The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. We love this place! We are well cared for with exceptional food. We love the French Onion Soup and short rib. We passed on the night's special of a 35 oz. bone-in rib eye. I always make room for their desserts. All courses have amazing flavors and texture.
The dinner was great including the fried brie, ribeye steak, and duck confit. We’ll definitely bring out-of-town friends back for dinner.
Great food, good wine and fabulous service. We'll definitely be back, thanks again for taking such good care of us Parker.
seated in front of grille with cook yelling out each order -- seats extremely close to fixed table
We have special diet needs and we were taken care of beautifully. We highly recommend the artisan bread appetizer and the short rib is hearty and tastes slow cooked and full of flavor. The side dishes were tasty also. We plan to return soon for another dinner and dessert.
We do come here a bit and it is always five stars, but last night was different. I ordered a cheese board and it was served without a word of which cheese was which. At the very least it should’ve come with a small menu describing the cheeses. The cheeses themselves were tasty. I had to ask for beverages to be refilled many times and finally we all resorted to drink the water because no one had asked. When the water ran out for all of us, we watched wait staff, bus boys and even a manager walk right by our table and say a word. This happened for twenty minutes. I finally flagged down our server and asked for the check. Very very poor service this time from all except for the chefs in the kitchen. As far as food, I’m not thrilled with the filet changes. The sauce soaked the filet and took away the nice sear crust. The mushrooms were unaspiring. They should’ve left the filet clean and simply with tasty green beans. I won’t order it again. The trout was tasty. I hope management sincerely works in the above. I eat here quite often and tip over 30%, but this did not happen last night.
Happy they had a very delicious vegan pasta option!! Our server was attentive, fun, and anticipated our needs! Will go back!
A very nice, comfortable place to dine. The place had a very relaxed ambiance. The food was delicious and they had a wide selection of good tasting wines. Our server Joie was exceptional. She was extremely attentive, polite, personable, and professional. An overall excellent experience...would definitely return.
We visited the inn for Sunday brunch. We ordered the eggs Benedict and they were delicious! Ambiance is amazing.
We've been maybe 4 times and have always been impressed. This ranks with solid farm to table type places in major cities.
Great restaurant will be back again and again
It really helps to make a reservation. Definitely well worth the wait. My meal was delicious and so was my husband's! Most importantly the service was FANTASTIC!
Made an reservation but the hostess seem like we were bothering her.
Got stuck in a corner with no social distancing even though there were plenty of open tables. Took server a long time to even acknowledge us.
Finally got water and order. Was interesting the couple sat down after our food was finally delivered our server immediately came over, got their drinks, expedited their food and brought them complimentary bread which they did not touch and received their check just as fast. We had to flag our server down just to get our check as well as another table. I know places are short staff but if she would have treated everyone the same it would be different. Expected more. Especially for the price.
Our food was delicious. Sadly, the bowl of soup was barely a cupful! Could have eaten much more!
Everything about the restaurant was great except the food. I would have thought that being at an upscale place like the Biltmore and with the prices your paying it would have been much better. Ribeye had no flavor, bison was itty bitty with mediocre flavor, the short ribs with mashed potatoes came cold and were replaced by ribs that were all fat. The broccoli was salted to death. No one was happy after dinner. Service was great and the manager came by about the short ribs but the quality of the food needs upgrading.
The fried brie was fabulous and dinner was delicious!
The food and service were both excellent. My only complaint is that, from the direction we arrived, there was no indication where to park, so we had a dark walk to our car.
My family ate here after spending the day at the Biltmore hiking, touring the estate, wine tasting and enjoying everything the Biltmore has to offer.
The service was good, however the food did not impress. It was good, not great which is what I expected based upon the location and the price.
Amazing food & service!
Fantastic! The food and service were both incredible!
Fantastic food & service!
Not a bad place, but nothing truly special. Food wasn’t brilliant, just good level home cooking, at enormous premium. They keep the portions small, but to do it with mediocre food is rather a way to get you to spend more money on something else. Chocolate cake Desert was truly unimpressive, wasn’t worth the calories. So was the wine.
Server was mediocre, didn’t really offer any insights.
The only thing going for this place is pleasant ambiance.
Food was mediocre, service was whatever, not nearly up to the par unfortunately.
We live in Asheville and going to the Bistro is like going on vacation!
Just an average restaurant with overpriced food. Service was good. Wouldn’t recommend above other restaurants in the area.
We had an amazing dinner for our 25th anniversary. Our server could not have been more attentive the food was spectacular!
We love all the restaurants at Biltmore, however, last night we cut our visit short because 2 of 3 members of our party were freezing. When we got outside, it was warmer than inside, and on a cool, rainy, autumn evening, that's a little bit backward. My cousin left his coat on through the entire meal and was still cold. We were all wearing long pants and sleeves due to the outside weather. Food was all wonderful, but the portions were rather small compared to other places we frequent, with much smaller price tags. Service was outstanding and above standards. Of course we will be going back, but we will all take more consideration of our wardrobe, and dress in layers.
We have been going weekly. The tartare is delicious and my teen daughter loves the brie. The filet melts in your mouth and the mashed potatoes are divine.
On our honeymoon! Spent the day touring The Biltmore House and grounds, and ended with an amazing meal at The Bistro! Loved the Almond Fried Brie app, highly recommend!
Everything on the menu is excellent. I went with the 3 course which started with an acorn squash with a honey sauce. The second course I went with duck breast which was fantastic. The dessert was a creme de torte with habanero salt. All of this was fantastic.
Excellent service and food. Best Filet I have ever had.
we celebrated two milestone birthdays and the food was outstanding and our service was great!
Food and service were very good. Enjoyed the ambiance & dining on the property.
Every dish made my tastebuds dance for joy. Delicious food. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner very much.
Always outstanding food and service. It’s a favorite
Every morsel of food was delicious: artisanal bread with honey butter, apple-squash soup, Caesar salad, lamb ragu pasta, perfectly cooked ribeye steak with butternut squash puree, and apple cobbler hot out of the oven with homemade ice cream. Yum! The server was attentive and friendly. We had a bottle of Biltmore Malbec that was excellent. Our only complaint is that for a high-end meal, we felt a bit rushed. The soup and salad arrived just minutes after the bread, and the entrees came out not long after the soup and salad were done. Including dessert, the whole meal from seating to departing was about 75-80 minutes. Maybe some diners like to get out quicker, but if I'm dropping $200 for a meal, I like a more leisurely pace. I think a four-course, top-notch meal ought to last 90-120 minutes. Not a huge deal, considering how good everything else was, but worth considering.
Food ok way over priced.
First and critical: you can only get to this restaurant if you have a ticket for that day to the Biltmore estate or an annual membership. During busy seasons, reservations are a must. Open table is used for reservations.
The Bistro is a seasonal, local focused menu that changes multiple times a year, so you will need to check it out on the Biltmore website to see your choices. Since the menu is short (a half dozen entrees) you'll want to be sure you see something of interest.
Four of us shared a bread variety plate and a pressed watermelon salad as appetizers. All good. Great bread flavors and the honey butter was a nice treat.
Entrees included Salt cod, Chicken, and Filet mignon, each prepared in unusual ways. Nothing routine about the combinations which made it interesting to anticipate what they would be like- and see how they actually turned out. All good, although serving sizes for the cod and filet were on the small size.
Dessert was apple cobbler served warm in its own cast iron bake pan (each couple shared a pan- it was plenty for 2). Quickly devoured.
Wine list is a bit disappointing- all Biltmore winery choices, which are ok, but nothing exceptional (we had the pinot gregio).
Service was excellent. Clearly, the Biltmore hires only the cream of the crop for wait staff (we've had multiple experiences of this). While an excellent waiter doesn't make the food taste better, a bad one can just ruin an otherwise pleasant evening.
The only downside to the dinner was, as usual, the price. Other than that, I'd give it a 5.
Note: we are local and Biltmore members so we usually visit a couple of the Biltmore restaurants each year. The Bistro and the Village Social are our dinner favorites.
Everything about The Bistro was top notch!!!
I’ve eaten at several local restaurants the last last several weeks and this visit to the Bistro left me a little underwhelmed compared to my other recent dining experiences. Perhaps because it’s Biltmore, but the prices were a bit high for the what was offered. The ribeye for $53 was nothing special and the squash purée under it? All I could think of is, “Why?”
Before dinner, I started with some overpriced
fru fru cocktail that I would have sworn they forgot to put the rum in it. I got a draft beer for my second drink and I was much happier. I ended dinner with dessert. We waited so long for the sever to take the dessert order, we almost skipped it, but I try to be understanding in these days of staff shortages. The dessert was nothing memorable and certainly not worth $14.
2 dinners with tip - about $235. I expected a little bit more. Too many options around town, so it could be a while before I come back.
