Bowl of House-Made Lobster Bisque
A good time was had by our guests and ourselves. My only complaint is that several times I noticed that a table near the kitchen was being preferred by the meat servers, even after we had specifically asked for certain items. Our schedule was tight, but we were there for just under 90 minutes. We have eaten there thrice and have never had this problem in the past.
For my husband's and I first time dining,
I would have to say, the food was horrible. The hot sides they served us was cold. We had the last reservation so I don't know if that had anything to do with but still for an expensive meal, I feel I did not get my moneys worth. And my martini taste only like juice, definitely watered down for me.. the wine glasses had some stains in it. I wish they also served more chicken as a meal. I don't eat beef or pork. Should have done more research. I do feel that just because it was last reservation, it was bad but if you go early I believe you could have more of a specialty.
This was a very nice evening. They were quite busy which is understandable for a location like this. I would recommend anyone to come to this place.
I have celiacs so it is very difficult to eat out, they are very understanding. All near is gluten free and the chef came out to personally tell me what I could eat from the salad bar and sides. It was a wonderful experience for me!
Sadly, I’m not sure of what exactly happened to this location. They were understaffed, food quality was not up to par, not all items were available and service was lacking. We had reservations, arrived on time and still had to wait more than 10 mins to be seated; meanwhile, walk ins actually got seated before us. This was not an experience I’m used to from this franchise at all. Texas de Brazil of Norfolk did not meet my expectations unfortunately. I’m highly disappointed for the money we spent.
Our server was great. That was the plus side! We have gone to Texas de Brazil in Las Vegas, Denver, and Pittsburgh and always had a nice experience. But this location was just ok.
The restaurant was cold in temperature. We all wore our long jackets all through dinner. The salad bar lacked the variety I’m use to with the TDB brand. I felt like I was in a cafeteria and not a fine dining environment. The food was ok. Some items full of grizzle, some too salty, and some was very tasty. But like I mentioned in the beginning, my server was awesome and very attentive.
I was disappointed with this visit but does not deter me to eat at other TDB locations.
First and foremost it’s very important that Texas Brazil’s Corporate office consider to be more engaged in there UPSCALE establishments. All of them. For me to spend nearly $400 out of my pocket instead of vesting in my own Holiday dinner. This was NOT the customer experience and I have frequent Texas Brazil Steakhouse several times. I felt Rush to eat while they cleaned and broke down salad bar to avoid you from eating anymore. With the dirty tables sitting there way before I arrived at 9pm it was not a good vibe at all. Check with their merchant service. I have every intention to contact corporate regards to Poor Head Hostess attitude, she didn’t speak rude but wasn’t enthusiastic about my inquiry to fix my problem. And quick to correct me on locations of Texas Brazil Steakhouse. Waitress needs More training and coaching, she left another table sitting and never brought food we order extra and Slooow. We had her remove item not received and nasty drinks. O one more thing, tables were dirty of uneaten food where people had sat during their previous. And there were at least 6 tables just unacceptable for UPScale dining. The meat server was more helpful and Courteous. If I decide to visit again I will TIP personally. Waitress tried to charge for food not received. She had to reprint at least 4 receipts. Check before you pay and ensure your waitress or waiter correct promptly. Right now I have instructed my family to Not patronize this steakhouse as their are some corporate issue which needs to be addressed. Obviously, their happy with just 1 award. So be it!!
Thanksgiving… waitress disappeared…. Slow with meat coming out and not all options from menu and servers rude
The hostess was absolutely miserable she was not fun to deal with at all. Our waiter ended up being a manager. It seemed like someone called out and they were understaffed. Felt bad she had like 5 or 6 tables. The food was good but they definitely weren’t coming around as often as they usually do.
The food was a huge disappointment compared to previous visits. The meats were not seasoned much at all, cold at times and we were half way through our meal before the sides came out. The pitcher of limeade tasted as if the limes were old. If this had been our first visit we would never return. But, we know they can do MUCH better, so will likely try again.
It’s good experience.
Has definitely gone downhill. Gauchos were few and far between our waitress disappeared and never brought out sides or refilled our drinks. Probably the last time we will come.
The first time we went on Nov 10th was awesome, we went for our anniversary, service was outstanding! Last night make us not want to ever come back! The waitress took forever to serve us and then when she did she never came back to check on us! Never brought our food! I waiting on the potatoes and banana and my wife and I just off salad bar which is great but not what I spend $170 on! When she did bring the pitcher of wine there was no sorry for taking long and look like she did not want to be there! I wasted my money last night! I don't know her name because she barely came tom our table! We sat in the front near the window. I got up and paid the cashier thats how bad it was. I need some compensation for this bad service!
We chose this restaurant for Thanksgiving this year. I usually cook but decided to do something different to relax and enjoy my family. I should have cooked or gone to Golden Corral, a family joke, only the joke was on me! We really should have gone there the service would have been better and the food too. But I’m getting ahead of myself. We got there early for our reservation and were seated with no real wait and our server came right over took our drink order and explained how everything worked, so far so good. We went to the salad and hot bar. The food on the hot bar looked old but my daughter said it was pretty good. The salad bar had good choices and everything was fresh . Our server had delivered our drinks, unsweet & sweet tea and coke, she got mine wrong, she disappeared so we were well into our meal before that got corrected. The servers that bring meat to your table on skewers in the hour and a half we were there we were offered pork ribs, once, flank stake was offered to my husband before my we got back to the table and was never offered again. We were offered Parmesan Chicken that was so dry it couldn’t be eaten ,another type of chicken that was pretty salty and that was it until I asked about other meat choices. Then someone came to our table with Fillet which was good, Brazilian sausage that was dry and one very small slice of Lamb. All of these servers rolled their eyes and acted put out. Used dishes remained on the table for the entire time we were seated and not removed until desert was ordered. Then I got the check for three people to basically eat salad and some inedible chicken I paid with tip $227! WHAT? I spoke to my server about the issues I had and requested to see a manager, there was no manager to be found I waited but got more disgusted and because I was getting more upset the longer I waited I just paid and left. I would not mind paying that price if the service and food were at the standard required for the cost. Next year Golden Coral!
It was a bit noisy for Thanksgiving and they put too much food as appetizers on the table to eat when you have enough with the salad area and guys running around with meat. The meat was delicious and salad bar great. The lobster bisque was the star along with the meat cuts. But really don’t need all the table appetizers. I guess they try to justify the expense by giving a lot of food. Otherwise it was great—been wanting to come here but they never had a reservation earlier enough in the day
Went to Texas De Brazil for thanksgiving with my elderly parents. I dropped them off at the door and I went to park. Hostess wouldn’t let them sit down even after seeing they are elderly. I had to leave the car outside and come in so they could see all 3 of us were here. The hostess was short and rude. Supposedly “corporate” was there that day and he was nite obnoxious than the hostess! Won’t be visiting this location ever again.
The meal was satisfactory but we were surprised and a bit disappointed that the meat selections did not include any shrimp, scallops, fish, or salmon. We will be unlikely to return to this establishment any time in the near future
We have been to many other locations and enjoy this restaurant. Since we moved last year, we have tried to keep an open mind but the service has been terrible each time. The hostess was rude even on a holiday. We went on thanksgiving and our waiter did not know what a “mock tail” was. We will not be back.
This restaurant is more an experience than a standard restaurant, so do your homework on the website before you go! They assume you will want the full priced dinner plan, with salad and meat service and if that’s not what you want you need to be very clear upfront. Also cannot recommend this for children unless yours really love to eat a lot! That said, our server was lovely, everything was very clean and precautions taken, and I plan to go back. Make a reservation if you want to eat at a busy time. We had one and were seated quickly on a Saturday night, but I overheard walk-ins told it could be a two hour wait.
We tried to order two different bottles of wine which they were out of but it took so long each time to tell us that we were half way through our dinners. Then we decided to order bar beverages which never arrived. We observed our server standing around while our water glasses were never filled. She asked if we liked our steak medium rare but everything arrived well done.
We had a very positive dining experience. The wait staff was attentive and the food service was very good. The one negative is that we had 6 people and could only use the Heroes discount for 4 people. Restaurant policy would not let us use gift cards for the remaining 2 diners. Minor complaint, but annoying. Thankfully, we were able to use our gift cards at the bar before dining.
It was a nice evening. Took a while for some of the meats to come out, but a manager came by to check on our table and quickly resolved the issue. Our server was wonderful, thoughtful, friendly and attentive. Some of the meats were over cooked, but overall the food was good.
The post-COVID Texas de Brazil experience didn’t measure up to before the pandemic. I felt like the number of staff members was too few to support the amount of diners and we were left alone at our table a lot instead of being surrounded by meat options. They also “ran out of table markers” (the little indicators to bring meat or not bring meat) and there were still empty tables. The food was just as good as I remember, but the service experience was less than stellar compared to what I remember.
The food here is AMAZING! The meat is so tender and delicious and the salad bar has a ridiculous amount of selections! The staff was super friendly!
Service was horrible, lack of customer service. The only person who went above and beyond for us was the lady who cleans table, she acted more like our waiter then the waiter assigned to us. I had issues with the staff serving the meat and not wearing mask, I don’t know about you but we are living in different times and I don’t want people breathing/spitting all on my food. I addressed my concern with the team and they did nothing to accommodate, what’s the point of wearing a mask if it’s going to sit on your chin. Least to say I didn’t eat any of the meat he was serving. The buffet was a mess, food all on the floor and counter tops.
At the end of the night I addressed my concerns with the manager and she didn’t even apologize or seem empathic, she had nothing to say walked away from the table. Even the manager didn’t have proper customer service so now I see where the staff gets it from.
I would never eat here again. Don’t bother sending $60 per person and have horrible food and even a worst experience.
I prefer the Richmond location. This one was busy on a Sunday night and that could have been why the service was soooo slow. I'm used to having someone coming to the table every few minutes with more food but that did not occur and we had to watch for them to get them to come to the table. The noise level was driven by a table near us with free roaming children so that's not the restaurants fault but they were loud and it was hard to ignore them. Overall, the food was okay, service very slow and will likely only do the Richmond location in the future.
I was excited about coming here - the last time I’d eaten at T de B had been a truly memorable experience. I was dismayed at my experience last night. First, the hostess was rarely at her station. When she was, she was often more interested in talking to servers than in serving the customers who were gathered in the lobby to check in.
Once seated, we were not given the customary cards - when I asked, I was told they were short on them (really? You can’t just print up something temporary at Office Depot?) and hence the servers were just stopping at all the tables whether cards were out or not. Well, that would have been fine if true. What I found after a while - and this was disappointing as heck - is that certain servers DID stop at all tables and patiently, if not cheerfully, serve us. Others focused on serving only certain patrons, and it seemed to be racially determined - the servers who always came around to us were Asian or white, the ones serving black patrons were primarily black. I watched closely after I realized we were not getting served as we ought. At one table a server brought out meat three times in five minutes while we sat there with empty plates. I’ve never seen anything like it. At my first visit, we never had an empty plate, while this time, other than the salad bar, we had empty plates more than half the time. Likewise, sodas sat empty for a half hour.
The food was okay, not amazing like the first time I was there.
The bathroom was an utter disgrace - it stank, there was no toilet paper or paper towels, and the trash cans were overflowing.
The one saving grace was my dessert, served for my birthday - while they were out of the desserts I really wanted, the cheesecake was incredible.
Overall, I have nothing but regret for our visit. I had hoped to give my two teen daughters a treat, but instead I wish I had used the same money I spent at T de B for a few trips to Golden Corral or something like that. This was just sad.
Service was great! Food Was great! Hopefully they have our dessert next time!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday the only negative thing was a baby that was visiting the cried a bit much. The food the staff the service couldn’t ask for better
This is my 4th time going to this restaurant, I’ve had better experiences in the past but each visit seems to be gradually getting worse and worse. This time the meat section was slim, they were offer about 16 meat selections on their menu but this location was only serving two types of meat, why offer so many options and only provide two?? we noticed other servers going around but constantly skipping tables/focusing on larger tables and not caring about smaller parties.Truly just not worth the money anymore, you’re better off going to another restaurant with better quality food and service.
Not enough filet mignon
Between the food and the service it was overall amazing! Can’t wait to find another one to experience!
A bit pricey for two people. be prepared to spend over $100
Food and service were great. They now bring French fries to your table along with the mashed potatoes. Lamb chops are now an additional charge.
Half of the meats we received tasted like they were boiled/watery. Inedible, something was definitely off with the kitchen. Usually have a better experience
The food was amazing, however not a lot of alternatives to beef. The Lamb that you get with the standard taste better than the Lamb chops you get with the ultimate. I would go there again.
Folks need to leave their 4 year olds at home!
We frequent Texas de Brazil in other areas but this particular location did not meet or expectations. The meat was over cooked, potatoes on salad area was flash fried, salmon was spoiled at 2nd serving so maybe new was put front of bad, whipped potatoes water logged and overall all food was just baddddd. The restaurant was fairly quiet and those serving meat seemed miserable. Our server did a great job!
This Texas De Brazil location was understaffed and and seemed to be short on a number of teh typical meats. Not worth the $.
