I was pleased with the food and service however my party and I were very disappointed when the server informed us only beer and wine was available during dinner due to lack of inventory. I've been a frequent patron of this restaurant and have enjoyed the selection of specialty drinks and was very disappointed not having the option to enjoy them with dinner.
It was amazing
Met my dad here visiting from out of town because he always needs to go somewhere with a crabcake. Great service and a beautiful view, but the meal left a little something to be desired. I'll be back once the weather is nice to enjoy the patio.
We had Easter Brunch here and it was delicious! It was a 3 course brunch for $38 and it far exceeded our expectations. I started with a organic vanilla yogurt with homemade granola parfait which was outstanding. Then my second course was chicken and waffles. The chicken was moist and perfect and the buttermilk batter was light and tasty. The waffles were light and airy and delicious. The plate was decorated with colorful jelly beans! I could only eat half of this course as the serving was generous. Then the final course, which was a chocolate lava cake or strawberries and Chantilly cream. The kind and attentive waiter recommended I try this! It was moist and gooey with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and some decorative berries. and it was also delicious! We had a nice, relaxing experience, enjoying our water view, delicious food and good service. We would highly recommend brunch here!
The atmosphere was nice. It was Easter brunch and I was glad that the regular menu was available in addition to the special menu because it gave us a very nice selection. The bottomless mimosas were $15 pp and enjoyed by many in our party. Everyone enjoyed their food. My only criticism is that I would have liked more chicken options. My dad ordered from the kids menu because he didn't want chicken and waffles or a chicken sandwich. The kids menu had chicken tenders. There was a lot of beef and seafood options.
I went to the BoatHouse Canton for Easter brunch. I live in the Maryland suburbs, but have visited the BoatHouse many times when I lived in the city. The food has gone downhill from since I was last there a year or two ago. I ordered an egg sandwich, which was my "go-to" order in the past and it was a big disappointment. It looked like a McDonalds egg McMuffin. No joke. The english muffin was not toasted with a piece of Kraft-esque yellow cheese with a mediocre sausage patty. The breakfast potatoes on the side were wet and soggy, not like the delicious crunchy potatoes like I remember. My fiance enjoyed his chicken and waffles, but I was very disappointing with my underwhelming fast-food looking food. I would recommend to someone looking for a nice restaurant on the water for a nice dinner - not brunch!
We had an amazing bartender/server who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The experience overall was great and I plan on telling my friends and family about it.
We arrived at 6:30 and weren't served until 7:15. One person needed to see the list of add-ons for a make-your-salad toppings, and it was almost 10 minutes before the waiter brought the list. The food came about 30 minutes later.
The service was good, attentive without being intrusive. The food was tasty but smaller portions than I’m use to getting. Nice decor and friendly staff.
The crab cakes were underwhelming especially for the price
The Boathouse has a great location right along the water. It's fun to people watch as well as watch the boats go by. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced with a great beer list. Overall, a fun spot to enjoy a beautiful day.
Our entrees came out before the 2 appetizers!
Was a great , casual location for a few drinks and some food. Nice food choices and great happy hour.
Crab dip was great!! Pit beef sandwich was great. A steak isn’t the best option.
Thank you so much for making our second date that much more memorable! Definitely coming back
Haven’t been in a while so it was a perfect spot for a great friends birthday celebration!
This was my first time here, for a birthday brunch. This service was excellent, professional, and efficient. Everything was at a reasonable price and the food was really good for the most part. I’d definitely come back soon. I’m sure it’s perfect during the spring/summer.
We went for restaurant week. Their restaurant week menu had dishes that weren't their regular fare, which is probably why it took so long for each course to come out. The rockfish was moist and tender. The duck was a little dry - likely sat in the warmer too long. I think restaurants do better for restaurant week when they highlight their regular menu and draw in new patrons, I like using restaurant week to try something new and discover hidden gems, but this wasn't it. Not sure we will be back, though their seafood mac and cheese sounds intriguing.
Restaurant is nice and love the location, my boyfriend and just wanted to have a nice lunch date and this restaurant was a nice choice. The food taste ok, but nothing really out of the ordinary, our server was attentive and pleasant. However, the host didn’t really pay attention to our reservation request to ha a table with a view and away from high restaurant traffic, when we arrived the restaurant was not busy at all, since it was Monday and before noon. We got seats in a booth while many tables by the water views stayed empty, and pretty much all other guests were also seated in n the other booths around us, which turned into a heavy traffic area, noise level was loud as a large group came to seat at the bar. Not a totally bad experience, but not what we ask for.
The food was delicious and service started out great but toward the end of the meal not so much. One person at the table had to ask for water 3 times, our deserts were given to the wrong table so we had to wait quite a while to get new ones. Once they came the creme brûlée was not fully set although the flavor was good.
The BoatHouse Canton exceeded my expectations! I went for dinner with my parents and my fiancé, and we have some dietary restrictions in the group. The menu had a great variety, with something to please everyone, and all of us enjoyed our meals. The location on the water is unbeatable!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A great value!
We went on a Wednesday night for Restaurant Week. It was not too crowded as the weather was quite crappy. Each of ordered from the restaurant week menu eager to try of sampling of what the Boat House had to offer. The food did no disappoint! Our cocktails were just as delicious. The Grapefruit Crush was obviously made from fresh grapefruit juice.
Service on the other hand was lacking. There was zero element of friendliness to our server. Refills on drinks needed to be requested. Food arrives by runner with a full tray and no tray stand. He now stands around looking for another employee to help him as he cannot juggle the distribution of the food and the tray at the same time. Time for dessert and the same runner again comes with the full tray and no tray stand. He also did not come with silverware. We sat five minutes for spoons as all of our flatware from our previous course was collected.
Now comes time for the check. We were told it could not be split more than four ways. Now all seven of us are in the service industry. We know how to split a check and perhaps we are hypersensitive but know what great service is.
Even though we were offered the heated patio seating no one ever made our waiter aware we were out there until 10 minutes after being seated. However once we placed our orders our service was excellent.
We absolutely enjoyed Sunday Brunch in the loft overlooking the Baltimore Harbor. The food and service were excellent. Thank you Niko and Erica.
We went on New Year's Eve because I wanted to go someplace different. They had a Prix fixe dinner that my husband chose but I chose ala carte items. My appetizer was a cheese platter served with flatbreads with lots of seasonings. They were three excellent Cheese's especially a port up, Stout cheddar. My husband had grilled scallops that were cut on the cross section they were excellent and the sauce was excellent that came with them. I had a wine flight and my husband had a Jameson on the rocks. I particularly liked my wines I had a buttery Chardonnay and excellent diseno Malbec and an okay Pinot Noir. We enjoyed crab cake and a filet mignon wrapped in bacon done to perfection at medium. the people across the I'll from us traveled from Virginia just to come here for someplace different to eat. The service was super not overwhelming and we would definitely come back again.
The food was absolutely delicious!!! The fried green tomatoes with crabmeat is the best appetizer I’ve ever had, only thing is I wish the crabmeat was warm!!! Steak was delicious and the wings excellent!! Shrimp and grits have a rue/sauce that reminds you all the way of Louisiana.. the grits were perfect! moist but stiff and buttery, and the shrimp were grilled to perfection!!!
We had a wonderful brunch! The food was delicious, the view beautiful and our waiter Corey was wonderful!
Met some friends here for dinner on a Friday night over the holidays. It was surprisingly empty, almost eerily so. Our server was nice and the food was good but nothing spectacular. Their french fries are definitely a highlight, though as are the drinks. The service was pretty slow for being as empty as it was, but we weren't in a hurry so nobody minded. We'll likely stick to Boathouse for the summer months when it's worth the patio and the view.
Great place for co-workers to meet. More friends showed up than expected & you let us slide our tables together which was nice. Very good food, ambience, Christmas lights, etc.
Fall/Winter menu is always excellent
Food not fresh and just mediocre at best. Nice space and outdoor seating.
Such a stylish and cute resturant but food and service did not lead to it being worth the price or coming back. Server took a super long time to come to our table and was kinda a jerk. The food was quite frankly just average and overpriced. Most likely will not be returing and it’s a shame because the resturant is beautifully furnished.
The overall dining experience was really nice. We weren’t rushed and the waitress was really nice. The food was very good. It had lots of flavor. Would definitely go back.
Great food at a restaurant with a beautiful view. Will go again.
Beautiful day to have brunch on outside deck. Shrimp and grits best I've had paired with prosecco. Six jumbo shrimp perfectly seasoned and grilled served over creamy grits. Definitely will return.
I have never written a review.. but felt the need to after my experience.... Owners/ managers need to take notice the increase of poor reviews. I went with hopeful expectations based on the recommendation of a local person despite reading some negative reviews...however was sorely disappointed..
Crab cakes do not come any where close to texture and taste of those of Thames Oyster House... ordered a cheese plate for appetizer.. It was the worst cheese plate I have ever had.... salad was subpar... thankfullyI split a plate/meal with a friend.... but bill was still over 40 bucks.
Very disappointing food and service. The food was average at best and the service poor. The waiter seemed disinterested. Also, our appetizer and entrees came out at the same time. I asked the bar manager to taste the wine dispersed from a bag and she never came back to talk to us about it.
Coffee cold eggs and toast cold. Was told no dessert available for lunch??
Server never came back after food was brought to us.. we couldn’t find anyone to hive us our check.. salads were mediocre but crab cake was good. I asked if pork buns came in 2 or 3 pieces if 3 not o bring my side salad, they brought it and charged it at the end.
