It’s off season, but Bell and Anchor was busy and unaccommodating about moving our reservation up by 15 minutes. Frankly, our waiter was a wiseass. After our drinks arrived-almost one by one- the appetizers came shortly thereafter. However, we ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours for the main courses, one of which needed to be sent back because the well done burger was rare. The host tried his best to help out, but the waiter never apologized or checked in with us. We didn’t want to wait any longer for the burger, which we were told would be more than a few minutes, so shared one of the dishes. We frequent the restaurant off season and maybe the kitchen was just under-staffed, but I won’t be running back anytime soon.

We’ve been here twice. The first time the food was good. I always order the vegan plate. This time it was very spicy and salty. Maybe they changed chefs? I also ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. They charged a lot of money for coleslaw! Maybe it was just an off night. I’ll give it another try...

The food at Bell and Anchor is always good, but we especially love the $1.00 oysters on Sunday. My fluke special was amazing. My only negative about this place is that it tends to be very noisy, but the staff and food is stellar.

Food was fine but $14-15 for small drinks with ice, $3.50 for a glass of soda water , mostly ice, and $16 x2 per glass of red wine not even filled half way up the wine glass was insulting.

This was the absolute worst service experience I ever had. Bradlee our waiter couldn’t have been more annoyed with us and it certainly negatively impacted our dining experience. The table next to us were locals, our waiter was nice to them... My husband is celiac so he cannot eat gluten...this was a huge problem. I tried nicely to inquire about the amount of oil dishes I was interested in. When I asked for sauces on the side...again with the disgust looks. This usually doesn’t cause foul looks and disgust from servers. I try to be gracious and courteous. Everything was a problem. I asked for hot water with lemon three times. Finally it was brought to me. The meal was good. My husband had the local sea bass that we really enjoyed. I had the fluke which was good, a little salty. I won’t bother coming here ever again and I told our bed and breakfast about our negative experience. The place is on their recommendations list. Also, our waiter charged our card an extra $40 and practically slammed the bill done on our table. We had the host fix our bill. If you’re a local, it appears you are treated well. If you’re visiting I don’t recommend this place AT ALL unless you like feeling abused and bad.

We've been to Bell and Anchor countless times, both in the summer and off season. It is consistently terrific. The owner is often around and is very gracious. Fantastic staff, attentive but not intrusive. The food is excellent, both in presentation and taste. Don't miss it!

We have eaten in dozens and dozens of restaurants, and this is one of the best. Everything was delicious. The Montauk oysters were incredibly fresh. The fish chowder and salmon were extraordinary. Consider going before 7 so you can enjoy the water views. But above all, GO!

Excellent meal. We were seated at our reservation time and at a window overlooking the marina/water/sunset. Water and bread were served promptly and drink order taking soon after. We were left in peace with the menu (after hearing the specials) and given enough time to chat, explore the menu and imbibe. The waitress then took our food and wine orders. The wine was served apace, followed by our appetizers (chowder, oysters, burrata special). All was very good. Flavorful without overwhelming. Our entrees swiftly followed. The Chefs special Halibut was fantastic as was the Fluke. The Garganelli Lobster is a consistent favorite of ours. The Hanger steak was cooked to taste and excellent. We declined dessert - no room left.
