the restaurant got welcome. We were in waiting room per Our request we were waiting for 2 family members then decided to go in they wouldnt arrive we got a table for 6. I had requested a table near the side of the boasts to see. Wasnt seated there. The food menu was very limited on food wise worst experience. Had mostly all page of alcoholic drinks. Very high prices on food and wasnt that good. only nice thing at the end my birthday surprise dessert. The clam chowder soup good appetizzer. My kang pou food was very salty, and the octopus appetizer too.
Our waiter was very helpful and hospitable. It was just lovely sitting on the water with the warmth of the patio heaters. It was a cold evening outside but we were perfectly warm the entire time.
This local favorite is a good place for small parties. Our group of six had a great time there. The service was good, food was good and Covid ambiance was very good.
Had just opened 2 days prior to lifting covid restrictions, so not much to select from on the menu. Staff A+ Friendly and service was great. Good times.
Honestly, the food wasn’t good at all for the price. I ordered the second most expensive dish. The sea bass to be exact. It was so fishy and cold. I think the only good thing was the drinks. I wouldn’t come here again. :(
NOT following Covid-19 distancing recommendations on patio, which is also essentially an enclosed tent. Unless you want appetizers and liquor, wait until it fully reopens as there was only 5 entrees (overpriced) on the menu when we went (bass in a miso broth, kung pao chicken, lobster in a pasta, frozen fish and chips and a salmon dish). Forgetful service person...didn't get soup until after entree was half-eaten. Very disappointing.
Too expensive for the type of food and restaurant 😐
Valet was quick. Not too long of a wait for reservation table. Friendly service. Food was excellent. Great time spent with friends. Dinner celebration for my boyfriend. Enjoyed the Telegraphe White Ale & Filet Mignon dinner. The crab cakes were a delicious appetizer.
Favorite date night spot. Great food and service!
Cory our waiter was great and tell him so. Problem was getting my car from valet I had $5 and a couple of $100 bills. They wouldn't take the $5 and promise to more than make it up next time. Instead I had to wait for someone to come by and break my $100 so I could pay the $6. Since I usually would give $10, that was annoying and left a bad taste with me and my friend. Will avoid the place for awhile.
The Cannery is my fav restaurant!
Service was great. Highly recommend the berry seltzer!
We had such a great celebrating my birthday at brunch! Cole was a stupendous server and really made the experience that much more special! Can’t wait to go back, would highly recommend the chicken and biscuits for brunch!
Food was cold. Service slow.
They accommodated a last minute addition, which was very helpful.
This place was amazing. Great service, great wine, and amazing food!
Amazing service, and I felt safe being in public!!
My friend’s and I have been coming to the Cannery religiously for the past five years. We’ve particularly been patrons of the upstairs bar and have come to absolutely love and especially rave about your garlic fries to the masses - bringing all friends and family there to experience. We’ve continued to support the restaurant throughout the pandemic as well. You can imagine then, our devastation, when we learned that the garlic fries were no longer on the menu. We kindly ask you to please reconsider reinstating the garlic fries to your menu. We certainly can’t be the only ones missing them - and a night at The Cannery is simply not the same without them! Thank you so much for your consideration! N.B. Cole is a wonderful server!
Always a great evening at the Cannery! Excellent food, service and ambiance. Need I say more?!
I loved it! Right from the get go and walking in and seeing the beautiful jellyfish and all the decorations OMG I wanted to take a tour of it! I could just look at the ceiling all day. My girlfriend and I could not get over how beautiful the restaurant was but then when the food came out it made it even Better! Ugh I cannot WAIT to go back. Amazing experience all around! Great service, beautiful restaurant,, beautiful view, and great food.
Please tell me they do tours of it because that it something I would love to do.
The Cannery has a wonderful location on the channel. The service is always great. The food is always great. We would like a glutton free option.
The Cannery is one of my family's favorite restaurants. The Cannery never disappoints. The ambience is comfortable friendly elegance. Service is top notch. Most importantly, the food is absolutely delicious! Leave room for dessert and coffee, the perfect end to a wonderful meal.
Our Thanksgiving dinner at The Cannery was lovely on the patio!
Went for Thanksgiving. We love this restaurant. By accident we were served the kiddie plates. Noticed our meal was small. The waiter surprised us by bringing us two adult meals to bring home, totally redeemed himself and it was great having leftovers for Thanksgiving. It’s never the mistake, tithe recovery!
We waited a long time between courses. Food was almost cold upon serving! No ambiance ! Sat in the tent....
Last year the Dinner was Amazing! We were seated on the patio... great ambiance and a GREAT Buffet !
The reason we came back this year was our great experience we had last year,
Definitely will not be back next year for thanksgiving!
Always enjoy The Cannery. Highly recommended. Patio is perfect for those cold evenings. Can’t wait fir Jelly Fish Lounge (upstairs) to open and we can’t go back to what we have to be “normal”.
Tuesday nights have become "HAPPY HOUR TUESDAYS" w/ a light menu of sushi, appetizers and discounts on beer and wine. Food was excellent, Hot Edamame, Shishito Peppers, Rolls and Chicken Skewers, good selection of beer on tap.
With all things considered Civid, had a great experience, nice views of the bay and heated well enough on a cold night.
The tables are not 6 feet apart as required for coronavirus safety. The diners at the table next to ours were about 2 feet away, which was concerning to us, especially since they were from three different households.
One of us has a gluten and dairy allergy, which was not handled well. We asked questions about the appetizers and were told that the server would check with the kitchen. Without checking back with us, she brought the shrimp cocktail, dropped it on the table and said "both sauces are unsafe for you, so don't eat them." Obviously, if we had known that in advance, we would not have ordered the dish at all and would have chosen something else.
Plus: convenient valet parking and good wine list. Minus: outdoor heating system was erratic, resulting in overheating and then being cold as adjustments were made.
Excellent and had our favorite server Brittani.
Birthday! Great food fantastic people!
