Great meal. Wonderful service. Fun vibe in an interesting setting.
Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived. We were taken to our table late and then were rushed out - never offered another drink or dessert or anything. Our server came and tried to take our unfinished entree away before we were even done eating. Understand if there’s a time limit but this was never communicated with us so it took us by surprise when our server brought the check without asking if we were done. It was my birthday and we were hoping for dessert and another glass of wine or coffee but that wasn’t even an option. We have come to this restaurant for years and have always had a good experience but last night was pretty disappointing.
We have been to Terra Plata before and it was great. However, this time the service was horrible and the food was meh. We had reserved a table on the rooftop, but we’re seated downstairs. I believe there was 1 waiter for all the tables. Took 1.5 hours to get food. Service was so bad, we almost left before our meal was served. One of our meals was so bad, we sent it back. Rather than take the meal off our check, they gave us a gift card.
Incredible service, personable and attentive staff. The food and cocktails were delicious!
The rooftop seating was very nice. It was not busy when we first got there but picked up since it was Fathers Day. After our waiter took our order we never saw him again. The kitchen brought us our food. It took 30 mins to get the bill and even then our waiter didn’t bring it. It was a very hot day, never was offered refills or anything. Was not impressed with menu selection either. As we were leaving I told the manager what a horrible experience we had, she didn’t make us pay and on top of that gave us a gift card to come back and try again with better service. She handled it very well.
My boyfriend doesn’t want to go back so I might take a friend to use the gift card. Appreciate the manager.
Strike 1: made a 1:30 reservation which the restaurant called to confirm the day prior. Checked in at 1:17 and didn’t get seated until 1:45
Strike 2: they changed the menu to a special Father’s Day menu day of without any notice, which we found out when we got to the restaurant and didn’t serve the regular menu in addition to the special one. We also tried to call the restaurant 7 times to ask because we had a few people with dietary restrictions (5 times day prior, twice day of reservation), but they were too busy to pick up.
Strike 3: ordered food and the first dishes didn’t come out until ~35 min later
Strike 4: one of the guests was missing his meal and didn’t receive it until the rest of the party (9 people) were done. We asked a few times. The restaurant did not comp the meal.
The server assigned to our table was fine, but overall for the price we paid, the food was mediocre at best and not worth it. Would not recommend this place.
Had been trying to get a table here forever so we were very excited to get a reservation for Father’s Day. It was everything we’d hoped it would be. Delicious food, outstanding service, and a wonderful ambience. The staff was so friendly & welcoming that it put everyone in a good mood .. despite it being an exceptionally warm afternoon. Our dishes were beautifully prepared and served promptly and the cocktails were perfect! Only thing that could be better would be a slightly expanded menu. The offerings were seasonal, fresh, and tasty .. but a little limited. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!
Service was great, sitting on the roof was awesome! The food was ok, but everything else was AMAZING!
We celebrated Father’s Day here. The food was amazing, and Kennedy our server was great. My 4 year old ate all the gazpacho, Eggs, and cucumber salad. Everything was so tasty. Also, I felt safe having my young one in this restaurant as the windows/doors were open and there was plenty of distancing, even for holiday brunch.
LOVE this place! Relatively expensive, but always worth the price. You can tell they put a lot of thought in the mixture flavors, textures, and ingredients. Service is always incredible too
I love this place. The food is consistently good.
The food was excellent; the service was very slow. I wouldn’t take another client or other important business rendezvous here again. I was given the excuse there were only two servers; I don’t want excuses, a manager should have stepped in to cover. We waited 15 minutes for a server. Honestly, I’m surprised nobody stepped in to help the two drowning servers. This place was highly recommended but I’ll not be echoing that.
Went for drinks and appetizers for our second round of outing for the night. Ordered cheese plate, frites and duck breast. They were all meh except for cheese plate which didn't need any cooking. Frites were a bit soggy and had no other flavors except salt. Not valuable for the price. Expecting the duck skin to have crispy skin but it was very soggy as it was submerged in the sauce. Duck was also tough to eat. It took forever to chew.
Cocktails and service were very nice. We sat on the rooftop and the vibe was spot on. I would come back for drinks only.
Loved all the food. Wine was great. Main dish could be a bit bigger.
Terra Plata is one of those places in Seattle we love. They go out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We brought our little baby nephew along with their parents from out of town and they made custom menus for his first Father’s Day!
They were also so accommodating and flexible with us and we so greatly appreciate it.
We cannot wait to go back and everyone in Seattle should go enjoy their special rooftop, amazing food, and if you are lucky you may get the same waiter we had with was in a class of his own.
Everything was great, but the only thing I think could be improved is where we were seated. Our table had the sun beating down on it (making us hot and a bit uncomfortable) and there were quite a few other tables available that didn’t have the sun on them. I totally understand that seating can be very complicated, but I’m thinking it could be a good idea to begin seating tables on the shadier side first. Because by the time those tables starting filling up, our table was then getting much less sun…hope that all makes sense! Just a suggestion, although it might not work for the restaurant for some reason I’m unaware of :)
Beautiful space. Considerate, helpful, service that was very understanding about the changing number in our party and our desire to overstay our reservation time (because it was so enchanting to be on the upstairs terrace). Thank you.
I have loved Terra Plata for years! One of my favorite spots in Seattle for a date night. The service is always outstanding and so is the food. The owners are incredible and squeezed us into a roof top table upon request even though they were booked.
Terra Plata was amazing. From the service as soon as we sat down to the ambiance to the service and food. 10/10 recommend
Food and service were very good, but was really disappointed to be told upon arriving that we could only have our table for 90 minutes. For a place that charges such a high price for the food, 90 minutes feels very short. I understand the need for restaurants to turn tables, especially right now and we were seated in the very lovely rooftop deck, but 2 hours is more standard and we wouldn't have felt quite so rushed.
My husband and I loved our cocktails and shared the cheese platter that had a lovely selection of cheeses, jams, and fruit. We really appreciated how the staff allowed us to squeeze in between reservations and experience the rooftop dining. The menu is full of foodie choices, but we also noticed there was a burger option for those less adventurous souls. The Covid partitions made it a little warm upstairs in the 5 o'clock sun, but once those are down, I am sure the evening breeze will be delightful.
Just OK food. I wouldn’t resist at all to come back but I wouldn’t come expecting to find great or authentic plates.
Service was OK. My waitress was very nice but she forgot about us for a while.
A big win is that they didn’t rush me to leave the table, which I appreciated since my date was going well.
Meh. We were sitting 30 minutes before getting water, I had to go find someone to get service.
Quality was questionable on food. Some seemed old…for a $30 cheese board I did not see the value.
Ambiance is great! Service and food is less than.
Had a wonderful meal and evening. Has become a favorite place to take family and friends!
The food was good but I did not have anything that was a true show stopper and was a bit disappointed as the price point was just too high for what it was. I was a bit in shock that half the staff had masks on below their chin, even the hostess pulled hers down every time she spoke directly at people. My hope is everyone is vaccinated and following CDC guidelines. Outdoor dining was a lovely spot and enjoyed the tasty cocktails.
The rooftop terrace is delightful even the pouring rain. We were nice and dry under the covering.
Terra Plata is always a hit with my family! Rooftop dining was fantastic even in a downpour. We enjoyed some standards like shishito peppers, frites, and the cheese plate. Also enjoyed seasonal options like the brightly flavored Asian pear salad and a green salad with radishes, goat cheese and some delicious cured meat. The steak with asparagus was devoured & the vegetarians enjoyed the pasta.
Do explore the cocktail list. I was thrilled with the mezcal offering and the sweet tooth enjoyed the seattle raindrop. My kids liked the non-alcoholic offerings. The Pinot noir offered by the glass was top notch.
The pacing of a terra plata meal enjoyed with courses of small plates is our family favorite for celebratory nights.
Took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. Another group had a reservation for our table at 5:30pm so the delayed/slower service made it so we could only have one drink.
We had a early afternoon Sunday brunch on the rooftop under a rain cover protecting us from the pouring rain. Lovely meal with our newly 21 yr old sons and although we had mistakenly marked two guests when we were four the staff was able to accommodate us. Side by side tables were dividing by plexiglass glass ‘walls’. Exceptional food, wine (wonderful well-priced rioja), delicious cocktails.
Nice place at the triangle corner of the streets. Good ambience. The server missed getting spoons etc. but otherwise good service.
The service was outstanding, the staff was kind and accommodating. The breakfast sausage sandwich was delicious!
We were left waiting several for long times for simple requests like a house made soda. I timed it, and it took 20 minutes for that to come. French fries were over fried and oily. The attention of the staff was given to a group table and my wife and I had to get up to speak to a waitstaff to get their attention.
Food was average at best and not what we expected given other reviews.
Amazing, fresh food and awesome service!!
Disappointing experience here. We were not seated until 7 pm for our 6:30 reservation (along with multiple other parties with reservations who were kept waiting.) My husband ordered the only vegetarian option on the menu, and it was inedible - too much salt, too much garlic. So he had to go without dinner. My duck was overcooked and bland. Service was painfully slow. Will not be coming back.
Good food and service, downstairs had poor airflow so on a hot day it’s easy to sweat in your seat.
Great for casual dinning or formal. The food is incredible, the staff are amazing and it’s an all around wonderful experience.
I wouldn't come back here again. I came with a party of 7 for to celebrate my graduation. It took over 15 minutes for the waitress to greet us, and it took an extremely long time for everything from coffee to food to the check to come out. My mom's plate came last, almost after everyone else had finished eating! The menu was limited and over priced. I will not be coming back here again.
Good. Could have more food options especially for allergens and vegans.
Love this place, the food is always amazing and the staff is very friendly. The whole experience of dining at Terra plata is a 100% love for food, caring for the planet and a big sense of community. We love coming here ❤️
