The food presentation was rich and pleasing. You will find the sauces and spices to be slightly different than what you are used to. The dining room was busy, but it was not deafening loud, like so many restaurants these days.
This has been One of my favorite go to places. They deleted the Lasagna and risotto polo from the menu and not reflected on the web site. So was disappointed to find that out after arrived. My 2 favorites. Hope they bring back
Consistently good. I've never been disappointed when having dinner here.
Wonderful calamari appetizer.
We had the Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts appetizers. Both were delicious. The bread they served on the side (with olive oil and grated Parmesan) was also delicious. I had the risotto of the day, which was shrimp, crab meat, and spinach. That was terrific. The leftovers were pretty good the next day too!
Food was excellent. There was a slight mix up with our checks, but we were a party of 6 splitting the bill.
The veal was fantastic. The roasted cauliflower is a favorite of my wife's.
Delicious, from the Pear salad to bone in porkchop. Will return.
Best toasted ravioli in town - enjoyed them thoroughly.
Love Tavolo! So many great dishes and very generous portions!
We arrived for our reservation and were immediately seated. They had a beef tenderloin spedini for a special which was great everyone else loved there pasta and the Peroni beer was great although the didnt have the dark which I prefer and I wohld love it if they started selling a port for after dinner. Overall a great time gor me and the family.
My husband and I had dinner at Tavolo V just before a concert at the Pageant. We first sat at a table with a cold draft, and the host moved us immediately. Our waiter was wonderful and offered opinions that led to perfect meals for both of us. Great evening.
Went with a friend. We each had an eggplant appetizer that was ample and delicious, split the beet salad, excellent and I finished with coffee. Chainti was acceptable. Clayton, our server, and the whole service team were helpful in getting us out in time for our play at Edison.
Veal and pizza were outstanding and the chicken very good.
The food was very tasty and for that I would recommend Tavolo to a friend. The service however was not as good. They definitely were having trouble with seating people and dealing with a very large party. This seemed to be affecting the efficiency of the wait staff. Several times we had to proactively ask for some attention to our table and meal.
the food was average at best, and after asking the waiter to do something about our 2 cups of cold coffee, proceeded to give us a lecture on the fresh standards of the place, therefore no microwave(!) no offer to remove from bill or heat up on stove
Service was reasonably fast. Noise level was reasonable so we could talk. Toasted ravioli was crisp, hot, and tasty. Chunky marinara sauce was good. Portions were generous. Chicken scallopine was delicious, more than I could eat, definitely not a low calorie entree. Wine prices also reasonable. Bread was good too.
We usually go for our favorites: Lasagna, Babbo's pizza, Casesar salad or the chicken alfredo type dish. However on Friday 3 of us had the fish special (DEEE licious) and my husband had the chicken and grilled vegetables (heart special). All of the dinners were great. My husband and I split a Caesar and our friends each had their own salad (can't remember which). We had plenty of bread and were kept supplied with cold water as well as refills of iced tea for our friends. Thank you
It was a snowy day, so the restaurant was only about a third full. The food was excellent. It is also helpful that Tavolo V in the Loop has its own parking.
Great food! The server, both visits, was outstanding. I will be going back.
Would have been nice to have been informed prior to driving to your location yesterday that you had closed for the night.
Reservation was for 6pm. At 4:30 restaurant called to confirm. It was snowing that day, but not enough to make roads hazardous. At 5:58 we parked and the phone rang again. It was the restaurant calling, but I did not pick up since we were already walking in. At this point we were told that the owner called and said to close for the evening. This is absolute BS! Will never consider going there again and as someone who spends 15 to 20k on dining out annually I will make sure to tell everyone about this experience!
Probably one of the best dining experiences in the Saint Louis area. The food was delicious and was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I can’t wait to return. The service was 10/10.
My wife and I and a close friend very much enjoyed diner at Tavolo's recently. As usual the food was great and the service was even greater. Our only issue was the noise level. It was loud and made hearing the person across the table difficult. I don't know what solution might help that issue, but if there is one, do it!
Great food and service!!
Great food and awesome Italian spot in the loop. Their pizza and bolognese were terrific
Dinner and drinks before a show. Food was delicious and service from Patrick was excellent!
The service was not great and our food took forever!!!
We had the lasagna and the linguini and both were too spicy. Probably won’t be back.
Always great food and great service!
Excellent service and food. Every time I have been here service is outstanding.
Excellent choices on the menu, tables well set, service attentive and knowledgeable.- Be sure to order the Mussels appetizer, which big enough for sharing. Delicious tomato sauce and some of the fattest, plumpest mussels we seen in a while. The risotto was fantastic! Fresh bread straight out of the oven. Well crafted drinks and a pleasant atmosphere. Two local police were eating at the next table. A sure sign of a great place to eat.
Very nice consistent restaurant, varied menu, wonderful service from Melody, bread was really good. It is a great "go to" restaurant where you know you will have good service and food.
Another enjoyable evening at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. Both the chicken risotto (regular favorite) and the salmon special were wonderful choices for us. Splitting a salad was no problem and refills on the tasty bread was appreciated. Patrick's service was appropriate without being overwhelming. Will come back again and again.
It was awesome. Parking was meh but everything was top notch and my martini was awesome too.
Wanted a solid dinner before a show at the Pagent and we were not disppointed. The Cauliflower and Buffalo Chicken T-Ravs were very good. The House salad was adequate, nothing special. The Bransino and the Salmon were superb. Would recommend both highly. Server was great as was teh rest of the team. Overall a fine evening celebrating a birthday!
Enjoyed our dinner. The service was great and the food was even better, as were our drinks!
Food is consistently great as is the service and value.
Their salads are always good and a value. A number of us had the Caesar and all agreed one ( $6 ) is big enough to share.
The mains are also big enough to share. The Lasagna is a huge portion and always chock full of meat and has a flavorful red sauce.
Likewise 2 of us split the Sugo and there were 2 pieces leftover. It too had plenty meat, a crispy thin crust with good cheese and sauce.
One person had a seafood & pasta soup and he thought very good.
As always server attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly
