We were seated in the dining room at 5:30pm on a Monday evening. 4 servers chatted together in our view, and totally ignored us, so after waiting awhile, we finally left. We went to their bar and were seated, and no server showed up there after 10 min wait, so we left. Obviously, didn't try their food, so I just chose a 2 star Fair rating.
What's not to like! Chef Steve does an awesome job. The lamb was incredible. Can't wait to return in the summer when we can eat on the deck with the new raised fire pits.
Place was nice, not sure why understaffed ? Don’t think so, food on floor tables not cleaned buffet not maintained. Poor service as far as coffee refills water refills had to ask and re ask for others at the same table. I think a bit of staff training and it can be much better. Location was good food was good...
We enjoyed this restaurant several years ago when under a different management. Not nearly as elegant and the food not nearly as good. Atmosphere however is still good and food is good as well. Very disappointed however that when we requested not one but two bottles from the wine list were not available. The server had to tell us on two different occasions that the wines were not available. Felt badly for her. Overall a good cozy place but not the elegant refined restaurant it was before.
Nice place. Low ceiling in DR so a little loud.
Food very creative and excellent.
Staff friendly and attentive.
Kind of old school Snowmass....which is a good thing.
The red ruby trout and spinach &feta dip are amazing!!
Greatest kids burger, perfect salad and juicy steak paired with glass of nice Rioja along with friendly and attentive service makes a solid 5 star to me.
We generally love the Artisan and have dined many times on past trips to Snowmass. While my husband loved his salmon, the rest of us did not love our food. I also believe they changed the menu and did not think the new menu was anything special.
By far our best dinner experience in Snowmass so far. Service was excellent. Food was well prepared. Loved the elk satay appetizers. We will definitely return. Could not have ask for more.
Excellent services
Amazing steak and fritters and awesome butter scotch ice cream
We enjoyed our meal— the local trout was excellent!
Service was great! Food was inventive & tasty. Great options for adults & kids. Lovely view of the base village & fire-pit. Gave us a lift back down to our lodge no worries. Great choice!
We stayed at the Stonebridge for a conference, and therefore ended up eating her a few times. I am vegan, and even though I ended up getting the same dinner twice, it was still delicious and the chef made sure we had at least 3 items we could get. Service was very friendly and the wine was very good too. Definitely recommend in Snowmass.
Service was good, food was delicious, ambiance was nice. We were seated immediately. We ent with 2 children and they were pleased as well.
My daughter and I spent a week skiing in Snowmass. We found this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. We ended up going twice in a week. The food was outstanding! You can't go wrong. Love the trout, lamb bolognese, and the salmon. The flourless chocolate cake was excellent! Great wine, nice service...very nice atmosphere. We observed all age groups and families are welcome. Nice wine list! Thank You for making our visit memorable. Karen was an outstanding server! We will definitely return when we visit Snowmass again!
It took 1 hour to bring our plates and the meat was cold.
The food was awesome. Seemed odd that you had to pay for bread?
Very good food excellent
We came across the artisan when looking for a place to eat for the Snowmass balloon festival. The menu is quite varied with something to please everyone. Portion size was perfect, service was delightful, and the ambience was fit for families to special occasions or even a date night. Great value compared to other options in the area.
Restaurant was attractive, had a nice table by the window. Waiter was very nice but food did not come for 40 minutes. If you want bread you must order a $6 portion of cabata bread. Not appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber in Snowmass CO. My husband had half a chicken with rice and cashews - OK but nothing great. I had a baked salmon dish that was good but a little overcooked. All in all, disappointing since we went there for a wedding anniversary celebration. Nothing special was offered for the occasion. Great reviews for this restaurant on Trip Advisor. I can't agree.
The food was okay. It was of a lower tier than we had expected. The service was very spotty. Overall we found the place to be subpar.
Limited overpriced menu in a restaurant that had no visual appeal at all.
Quick meal late at night. Good service and good food.
We love dining at The Artisan whenever we visit Snowmass. The trout is the best and most delicious item on the menu. We also enjoy the wedge salad and the desserts. Nice wine menu selections. Great for family as well as couples.
Great meal by the fire. JD was great and gave us the lowdown on the area. Couldn't ask for a better first night experience in Snowmass.
Had dinner in the bar near a television so we could watch the NBA finals. Service was good - got a little slow and mixed up toward the end but overall we enjoyed it. Didn't know they had a limited menu because of the time of year but there was still enough to choose from for a casual dinner. Full menu begins around June 15th.
Deception! Drove in and valet wasn't there. Ordered a 2009 wine from the list and got a 2011. In the middle of dinner, they turned off the music and put a hockey game on (no problem if I was on a sports bar rather than a fancy restaurant). The waiter disappeared. The kitchen was closed by 9:30. And they started stacking up chairs and tables while I was still drinking my wine. Really bad experience.
Cozy restaurant with nice fireplace and bar area. It was a decent meal..house wines were not so good. The first glass was sent back because it had turned to vinegar. My server was nice but not exceptional. I waited for change from my $150 for $96 meal however after reminding the server he came back with some cash, no receipt and the change wasn't accurate. Strangest thing ever...I guess if the room wasn't so cozy I would not recommend but it's ok if you want something easy
We had a wonderful meal at Artisan. Amy took great care of us!!!
Their steak was delicious. Also had a nice wine list. Ate at table in bar near fireplace. We loved the ambience.
We liked the cosy and convivial atmosphere. The menu was short but everything we had was tasty - we can particularly recommend the Parmesan truffle fries which were delicious.
Wouldn't be a trip to Snowmass,CO without dinner at the Artisan. Never fails to please. Book a table before you arrive in town.
Had this great French server they called FT....French Toast, because no one could pronounce his name!
Food has deteriorated in quality from a few years ago. Menu has become more limited-less exciting. No specials. Cold sitting by windows. Waiter inquired about desert while we were still eating entree. Then brought check. Never asked if we wanted coffee or tea.
Meal was excellent. Short menu which I think is a postive. Everything was very fresh. A downside is the fact that you get charged 5$ for bread. We shared a duck toast appetizer and asked if they could cut it in half. Was Tod that would be a 4$ charge so decided to cut it myself....
The steak was excellent and fries, too!
Cheeseburger not at all good.
Pasta very spicy, but good.
Very nice ambiance and service was great!
Overall happy with the place. Our server Amy was friendly and helpful. Food was good and the price was reasonable.
Loud, overpriced Experience! We were very disappointed in our meal. The food was mediocre, ambience was missing, and service was deplorable. We never received bread even after the server said he was bringing it. Then, we asked for bread once the meal was delivered. We were told it was too late. We had to wait for silverware after the meal was delivered. Water was never refilled. The requested second round of beverages was not delivered until we were done eating.
We have eaten at the Artisan for several years and find it consistently very good. My wife had the special appetizer and Scallop dinner special , and. both were excellent. We plan to return for a second dinner before we leave. I recommend it highly!
The food here is consistently good. We always order fish or the vegetarian entree. The grilled artichokes are delicious. Ruby red trout is always a good choice. Don't order the creamed spinach...not a fan of this veggie side dish. Brussel Sprouts are excellent...but beware, if you don't eat meat...chopped bacon pieces were added to what we thought would be a vegetarian side dish.
