Tavolo V Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed Tavolo V. I had a well prepared chicken scallopini with a faux gnocchi prepared from cheese (food for Keto) and my partner had the Funghi which was enjoyed with only the comment that it could have been sauced a wee bit more. It is a lively but somewhat noisy place but it is what you’d expect. Prices are reasonable for the value delivered.
We stopped for supper before driving east to see the St. Louis Symphony at Powell Hall. The food was excellent, the portions were fine, and the service (Roosevelt) was superb. Our only issue was the noise level, which was too loud for the three of us to hear each other well across the table. Acoustical tile on the ceiling would make a huge improvement. All told, however, the food, the location, and the service are perfect for a stop on the way to the Symphony.
I love the food at Tavolo V and have always had great service there. Clayton, in particular, is so helpful and pleasant. I love the fact that if it isn't crowded, the noise level allows good conversation at each table; the adjacent parking lot for patrons is a huge plus. But most of all, I appreciate the delicious food and the neighborhood feel of the restaurant, even though I have to drive to that neighborhood. It is my go-to place for a terrific lunch or dinner. Casual and affordable Italian in Delmar Loop. The venue is superb, big open space. The service is excellent: knowledgeable and friendly. Pizza crust is thin and crispy, the way we like it, although made in a gas oven. Not the best Italian food in town but good enough for the moderate price.
The quality of this Italian restaurant was not the best but was very good for the moderate price. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and very good. The scaloppini was more flavorful than the pizza I had. The pizza crust was thin and crispy, the way I like it, even though it was made in a gas oven. A big plus is the private parking lot just east of the restaurant on this busy street (Delmar). We will go back again.
We arrived here about 6:00 with our young granddaughters for a "Date" after a performance at COCA. We are not from St. Louis so we came on a recommendation from our son. The price and location were right, and we figured you can't go wrong with Italian! While not really geared for children we were able to find kid-friendly foods. Pasta was good, pizza was very good, service was satisfactory and food was prepared quickly.
The food was authentic Italian - homemade pasta just like Italy and the best tiramisu around! Nice evening and with the doors open to the street made for a romantic evening - the pizza looked great too but we both had to get the seafood pasta dishes. So very good!
I ordered the trout over ravioli. There was not enough flavor in the trout and the ravioli were virtually tasteless, starchy and added nothing to the dish. Cauliflower appetizer was great as was the malbec.
Tiramisu was okay, not great. But if left to my own choice I would never have ordered it.
The waiter kept disappearing to the point of having to send someone to fetch him twice!
Still willing to keep going and trying something else.
