Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate your birthday, to have an elegant lunch, or romantic dinner our beautifully decorated cake shop is the perfect place. Please note, for Afternoon Tea reservations, please contact our Events team directly.

Delicious three-layer cakes, as well as cheesecakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts fill our elegantly designed display case and are served daily. For the savory side, we offer an expanded lunch and dinner menu featuring some traditional dishes as well as our signature quiche and chicken salad. Our menu changes seasonally, to ensure every experience is a new one. Everything on our menu is house made from scratch daily with our commitment to the highest quality and ingredients. Gwendolyn's Cake Bake Shop has become the destination of Indianapolis for celebrating birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and all life's special occasions.

    I have to say I was very disappointed with our experience last evening. Compared to the Carmel location, this version just doesn’t measure up. My daughter and I loved the burger and truffle fries at the Carmel location and were looking forward to enjoying them again in Broad Ripple. Sadly, they were not on the menu. I get that menus change, but the offerings at Broad Ripple seem significantly lesser. Additionally I was looking forward to a cocktail with a spirit in it only to find Broad Ripple only offers beer, wine, and champagne, and champagne cocktails. We experienced long gaps in service and my “you pick two” sandwich half sandwich and salad was cold and Panera-like. Super dissatisfying. The cake was good as usual.

    We absolutely loved every moment of our experience. Our 9 year old daughter felt like an absolute princess for her birthday! Everything was DELICIOUS!

    The experience was nice for my daughters birthday party. I did feel for the low number of people there at the time and placing our order, the wait for what we ordered was extremely long (30 minutes). Our server was great and did an amazing job and was great with the girls!

    Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. However, the prices were astronomical!!! $17 for a piece of pie! And the apple pie had little sugar and touch lemon - tasted chemically.

    The decor of the whimsical fairy was cute. There was glitter on all the food and the experience you get for celebrating a birthday was made special. You are paying for the experience. Everything is about indulgence and over the top grand desserts. The seating is very tight next to other tables and the parking is extremely limited. The service is excellent and it is someplace where you take your time to enjoy the full experience.

    I took my daughter to Broad Ripple location for her 18th birthday. It such a fun experience. Everything was decorated so pretty and all of the food was elegant. Our waitress, Brooke, was very helpful and kind. We can not wait to come back.

    I took my nieces here to celebrate her college graduation in June. The college grad loves the experience and she thought this is better than giving her money! We ordered three difference cakes and some coffee and a pot of tea. In august, i was back with 5 other girls from work to celebrate the brides to be. Two of them are getting married in a month. Cake Bake let us used the special party room. We ordered cakes and a bottle of champagne to share! It was a great, unique experience and just perfect for the small celebration among the coworkers! The manager and waitress kept checking on us. In April, i took two out of town buddies (guys) here. We sat at the bar, ate cakes and shared a pot of tea! It was the best afternoon treat over a long conversation! My buddies, both guys, are impressed with the high quality of cakes (specifically the chocolate cake!). The bar seating was perfect for us! The service is always top notch here. The cakes are so impressively delicious, esply the chocolate cake (any chocolate cake). I will take my mother in laws and my sons here next.
