   The waiter began by giving my family, who had eaten here once before, and myself, who had not, around a 7 minute account of the restaurant’s history, and how he knew the owner—who had “deep pockets” along with people in Charlottesville, which allowed for the restaurant to remain open for five years before it made any money. He told us about the grade of the sushi, knew how to pronounce the Japanese words on the menu, and told us about the significance of where one places and holds the chopsticks in the hand. I don’t know if he thought we would be impressed by his stressing the financial component of the restaurant and Charlottesville, but I presume that he thought we were neophytes more generally in life itself. This may have been because we were not dressed up and rather relaxed in language and appearance. It is because of the server’s treatment of us and the difference in his attending to other tables that, for me, made this a less-than-enjoyable restaurant experience. The tables around us were told about the urchin, for instance, but we were not. We eat at Nakazawa in Washington, DC, lived in Asia, and sing songs in Japanese. We have no desire to return to Ten. If you do go to Ten, however, to be safe, be sure to tell them you have eaten there before, regardless of the truth.

   Booked for graduation weekend and didn't realize it was a prefixed menu. While we all agreed to still try it, this was not a good experience. The service was horrible even though the restaurant was not even full. The sushi roll entrees were worse than a supermarket sushi. I've heard good reviews from this restaurant on a random night which is why I booked this. The food was not good at all. The poke bowl was bland and mostly rice. Shame on Ten for the price and the poor service. Took a half hour just to get the bottle of wine we ordered.

   Great food! Amazing ambiance! We came here for a bachelorette celebaragijn that just so happened to be during UVA graduation week. The $75 price fixe menu was well worth the price! The portions were huge amd the drinks were delicious! I would definitely come back for a special occasion or date night!

   1st time at Ten - fantastic food and service- while mostly sushi/sashimi they had fantastic options for those looking for alternatives. The Wagu steak was amazing- definitely going back

   Our visit to 10 was a rollercoaster of flavors, starting with the special fried Panko oysters that were overly breaded and reminiscent of canned seafood—definitely not the fresh delight we hoped for. While the miso soup was comforting, its small portion left us wanting more, and the tempura shrimp was weighed down by heavy batter. Some of the items were over salty and the flavors were underwhelming. Thankfully, the sushi was a saving grace, fresh and beautifully presented, reminding us of the ocean's bounty. The service, however, was exceptional, with attentive staff who genuinely cared about our experience.
