The Bell & Anchor Ratings and Reviews
My favorite restaurant in Sag Harbor for sure and one of the best in the Hamptons. Excellent delicious food, always great ingredients, generous portions, wonderful attentive service. I'm always pleased by the overall experience. Since I'm rather particular and often disappointed by restaurants - my review makes Bell & Anchor stands out even more.
This was recommended to me by a merchant in Southampton Village. I have tried most of the better restaurants in the Southampton, Bridge, Sag Harbor area and was really impressed with Bell & Anchor. Everyone's food was excellent and the service was also very good.
This is one of our neighborhood go to restaurants.....reliable for anything from fresh seafood to a burger. It is consistently reliable though not very exciting. The menu varies very little with the seasons or year to year. The people couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The tables are comfortable...noise level can get loud as this popular restaurant fills up.
Waitress did not tell us about the specials. Shrimp cocktail was on the online menu, but we were told that shrimp was no longer available.
We ordered two lobster dishes, lobster Cobb salad and a pasta with lobster. Each had about 3 little pieces of the top of the claw.
Also, the bread was stale.
I can't recall when I could label every dish 5 stars. 3 of us ordered a dozen each Montauk Pearl oysters ($1 each!!!). The “Old School” Lobster garganelli w/ Corn, Basil & Saffron Cream was wonderful. (I had similar, smaller, much less satisfying dish at Almonds the previous week). I ordered it on the Prix Fixe ($37), while my wife ordered the smaller portion ($20) and they happily split my delicious arugula salad. I tasted my friend's pork chop and I will probably order it next time. His wife assured us the salmon was excellent. The four of us shared 2 desserts, both first rate. Wine and beer around and I had a generous Irish Coffee. At $130 a couple including tip ... excellent price to value in the Hamptons. The noise level hinders conversation. Service was good, but somewhat harried.
Food was exceptionally good. -- oysters, halibut, bresaola with arugula, dried cherries and pistachios (great flavor). Service perfect. Everyone very nice. Great if you need to drop someone at door and park. Easy access. Nice bar. Atmosphere but not crazy loud.
