The Artisan was formerly the best restaurant 15 years ago. It slipped to #5 in my opinion 10 years ago. It has hit a new low since Hyatt bought it and brought in an outside consultant who has now destroyed it. Despite COVID-19 issues, most other restaurants in Snowmass and Aspen were packed during the weeknights. Not the Artisan. There were 3 other occupied tables besides mine that night and 2 couples at the bar. I have visited this restaurant more than once annually for 15 years. I will not be going back until I have heard from the locals that it has returned to at least average in quality.
Later reservation - the rush was over.
Hostess kept us waiting for five mins. Once seated, it took 15 mins for cocktails to arrive (that’s quite a bit of time for scotch rocks, one beer and two glasses of wine)
The food , three burgers and a salad took another 30 mins.
This has always been a great place, but not on this night
A lovely evening with attentive service and well prepared food that came out out hot and nicely presented. Not overpriced for Snowmass.
We were about to leave because we waited so long for someone to wait on us. As we were getting up to leave, Maya (not the person who was supposed to wait on us) came to the rescue to serve us. She did a very good job. The noise level was very high, especially when the magic show was going on. Seems like an inappropriate thing to have going on in a restaurant.
Service was abysmal. Our waiter was new and poorly trained. Didn't know food or drink menu. Disappeared for 10-15 minutes every time we asked a question. Got cocktails after salads and they were wrong. Took 4 tries to order bread. Got it when entrees were almost done. Salad plates were not cleared before entrees arrived.
Grilled Caesar salad was good. Ossoo bucco was lukewarm. Got comped dessert for the inconveniences. Homemade ice cream was good.
Felt a little rushed because we were seated next to 3 tables with 28 people in the group and very high noise level. Our server was very good and was trying to do the best to get us serviced before the group fully got underway.
We had the salmon entree which was excellent
Portion could have been a little bigger for the money
The service was really bad and the food 4 points!!!
The recommendations are way much better than real experience
We ate late and unfortunately we were unable to get 4 drinks that we ordered before finally the 5th one was available . Our (French) champagne bottle overflowed when it was opened by the waiter , but no discount offered for the accidental spillage. Food was very good.
Everything great except for the extra side of kale my husband ordered. It was the size of two quarters and it did not come as part of the entree.
Excellent all-around! Then. I had been watching the group next to us. At the end of our meal I went to their table and jokingly remarked that I had been counting the number of bottles and cocktails. Laughs all around. Upon returning to our table the waiter said that the General Manager had compted our drinks. I guess I picked the right table. He visited with us. He was the GM for the place where we were staying as well!
Calamari was very good. The salmon and trout were also very good!
Our waitress was not the friendliest to be kind however the rest of the staff was accommodating. Seated next to the entrance which was cold when the door was opened. It was very noisy as they have a magician performing with liberal audience participation. Steak was well done when requested medium rare. Don’t think we will be returning.
We enjoyed our meal there. The prices were reasonable and the dishes were very good. My steak was cooked perfectly and was very tasty.I was pleased with the meal, service, and ambiance.
Parker made awesome recommendations! We will definitely be back!
The food was simply terrible and the wine was even worse.
Most of the food items were quite good with the exception of the pork entrée which was somewhat dry. Also the restaurant was out of the bottle of wine that I had selected from the wine list
Good choice in a town full of foodie restaurants. This one fits in nicely and is a favorite in Snowmass Village.
Waited over an hour for food that was unacceptably uncooked.
Medium and medium rare steaks came to the table very rare. After sending them back, they were returned to us still not cooked to the correct temperature and all the sides were cold. Not what I would expect for a restaurant charging prices of this level. A manger never came by, and we were offered no compensation as you would expect in this type of restaurant. The trout was marginal at best.
Terrible service ruined the evening
It was New Years Eve but we had early dinner reservations. Apps came out at normal pace. We waited over 1-1/2 hours for mains. Dessert flew out of Kitchen.
They did comp our food but except for dessert all was mediocre at best.
First thing we noticed was the wonderful aroma, which ended up proving to be as good as it smelled. The only let down was the extremely slow service, it was over twenty minutes before our waiter approached our table for the first time and over an hour later till we received our food. It’s a beautiful restaurant, very warm and welcoming, the staff was very friendly, and the food was great. I think we will try again after the holiday season.

We have been to the Artisan in the past and even stayed at Stonebridge on one trip. We were looking forward to another great evening but were disappointed at the service provided at the front desk. They advertise on their web page that they have a shuttle bus for customers who are staying elsewhere. We were staying up hill a couple of blocks and while we walked down, I am 87 and could not walk up hill. The receptionist at the desk seemed not to care and a young man who we learned was driving the shuttle, left with a group of young women and totally ignored our request for a ride. He did come back eventually, but for awhile we were left not knowing how we were going to get back to our hotel. The good food and service in the dining room was undermined by this lack of service at the front desk. We will not go back.
The management at this restaurant is terrible. Every time I’ve been here, they are ~20-30 mins late to seat me, even with a reservation. And the kitchen is always backed up, so there is an extremely long wait for food.
The food was inedible. Ordered four dishes recommended by server. Each one was awful. Shouldn’t be on anyone’s list.
Service was poor, had ask for salad which came out after our meals. Gnocchi was cold appeared to be a reheat
We came to the Artisan for our first night in Snowmass. We would love to have reviewed the food, but it never came. We ordered drinks, and our waiter was also the bartender so the drinks came promptly. Then, however, our appetizers never came and after an hour we were told that they were out of the venison spring rolls we had ordered. After an hour and fifteen minutes the bartender brought us four bowls of Bison Chili because we were starving. The chili was average. We then waited another 45 minutes. The entrees finally came and they boxed our food up and we left. Our reservation was for 7 pm and the entrees were ready at 915, too late for us still on east coast time. The manager was very apologetic and we were comped for the entire meal except the drinks, although they also bought us two free glasses of wine. The entire restaurant was comped for meals that came 2 hrs late. I wonder what the heck was going on in that kitchen. I was ready to volunteer to go into the kitchen and cook!
Very slow service and was not kept updated by waiter (who we think also was working the bar). Never got last order of drinks and just canceled dessert order after waiting 20 mins. Another waiter handled our check.
Awesome waiter and manager took care of us. Great food!
There was nothing wrong but also nothing outstanding. Service was trying to be very nice but it came across a bit weird. Food was good but nothing outstanding. Prices are high for what it is but that is the case for many Snowmass restaurants. Always staying at the Stonebridge condos so will return.
Portions are on the smaller side for the price. Food is high quality though.
We took a break from JAS and enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio at The Artisan. Our waiter was very friendly although there were a couple snafus with his communication of our drink order and food delivery. But the FOOD was outstanding! We shared the ceviche and a lovely salad of fresh greens to start, both very creative and delicious. For our entree we enjoyed the blackened chicken fettuccine, which the kitchen was so kind to split on two plates, followed by the fresh berry cobbler for dessert.
Very nice dinner on outside patio. Service was very attentive😁
We had a reservation. Nobody was at the hostess stand when we arrived. Somebody told us that somebody would help us which happened after a few minutes. Not the best start.
We ordered beers and when the waitress brought them some of the beer ended up on my pants. I got a second napkin to cover my wet pants.
Food was okay, but nothing special.
Outside seating is nice.
I went there for the trout. I was told it wasn’t available because of a problem with the sauce. I said I would be happy with the trout simply grilled. The waitress talked to someone and I was told that wasn’t possible. I got the calamari and a side of asparagus. The food was well prepared, the side dish was skimpy.
Ok food. Ok service. Ok ambiance. Everything was just ok.
Our experience was nice, and our server John was really personable!
Excellent meal. Melody our server was great! Good choices comfortable atmosphere and not very noisy. We will be back.
