Found it online and was attracted by the water front location and wonderful looking seafood dishes. Very easily got a dinner reservation on the day but was a bit upset a few hours later by a phone message from the restaurant requesting another confirmation. Called back to confirm but hotel front desk informed they couldn't confirm the reservation as the restaurant was closed in the afternoon. The guy offered to cancel my reservation which did not help obviously - I wanted the reservation! Finally talked with a supervisor and she's very nice, promised to let the restaurant know that I have confirmed my reservation. Dinner went well, food looked amazing, taste very good, except I found my favorite mushrooms in my fish entrée weren't processed enough and it had too much sand in a couple of them. I didn't complain to the restaurant but fighting off the sand on my own, and we finished the dinner with no fuss. But my companion did mention the problem to our waiter before we left. We had high hope for our dinner but were a little disappointed. We would still recommend it and wish other people better luck than us.
Celebrating 31 year wedding anniversary. Waiter very attentive. Nice view.
Everything was great until a received my Amex Statement, that indicated the I was billed twice. I called the C Restaurant to get an explanation and was told the manager would return my call before 12noon. I never received a call from the Manager and still haven’t been contacted. If you can contact the Restraunt on my behalf, I would appreciate it.
I’ve called Amex and flagged the charge about the issue.

Everything was great exept the experience with hostess was only minus. Our seat assignment wasn’t satisfactory despite booking several days ahead, but her explanation to this was not reasonable.
Had dinner here 1 adult, I child. Lovely service, delicious food, and a beautiful view. Pricey? Yes. But similar to price of other restaurants in the area but better quality than many.
Great location with a terrific view. Service was perfect. Our drinks (manhattans), clam chowder, prawn cocktail and Arctic char were all excellent.
The Bar area is lacking any vibe, and esthetically is a bit cold including the ambient temperature while we were there.
The Restaurant should have a Host/Hostess area to great guests. My dinner companion and I looked and waited for someone to greet us, a couple of the staff walked by and finally were seated. The process from there was a bit dis-jointed and confusing.
The menu is very limited and quite pricey.
Though our wait person was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was decent. I am a local and will probably not return until I hear things have changed.
Well executed dinner. Very tasty.
It was a rainy day, however our group of 6 still had a nice view from our table. We were celebrating with a birthday lunch and everyone from the valets to the bussers were friendly and accommodating. There wasn’t a rush to order or to get us out. The acoustic guitar performer provided wonderful background music that was relaxing to hear. The menu provides something for everyone and the prices are typical for a tourist area. If you’re looking for a nice spot away from the fast food or tourist place, the C restaurant is the one. We’re looking forward to returning here to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view!
C is trying to be a high end restaurant and comes up short. Service was spotty. Knowledge of the wine list was poor. When we asked the chardonnay to be chilled, the waiter put the pinot noir in the ice bucket.
Food was average and dissapointing. Great location and views make up for it though.
Great for and service. Right on the water but we were there for dinner and was already dark. The sea bass was so buttery and flavorful.
We had a very nice birthday dinner for my daughter at C on 2/23/19. Very nice table by the water. Dinner was excellent, the wine list was very good, the service was generally excellent (it slowed down a little when we got to dessert and the restaurant started to fill up, but otherwise outstanding). A lovely evening.
Great views, indoor or outdoor seating. Great customer service. Nice ambiance. Food was lacking a bit...fries tasted like fish.
The service was good and very friendly. The food was great, but the portions weren't very big. Our table had a great view of the ocean. Overall a good experience!
Probably has the best view of the Carmel Highlands and coast, and upon previous request, staff was kind enough to give us the corner table by the windows, which is absolutely stunning. The food was delicious and there isn't really anything bad to say about this place. Go visit!
The staff is welcoming and friendly and the food surpassed our expectations. We are always happy with the experience.
Fantastic food, service, and live guitarist.
We came here for a Valentine's dinner and I have to say the service the food was the best I've ever had. The view was amazing at night the great light show. It really set the mood. It was just perfect for Valentine's dinner.
We were lucky enough to have a window seat overlooking Monterey Bay on Valentines Day. Amazingly we were able to watch an otter from our table with the help of the gracious staff that provided binoculars. On top of that the filet mignon and Chilean sea bass were great. Would definitely go again. Thank you!!
Food was wonderful. The bread for the table was warm and had wonderful flavor. My fish was prepared perfectly. Service was great. Sat at the windows a little chilly, but watching the storm outside was fun.
Great atmosphere with solo acoustic guitar in the background. Food is amazing. Get the ceviche, oysters, ravioli...all of it.
The polenta with duck confit is still one of the best dishes in the area. Service was perfect.
Hands down one of the best places to eat in Monterey.
Thomas Holt and the staff were exceptional! Thank You! :)
The service was extraordinary. Beautiful room with a guitar playing not too loud. The food was excellent. Only disappointment was no chocolate desserts. Very lovely evening. Highly recommend.
Just an outstanding dinner, filet was superb - veggies/ bread terrific - waiter? Could be one of the best
we have ever had - personable, alert - he was just perfect! (Wed evening/01-13-19)
Awesome restaurant, awesome hotel, awesome views, excellent staff, delicious food!
I can't stress how happy I am with their service. I noted it was my better half's birthday and they treated us as if we were regulars. The service was great and friendly, fast and delicious. Absolutely reccomend.
This restaurant has a great view and wonderful service. The bar offers a great happy hour option, with some nice bar bites in addition to cocktails. There is an outdoor patio and music several afternoons during the week. When the weather is good it's a fun place to hang out. We finally tried the restaurant side for dinner. My husband enjoyed his filet mignon and I had diver scallops, which were cooked perfectly. The food was good, but really pricey. I suppose that is to be expected in a tourist location with a great water view, but there are plenty of other places with a great view that have a friendlier price point. I think we will stick to the bar in the future.
Great service, they really went above and beyond for us. We also really enjoyed the water views - we enjoyed seeing a whale, sea otters, sea lions, a variety of birds, etc.
The food was wonderful, service was perfect too! The desserts were to DIE for! We had to go back and have desserts again the next night! They were different, interesting, and fun - oh and did I mention that they were delicious?! Exceptional desserts, and a very good meal that will keep me coming back every time I'm in Monterey!
It was excellent with food and service. White wine from barrel was excellent and great pricing.
Will be back.
Have been here for both a date and family dining with young child. Both experiences have been stellar don’t let the fact that it’s located in a hotel deter you. This place is a gem! Delicious food!
First of all, I'm a very reasonable person, but this evening pushed me to my limits.
I made a reservation for New Year's Eve a few nights prior. The night of we get to the restaurant, get seated, and get handed a menu to find that there is a prefixed menu that I was never informed about. In addition we would also be charged a 20% gratuity fee that I was never informed about.
If there's going to be limitations to the menu and extra charges, the patron should be informed while making the reservation.
The pork comes to the table and the skin instead of being crispy has an almost jerky consistency like it was sitting under a heat lamp all night.
The steak then arrives and it's raw to the point of translucent. I tell the server and given a half hearted apology and served the same refired steak. No acknowledgement from any type of manager.
Worst dining experience I've had in a very long time.
My wife and I had the New Year's Eve menu. We spent $400.00 dollars for a very sub-par meal. It was a 3 course meal for $125 each. They really tried to work on the presentation for each course, but the food was really bad. The lobster actually needed a steak knife to cut through some parts. The fish dishes were extremely small and bland, where other dishes were overpowering with a particular spice. I had two glasses of wine that was ok, but really not even close to a $20.00 per glass price tag. We don't mind splurging for a great dinner, we still rave about our Gary Danko experience in San Francisco, but Gary Danko is a Michelin starred restaurant. At any price we would not have been pleased with our New Year's experience at The C restaurant.
Love the place. It is right on the first floor of the hotel. The staffs are great and so is the food. Everyone is very professional.
Nice menu options. We split a salad and it was still good sized. Scallops were superb, and everyone enjoyed the swordfish very much. Very good service and well prepared food beautifully presented. We enjoyed our meal very much and wished we had room for dessert. Great water views too. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Nice place- a little pricey but was a lovely evening
traffic and parking are impossible in the area. Unfortunately that makes it not worth the trip.
Not my original choice for Xmas dinner but luckily they were open. Thank you.
