The Brentwood Restaurant and Lounge
black booths line the walls of the candle-lit room giving off an inviting, comfortable feeling.
Tuesday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 12:00am; Friday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 2:00am
Good crowd, good bar scene - food and service were terrific
Not happy they served the appetizers with our
Main meal. We never had that happen at any restaurant
One of the best burgers in town:9 oz 50/50 filet/short rib. Great grilled caesar salad. Friendly, informative wait staff. Wide menu selection. Nice ambience with a changing display of interesting art. Can get noisy when the restaurant fills up. Careful of the booths on the north wall-heavy on the air conditioning.
As usual, we had a wonderful time at The Brentwood. We were well taken care of by the maître d and, the waitperson, Sarah. The food was delicious. And we love how cozy it is.
Dark and romantic. Great vibe. Great service from the front of house all the way back.
Birthday! Fabulous service ambience food wine and soft New York style music. 5 Stars!!!
Finding a restaurant these that is kind of old school, quiet, intimate dining, where the tables on not on top of each other, where the noise level allows for conversation without strain (even for someone who wears hearing aids), is difficult. Add to that, my wife and I are vegans - vegetable sides or vegetable platters are terrific. The BR&L is perfect on all counts. PLUS they make great martinis!
Bruce Marder is really hitting the cover off the ball here. I had the lamb rib special with roasted potatoes and my wife had the cioppino special. We ordered a glass of Chianti to go with it, except the host visited our table to suggest that we opt for a cheaper Cotes du Rhône that he was excited about and suggesting to everyone that evening. He was right. The wine was exceptional. Our meals were extraordinary. On top of it all, our waiter was dissatisfied with our wait on the enteees and compted the dessert. Wow! Great meal in every sense.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant since the 70’s. I will give it another shot, but Friday night we had perhaps the worst waiter we’ve ever had. The food and overall experience suffered because of it!
The service was terrible. The food was good but took so long to come that the meal was less satisfying. It was very large portions however. The noise level was very high, and it was very dark. I recommend this for expense accounts and in the winter.
One of my favorites.
Always a favorite for our Brentwood friends!
A little noisy, didn’t have our wine selection and service was a little slow. Food was good.
Love the atmosphere. I ordered one of their specials (fish stew) that was tasty but minuscule. I wish I stuck with the classics there
the Brentwood was good as it always is. Try the chocolate cookies!!
I had a hamburger which was a bit over grilled. Friend had a chopped salad that she did not like. It was sent back ( not charge for same). Nice. She ordered something else, which at this point, she decided to take home. The waiter needs more training. He reached over me to remove finished dinner plates. He them was going to use another friend's same wine glass for another order of wine. I stopped that! Very bad to use the same glass.
Service was pretty pathetic for the prices-brought our check and forgot I had ordered desserts.
Steak was not memorable- doubtful it’s really prime meat.
At least the music was good.
The Brentwood is a comfortable and pleasant place to enjoy really flavorful cuisine. The wait staff is very attentive. Any and everyone there will reach out to make sure your experience is enjoyable.
Excellent food and exceptional service. We had a lovely experience!
I have been a few times over the last 12 years. I got engaged there so it has a special place in my heart. It has always been lovely until this last time. Nothing was horrible, but it was not really worth the almost $200 we spent. It was our anniversary, they knew that. We have gone other times on our anniversary and it was always acknowledged and lovely, etc. This time the server could not be bothered with us, always in a rush to leave and I had to ask about the specials. We sat really close to another couple, the food was bland (except for the dessert) and the music was an odd choice for the ambiance (Mellencamp, Pearl Jam, etc, whom I LOVE, but not in that atmosphere). My husband and I had a great time with each other, but we wanted to leave right after the check instead of staying and having another drink and being cozy and relaxing. The vibe has changed in there. It has seemed to have lost some of it's character or elegance.
It's very cozy but the food was excellent and the service great.
Food and service are great.
We had My moms birthday here so we could enjoy nice food and quiet chill ambiance... it was a wonderful time as always.!! My husband and I come here often and just love the staff too!
We love going there with our family when we come for visit . We missed Jeffrey though. He not there anymore he moved. The manager is wonderful unfortunately I forgot his name
Try the pepper pasta we asked easy on pepper
Awesome as always. Tasty, cozy, delicious. Great food and service and atmosphere
The Brentwood is a gem. The food is always incredibly good, the service attentive and the restaurant cosy and welcoming. It's one of our favorite dining spots although it books very quickly especially on the weekend.
Fantastic restaurant, great food, fabulous bar with long list of fine wine and spirits, friendly waiters AND above all the manager Eric, he treats you so welcomed that you would never want to leave the place!!!!
Thank you all!
Great food and service
Great ambience! We came late after a UCLA basketball game...no problem getting even after game went to Overtime and we had to delay our reservation by 30min. Kitchen Regular menu stays open until 11.00 and even later with a “late night” menu. Austin was our waiter and he was great...everyone was super accommodating . Food was fabulous. Try the lamb or the goat cheese ravioli, even the mac and cheese or the Chicken Pot Pie! Atmosphere was rich and cozy...perfect bar scene with neighborhood feel. Highly recommend. We will be back the next time we are in town from Memphis!!!
I had a 6:00 reservation. My friend was stuck in traffic on Barrington due to an accident. At 6:15 Eric, I'm assuming he's the manager, came over to my table and told me he had another seating at 8:15 and we would have to be out of there by then. I told him it wouldn't be a problem. My friend arrived and we had an excellent dinner. At around 7:15 my husband unexpectedly joined us and ordered a glass of wine and asked to see the menu. While looking at it, Eric came back and told us he needed this table by 8:15 and there wouldn't be time for my husband to order. I understand that we may not have had time. It was Eric's pressuring us that I object too. As we were leaving I pointed out to Eric we were out of there well ahead of his 8:15 time slot and that I didn't appreciate how much he pressured us to be out of there. His response was he told us we had to be out and he argued with me about this. As much as I like everything about Brentwood Restaurant, it will be awhile before I return.
Never again. I’ve been dining here for years. The other night I was asked to vacate my table after two hours as I was told there were people waiting for it. Inexcusable, rude, embarrassing, classless.
A group of 7 of us are working on a committee project and went to The Brentwood Restaurant for dinner. Everyone thought it was a fantastic choice. Our server, Eric, was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and courteous. Our meals were outstanding - everyone loved what they ordered. Overall, everyone was very pleased.
Was just taken aback when we arrived 10 minutes late after having haircuts next door,(we apologized) and we were quickly told that our table had to be released at 8:00 and this was the problem arriving late , that everything had a timing in booking. Didn't think that needed to be dumped on two ladies. I was embarrassed to have bragged about the food and service to my friend and have a 'greeting' like that. We felt rushed by the staff and I felt like our fun night could go south. I'm not used to this kind of treatment. I 've been there a few times with regulars and I more often dine at Capo and Cora's . I mentioned who I dined with in the past and all of a sudden the treatment improved. they offered a change of table that we wouldn't be rushed out of. The food was very good, service got better. I am not a snob or demand special treatment, I will chalk it up to a strange, busy night. It was somewhat awkward. Thank God I was with a cool, confident friend who doesn't let stuff like that bother her.
Had another lovely night at The Brentwood. The food and service are excellent. The atmosphere is cozy; love the dark, cool room. As always, Eric took excellent care of us and seated us right away at a lovely booth. We will be back.
very nice spot that always feels just right. food and service are both great!
In town with my wife for the Rose Bowl. Wanted a restaurant close to our hotel and found The Brentwood Restaurant and Lounge. Meal was very nice and loved our waiter. Great neighborhood feel.
It’s a standard local spot. Good from time to time. the menu could use an update and the decor seems like it requires the level of darkness they employ. The noise level is too loud for quiet conversation. Not sure why as it’s not a young crowd.
Duck salad excellent and big. Loved the meatloaf
Fabulous food, wine list,
service, dining ambiance, client else, and valet parking
