Probably not the best meal we have had here over the years. We will chalk it up to the off season. Food was just OK.
Why didn’t I listen to the comments of the 1 and 2 star reviews?! Don’t make the same mistake I did! We were seated on the patio at approximately 9:20 a.m. today. They close breakfast service at 10. My daughter ordered for us while I ran to the bathroom. We did get our drinks, but then....nothing. No one came by to check on us for awhile. At one point, the hostess came by and asked if everything was ok and we were like, yeah. Then, our waitress finally came by and cheerfully said, how was everything? We replied we hadn’t gotten our food yet (it was about 9:40 or so at this point). She scooted away to check on it. Come to find out, the order hadn’t been entered! 🤬 When the food finally arrived, there was a few issues - my toast wasn’t toasted and my daughter’s eggs were over easy instead of the over medium that she ordered. The breakfast potatoes were really good. We were both happy (she didn’t mind that the eggs were undercooked) with our meals, thus the 2 points. Once we had our food, we felt rushed to finish - they kept stopping by. Then, they brought the check and said they comped us 50% for the trouble. Then, when I went to pay, I handed her $20 for a $14.90 bill. She asked if I needed change - um, yes! She gave me change in ones instead of a five, which frustrates me when staff does that. I’ve docked stars for the service and the fact that the food wasn’t as we had ordered.
My wife and I had dinner at the Artisan and we enjoyed it. We had a table outside on the patio on a lovely August evening. Food and service were very good.
Food was just OK, nothing that was a WOW! REally so many other spots in the area that are
better options. This is a restaurant inside the hotel and it feels like it. Maybe a good place to
get a drink or something or nice if you were staying at this hotel. Food was just dissapointingly
Santiago was an excellent server. The roast chicken dish with corn muffins was delicious and not overcooked. The wine serving by the glass was generous, the pinot grigio bright and flavorful. For dessert we had the strawberry-rhubarb crisp with Mexican chocolate ice cream. It was tasty too. A quiet ambiance.
Service was rather slow. I don’t think the restaurant was staffed adequately for the business it was doing. The food was pretty good. In enjoyed my chicken burger and the calamari was delicious
Loved this restaurant. We sat on the patio and it was nice and quiet. There was a slight breeze and hummingbirds going around the flowers on the patio while we ate. We really enjoyed the food. The Hazelnut Ruby Red Trout was delicious, though next time I would get the Brown Sugar sauce on the side. It was overly sweet and not needed as the mashed Yukon gold and Asparagus had great flavor. The Cornbread Calamari was amazing, had strings of Zucchini and Squash with Peppadew peppers and came with Lemon Aioli and Diavolo Sauce. I would get this dish everytime. We had the House Ricotta Gnocchi... it was okay. I prefer Gnocchi to be crispy on the outside and the dish could have used more seasoning. Our server had 10 tables and maintained a great composure through out our entire dinner. She did a great job and made the night that much more enjoyable. We will definitely go back when we are in Snowmass again.
We went there to see Dic Eason’s Magic Show. They ran out of their only choice of a Sauvignon Blanc and wine selection is limited. The Gaspacho was good, not very spicy. The corn chowder got unanimous good reviews. The othe entrees were very good.
Doc Eason’s show was magical.
Our server was what made the evening most enjoyable. She was so cheerful and energetic. We were so impressed, we booked again for breakfast. Unfortunately, it was a different staff and a completely different experience.
The Artisan is a comfortable, welcoming restaurant with friendly servers in an unpretentious environment. The food has been consistently fresh and true to the menu description each time we've dined there. We live nearby and it is becoming our neighborhood go-to restaurant!
We were seated in the dining room at 5:30pm on a Monday evening. 4 servers chatted together in our view, and totally ignored us, so after waiting awhile, we finally left. We went to their bar and were seated, and no server showed up there after 10 min wait, so we left. Obviously, didn't try their food, so I just chose a 2 star Fair rating.
What's not to like! Chef Steve does an awesome job. The lamb was incredible. Can't wait to return in the summer when we can eat on the deck with the new raised fire pits.
Place was nice, not sure why understaffed ? Don’t think so, food on floor tables not cleaned buffet not maintained. Poor service as far as coffee refills water refills had to ask and re ask for others at the same table. I think a bit of staff training and it can be much better. Location was good food was good...
We enjoyed this restaurant several years ago when under a different management. Not nearly as elegant and the food not nearly as good. Atmosphere however is still good and food is good as well. Very disappointed however that when we requested not one but two bottles from the wine list were not available. The server had to tell us on two different occasions that the wines were not available. Felt badly for her. Overall a good cozy place but not the elegant refined restaurant it was before.
Nice place. Low ceiling in DR so a little loud.
Food very creative and excellent.
Staff friendly and attentive.
Kind of old school Snowmass....which is a good thing.
The red ruby trout and spinach &feta dip are amazing!!
Greatest kids burger, perfect salad and juicy steak paired with glass of nice Rioja along with friendly and attentive service makes a solid 5 star to me.
We generally love the Artisan and have dined many times on past trips to Snowmass. While my husband loved his salmon, the rest of us did not love our food. I also believe they changed the menu and did not think the new menu was anything special.
By far our best dinner experience in Snowmass so far. Service was excellent. Food was well prepared. Loved the elk satay appetizers. We will definitely return. Could not have ask for more.
Amazing steak and fritters and awesome butter scotch ice cream
We enjoyed our meal— the local trout was excellent!
Service was great! Food was inventive & tasty. Great options for adults & kids. Lovely view of the base village & fire-pit. Gave us a lift back down to our lodge no worries. Great choice!
We stayed at the Stonebridge for a conference, and therefore ended up eating her a few times. I am vegan, and even though I ended up getting the same dinner twice, it was still delicious and the chef made sure we had at least 3 items we could get. Service was very friendly and the wine was very good too. Definitely recommend in Snowmass.
Service was good, food was delicious, ambiance was nice. We were seated immediately. We ent with 2 children and they were pleased as well.
My daughter and I spent a week skiing in Snowmass. We found this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. We ended up going twice in a week. The food was outstanding! You can't go wrong. Love the trout, lamb bolognese, and the salmon. The flourless chocolate cake was excellent! Great wine, nice service...very nice atmosphere. We observed all age groups and families are welcome. Nice wine list! Thank You for making our visit memorable. Karen was an outstanding server! We will definitely return when we visit Snowmass again!
It took 1 hour to bring our plates and the meat was cold.
The food was awesome. Seemed odd that you had to pay for bread?
Very good food excellent
We came across the artisan when looking for a place to eat for the Snowmass balloon festival. The menu is quite varied with something to please everyone. Portion size was perfect, service was delightful, and the ambience was fit for families to special occasions or even a date night. Great value compared to other options in the area.
Restaurant was attractive, had a nice table by the window. Waiter was very nice but food did not come for 40 minutes. If you want bread you must order a $6 portion of cabata bread. Not appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber in Snowmass CO. My husband had half a chicken with rice and cashews - OK but nothing great. I had a baked salmon dish that was good but a little overcooked. All in all, disappointing since we went there for a wedding anniversary celebration. Nothing special was offered for the occasion. Great reviews for this restaurant on Trip Advisor. I can't agree.
The food was okay. It was of a lower tier than we had expected. The service was very spotty. Overall we found the place to be subpar.
Limited overpriced menu in a restaurant that had no visual appeal at all.
Quick meal late at night. Good service and good food.
We love dining at The Artisan whenever we visit Snowmass. The trout is the best and most delicious item on the menu. We also enjoy the wedge salad and the desserts. Nice wine menu selections. Great for family as well as couples.
Great meal by the fire. JD was great and gave us the lowdown on the area. Couldn't ask for a better first night experience in Snowmass.
Had dinner in the bar near a television so we could watch the NBA finals. Service was good - got a little slow and mixed up toward the end but overall we enjoyed it. Didn't know they had a limited menu because of the time of year but there was still enough to choose from for a casual dinner. Full menu begins around June 15th.
Deception! Drove in and valet wasn't there. Ordered a 2009 wine from the list and got a 2011. In the middle of dinner, they turned off the music and put a hockey game on (no problem if I was on a sports bar rather than a fancy restaurant). The waiter disappeared. The kitchen was closed by 9:30. And they started stacking up chairs and tables while I was still drinking my wine. Really bad experience.
Cozy restaurant with nice fireplace and bar area. It was a decent meal..house wines were not so good. The first glass was sent back because it had turned to vinegar. My server was nice but not exceptional. I waited for change from my $150 for $96 meal however after reminding the server he came back with some cash, no receipt and the change wasn't accurate. Strangest thing ever...I guess if the room wasn't so cozy I would not recommend but it's ok if you want something easy
We had a wonderful meal at Artisan. Amy took great care of us!!!
Their steak was delicious. Also had a nice wine list. Ate at table in bar near fireplace. We loved the ambience.
