Our 4th visit to Terrapin Creek Cafe, and each time we have just loved our dinner.
The food is beautiful, and is a blend of tastes that you won't find anywhere else...a real restaurant! where everything is cooked there. And the people are always lovely, being casual and elegant all in one.
It's located in a most unassuming location, just off 101. You will never find it unless you're looking for it!
From the moment we walked in and were greeted with a smile and allowed to pick one from two tables our experience was excellent. Two of us faced the lovely fire and the other two commented on how warm and comfortable it was! From the beginning our service was exceptional and the food was beyond compare. I am anxious to return despite the long drive from Marin. We will be back. Thank you.
I always came here for small, intimate dinners with my partner, and recently hosted a party of 12, which the entire staff handled with perfection.
Andrew is one of Sonoma County's premier chefs. His California Cuisine style is unmatched and every meal here is sensational. A must visit for Bodega Bay!
Great fun, great food, much chatting and laughter.
Lovely service, wonderful food choices. We had a very special bday dinner for my husband.
Very nice dining experience
Always have a wonderful meal here! Fish is always great as well as other selections & starters. Love the cheesecake too!
Delicious food and wine. Great service. Wonderful restaurant. We'll be back!
This has to be one of the finest restaurants on the north coast.
Great place to celebrate a birthday!!
This is a favorite restaurant of mine in the North Bay. The small relaxed venue, the great food, the good wine list and great staff have kept this wonderful little restaurant a gem.
As a local West County diner, I feel fortunate to have TC in my vicinity. While admittedly expensive, it's worth the splurge. This isn't a stuffed-shirt, Big City over-the-top, but a 'jeans are fine,' no attitude experience. My table of four ordered four different starters and four different entrees -- not for sampling each others but because we knew everything would be great. It was! (I doubled the scallop starter as my entree. I'd do it again, and again, and again!) When the birthday gal at my table received her candle-lit dessert, it turned out the remaining five tables in the room ALL had birthday celebrants! It's that kind of festive, happy, and delicious place.
We shared everything. Pear and Mushroom Salad, Potato Leek Soup, Halibut and dessert. All were wonderful. Salad had wonderful tang. Soup was creamy and tasty. Main dish was perfectly prepared. Dessert was good; not heavy.
Best part was our server. Did not get his name. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He could riff with us like a family member.
Always an amazing dinner. Fresh ingredients, perfect
service, and a wonderful evening.
We told the waitress that we both don’t eat meat and I don’t eat dairy as well, so she suggested a salad where the meat would be removed. It was a special occasion and we were enjoying our conversation when in the middle of eating I saw huge chunks of bacon! Imagine my horror. It was sickening to have eaten meat and my appetite was ruined. The waitress was quick to share that this was her fault, but did not seem very concerned about it. It ruined our dinner experience at your establishment. It is understood that you serve a lot of meat but that you also cater to non meat eaters. The waitress gave us no reason to believe that she really cared, it was an automatic “so sorry my fault “ response. But instead of offering me another salad or anything at all, she gave my husband a cheesecake to go.
Very disappointing experience.
We've been to Terrapin Creek several times and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is outstanding. The service is superb. There wine list is unique for Sonoma County and maybe a little pricey but you can always bring your own bottle and pay the corkage fee. The seared scallop appetizer is one of the best I've ever had. If the poached Alaskan is on the menu, don't pass it up.
Great service, food and people. Never fails. Each meal is excellent each time we go.
Food was excellent as usual but the service could have been better. Once we were seated we had to wait awhile before we were greeted by our server and we had to wait a long time for our check to be taken care of.
Food and service was excellent. The squash soup was heavenly! Portions were great. We will go back the next time we are in Bodega Bay.
Six of us spent the weekend at Bodega Bay, and chose Terrapin Creek for dinner on Saturday night. We had a great time. The food was imaginative and delicious. Guillaume our waitperson, was a delight. His service was exceptional! We all live in St.Helena,so are used to fine dining....but we all said we wished we had a Terrapin Creek!
The yellowtail crudo & octopus salad were great openers. The duck entrée was most excellent! The clam pasta dish was really, really good as was the halibut.Great job as usual!
Terrapin Creek is awesome. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients perfectly prepared by Chef Andrew. The waitstaff is friendly and professional. One of our favorite spots!
Outstanding service and food. Lovely fireplace setting. Perfect birthday, date night, special occasion dining experience.
Terrapin Creek never fails to provide an absolutely wonderful dining experience from the excellent food to the exceptional staff that create an amazing dining experience each and every time.
Consistently a very good dinning experience.
We had a lovely experience. We went for Valentine’s Day. Even though we live in Bodega Bay, it was our first time at this restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding and we were made to feel so welcome! We are looking forward to going back.
Never disappointed, one of our favorite North coast restaurants
Great food and nice environs. Have already highly recommended it to friends.
Great food, great service. Can’t go wrong here. We will definitely be back.
We were there in 2011 after they got their MIchelin star, we were impressed then and even more so now in 2020. For such a small community to have such an extraordinary restaurant is a gift to any traveler that loves the Sonoma Coast. If you love spectacular food you have to try the Terrapin Creek Restaurant.
it was okay
Highest recommendation. And you can even stay at the Inn next door and stagger home after drinking their amazing cocktails and delicious local wine!
As usual the staff was outstanding, and the food can't be beat!
Loved it, the food, the service, the folks, the art, all good stuff. Even learned some French.
Unquestionably, one of the finest dining experiences on the Sonoma Coast. Always great food, wine selections and service. The pride of ownership exhibits itself every night.
Lovely. Delicious. Great service.
consistently excellent food with friendly service.
