Terrain Garden Café - Westport
Food was good! Love the bread here. We come mostly for the ambiance. Always relaxing to dine here. We were disappointed the shop was closed off, that was a bummer. Walking around the shop after dinner is my favorite part.
Always a favorite! The food is reliably good the service is always friendly!
The menu was so interesting but I chose the same old same old! Next time I’ll try something new! Brought a first time guest who wooed over the clay pot bread and specialty butter!
Two girls celebrating each other’s birthday
As always, we had a terrific time at Terrain. Food is always delicious and the service is always top class!
Had a great lunch - delicious mushroom soup & 2 yummy salads! A terrific spot!
We had to wait 15 minutes to sit. The place was pack and busy. It took sometime to get the waitress attention.
The food was awesome and well presented.
My wife loves the Terrain store and we had a good time there!
Loved the atmosphere. It’s beautiful there. Great service and top notch food. Looking forward to returning.
Overall a nice experience for am or lunch Visit to the gift shop and gardens also a added plus.
A nice place for lunch or brunch with nice atmosphere, good food and good service.
I brought my fiancé in for brunch for his birthday. Good food, good service, beautiful ambience.
Good atmosphere; good service; good food; weak on desserts and you have a noise level you can have conversation.
I very much love this restaurant! The food is delicious and the service is kind and helpful. I went on a SAturday nighty and it was quite busy. It's preferable to go at a quieter time.
A great place to dine. Always enjoy coming here for lunch or dinner. This time service was spotty, had to ask for a glass of wine twice and could not find server for a check.
This restaurant is so special with the Garden/retail aspect as well as the interesting and delicious menu. Service is superb!!!
I went for brunch with a few friends and it was amazing!
I ate quinoa salad with scallops and it is soo delicious. when you're waiting for your main dish, don't forget to ask for crispy chickpeas as appetizers.
I had a hamburger - I have to say that the plate was piled high with a portion of fries lathe enough to feed 3 people. The presentation was not appetizing , too much food! Service was rather inattentive - it was hard to find our waitress when we wanted more water.
The food was good, the service was attentive, but it was expensive. I got french toast, my mom got burrata on toast, and we both had coffees. This cost us $36 without tip.
My husband and I love Terrain, the store and the restaurant both. We've never had a bad experience, except for last Saturday... I have to say that it was handled well, by the manager and the waitresses, but one of your bussers managed to spill en entire creamer of milk onto the floor, including all over my husband's wool coat that was hanging from the back of his chair, and the people sitting on either side of us. The busser was completely clueless and never came over to apologize. Honestly, I wondered if anyone even told him what had happened. While we truly appreciated the apology from the manager (and an offer to pay for dry cleaning) and the waitress, it was more important to get it from the busser, who kept merrily on his way. A free round of drinks would have been a nice gesture as well. I'm only letting you know because we care.
Overall a very nice experience. Terrain is a charming and under-appreciated spot in Westport. Mostly known for brunch, it’s fantastic for dinner as well. Terrific wine list, including some real winners by the glass.
The food for all three of us was spectacular. That included the Red Snapper, the hamburger, and the chicken and fruit on the kids menu. I was very happy with the food for my son. I usually am not satisfied with the food for children. His was fresh and of high quality. Thank you.
Terrain never disappoints. It is my favorite restaurant/ garden store place. It is 45 minutes away from me and I still go there as often as possible. Always have a lovely lunch. Always find something fabulous to buy on my way out!
This was probably my 5th or 6th time eating at Terrain's Garden Cafe, and simply put--it never disappoints. Our waitress was particularly helpful--we accepted every one of her recommendations, and in hindsight, wouldn't have ordered any differently. Portions are delectable and "just right" (portion-wise), and allowed us to save a bit of room for dessert--which hardly disappointed! The "Chocolate Terrarium" is to die for!
Absolutely loved it! My first time and I’ll definitely be back.
As usual, very hit and miss. Service at brunch was surprisingly (based on some other reviews) quick and pleasant, but the food was a bit of a mixed bag. Order carefully and you'll be fine.
Burger was a bit over cooked but still juicy. Service was great and bread in a flower pot is outrageous. Highly recommend for brunch.
A party was happening and not able to get into dining area. Very loud.
Great space makes you feel like you're in a garden [especially in the summer under the umbrellas] or in a beautiful spacious store. Delicious food. Cramped and loud but fun!
Slow service, but tasty food. We went for Sunday brunch, the place was crowded, and reservations were very necessary. No place to hang your coat. This restaurant is attached to a retail housewears and plant store.
Words are inadequate to describe the beauty everywhere you look at Terrain. From the exhuberant greenery to the rustic design of the large space, divided into many "rooms", this homegoods store and restaurant feeds all the senses. The menu is creative, offering delicious choices for everyone. Terrain will be my go-to place in Westport from now on!
Terrain is a really great place to go to, it has a really unique vibe:) and a food is awesome, but portions were a little small otherwise we had nothing to complain about;)
Unique venue but while the food was good, part of what I ordered was forgotten then came late in a mess. Very noisy and a bit overrated. Service was fair.
It’s always great!
Made a reservation at the beginning of the week. Reconfirmed my reservation the morning of when they called me. Showed up in time. Waited 25 minutes. No sign of anyone getting ready to leave their table. Left and are done where else.
it's an experience for all of the senses! I love everything about this place...although there were many more candles burning throughout...and for those like myself, the smells did get to me after a while.
Terrain Westport never lets me down. I've been 6 or 7 times and the food is always spot on, the service friendly and the setting couldn't be better. I'm such a fan.
It is a very pretty place to sit.I thought the food was expensive for what it was - nice salads, etc, but pricey
Good fresh food with lots of salad and sandwich or toast (openfaced sandwich) options. Service is friendly and helpful.
Beautiful cafe but very poor service. There was one other table with people at 10am. It was dead quiet and got told after ordering a coffee that we had to order food or we would be kicked out in 15 min. I would understand if it was busy but there was no one there. Very poor service and had to order food that isn’t very cheap at all so we could finish the rest of our coffee date.
Future warning can only go to the cafe if you are going to eat.
