Great food, Ton of tequila's to try, menu was not too large but diverse, Very loud, but great place, Highly recommend
We love Tequila’s. It never disappoints. The staff and owner make guests feel so at home. Roses margarita, margarita rojo, and other creative drinks showcase quality tequilas and mezcal. Best shrimp ceviche ever! Guacamole with bacon and chipotle, fish in mango-ginger sauce, and beef-filled poblanos tickle the tastebuds. We went two nights in a row because of seamless cordial service, lovely art, historic building, decor, lively vibe, and wonderful food.
Love this place! Great decor, great service and great food!
The food was excellent and the service was as well. Only thing was they are very diligent about clearing the plates right away so if you are not done then you need to be on top of that. Will come back for another meal in the future.
Best restaurant I have been by far. Made me feel very welcomed
Everything was marvelous! My only complaint was that at 5PM, we were seated in a fairly large room in the back and it was a bit too cold.
Did not realize it was restaurant week
Chose this place to accommodate vegetarian friend
Vegetarian selections were few
Vegetarian taco soup was mainly broth and tortilla strips - no beans or other veggies
Very busy - seating was delayed - service was delayed
A stark difference from past visits - will give them one more chance ...
Oh my, the molcajete and guacamole were incredible. Best authentic Mexican I have had (and that includes Mexico City!)
Manwell was our server for 9 of us. He was great. The staff is entertaining. Food is great. Cocktails even better.
The service is unmatched. It rivals the steakhouses in the city, and the food is always delicious. We love coming here because you do not receive this kind of attention to detail and pride in service anywhere else.
Extremely delicious food and friendly service! I would definitely recommend the taquitos and enchiladas.
Superb meal, service, setting and value for Restaurant Week! Had wanted to try before, but they are always so busy you really need an advance reservation. The taquitos, chicken enchiladas with tomotilla sauce, chocolate mousse, chips/salsa and guacamole were all exceptional! And I’m from Texas so we know great Mexican food. It is a very large and historic building so the interior of the restaurant was the icing on the cake. We will be back!
We have enjoyed many dinners at Tequila’s. Tonight’s dinner was another delicious meal! My husband and I both had the Mar y Tierra, shrimp with rib eye steak. I highly recommend the empanada appetizer. Tequila’s makes the best flan I have ever tasted! If you are looking for authentic Mexican cooking, give Tequila’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Ceviche was fresh and delicious. South of the Rio was a refreshing and spicy drink. Service was phenomenal. Canelo was attentive and fun. We had the best time. It was a fun ambiance.
Staff was incredibly nice, the food was really good, and overall I would come again! Prices are a little high but definitely worth special occasions!
We went for restaurant week and enjoyed delicious food and drinks.
The service was fast and pleasant and the place looks great.
We'll definitely go back.
Empanadas had no taste. I chose the beef option and the meat was not seasoned. For an entree I chose enchiladas and the seafood did not have any flavor and it was not a good taste at all. I ended up not eating my meal and ordering instead two cases of guac and chips to supplement my hunger. Not worth the money and would not recommend.
Food was excellent but the service was terrible. Our group of 3 said we didn’t want any alcoholic drinks and our server immediately made the decision that we were not worth his time and attention because our check would not be higher. Our orders were incorrect, our water glasses remained empty for a majority of the meal. He was rude and inattentive and we felt judged and punished for choosing to forgo expensive alcoholic drinks. Food was good but will not return.
I come here every year for restaurant week. Each of the rooms has a distinct character, but the classy ambiance is maintained throughout. The molcajete de carne, filet grito, and ceviche are all some of my favorite dishes in the city. Plus the cocktails are incredible! I always get the cucumber margarita, the juice just tastes so fresh!
I went for lunch during restaurant week. Love the food! Friendly staff. Will go again.
Loved it!! Fantastic food, cool atmosphere...really want to go back for happy hour!
Tequila's is always a great experience. Authentic quality Mexican cuisine. One of the best of the bests.
The service and food is always amazing!
Only issue was first table was next to a vent blowing very cold air. We were moved but that room was super warm.
But service and food were great.
The restaurant was really cool. Our server was awesome - friendly, knowledgeable, was there when we needed him but never a pest. And now for the best part - the food! We were there for Restaurant Week and were very impressed with the amount of delicious, well-prepared, excellent quality food. Three of us got the steak and shrimp, which was absolutely delicious! Two of our party got the seafood enchiladas and loved them. One guest got the pork and thoroughly enjoyed it. The appetizers were wonderful, as were the margaritas! We all had the flan or tres leches cake and were pleased. We will most definitely return to Tequilas, even when it’s not Restaurant Week. Five stars all around!
This was my first time at this restaurant and I must say it was a great experience. Our server was very informative and attentive to our need. The food was amazing. I will definitely come back again.
It was lovely
Just getting together with an old friend restarting a friendship, that was lost in the cracks of time, it was a great celebration! Great food great service as usual !! I am a client of Tequilas for more than 30 years , so I can tell you enough!
Tequilas is the top choice of our family for special occasions. We went Jan. 11 to celebrate a good friend’s retirement. Authentic Mexican cuisine never disappoints. The special Surf n Turf featured a succulent filet mignon (8 oz I believe) paired with four Gulf shrimp. At $38, it was an excellent value, in my wife’s opinion. The men in our group both had steak—I enjoyed a healthy cut of ribeye, seared to a medium rare; my retiring friend raved about a marinated flank steak. His wife was at first disappointed by her chicken dish; smothered in melted cheese, there was no chicken to be seen, but the tender pollo did indeed lie tantalizingly beneath. She was more than sated.
Our only criticisms were of our sizable pitcher of Margaritas, which tasted smooth (no acidy citrus burn) but we suspected contained little tequila (we detected little taste of alcohol or its effects). Our major disappointment was with the acoustics—it’s frequently crowded and noisy, but an adjacent table had an unusually loud group, making it hard at times for us to hold conversations.
The service was courteous and attentive, although it took a few extra minutes for our complimentary chips and salsa to arrive, but just a minor quibble.
We loved our experience but was disappointed that they no longer serve caramel crapes. The coconut tequila drink was DElish!!
Very interesting and varied menu. Service was excellent and attentive. Always a pleasant dining experience. One of my favorite places in Philadelphia.
OMG!! I love this place.. I always wanted to try and now that I did u will be a regular!!! The environment is stunning g and the food is outstanding... yum!!! I can’t wait to return soon!!
Every time I’ve eaten here, it has been fantastic. The food is Delicious and the servers are very knowledgeable and friendly.
We went to celebrate my mom's 61st birthday. She had a great time and they truly made her night special. Ambiance was great, as well as food!
Great city find, authentic Mexican food, yummy cocktails! Only down side during our visit-waitress was too attentive removing silverware and plates as soon as we were finished with appetizers and cocktail glasses before finished (I like the melting ice...).
Service was excellent. Our server Anna was excellent explaining the menu and serving the table and Oscar was happy to entertain our son with slight of hand tricks. All the other staff were very attentive and in traditional latin style allowed us to relax and not feel rushed to leave the table.
Empanadas with huitlacoche, queso fundido, and Tortilla soup were excellent . My daughter ordered Sabana Invierno De Pollo which was outstanding. We shared the 16oz ribeye special which was just okay. Would definitely stick with the more traditional style dishes.
Love it here....always a great experience!!!
Everything was as good as it always is. And it’s perhaps the most beautiful restaurant in Philadelphia.
The food and service are outstanding. If you are looking for a more traditional authentic Mexican restaurant look no further. The margaritas are amazing and don’t forget so save room for dessert!!
The food was great although a bit pricey, and the atmosphere a lot of fun.
I would defiinitely recommend it.
