Attentive service and good food add up to us being regulars!
This place has great food but the staff doesn’t seem to care either way if you are there. Our waiter was very nice, but from the guy who brought the food, to when we walked in, to when we left...they could care less. I ordered Salmon cooked though and it was raw. When I asked the person who brought it out to have it cook through, he was clearly unhappy and said nothing. Not one word picking it up (does a sneer count) to when he put it back down. I had noted it was my friends Birthday on the Open Table and when we were there...no offer for a dessert or even a Happy Birthday. This place needs to figure out what it wants to be. The lights are too bright for a romantic dinner, but the prices are steep for a quick bite, and the bar is not a friendly place to grab a bite. They had no after dinner cognacs or liqueurs except Sam UCLA and lemoncello. Not worth the 100.00 bill...and definitely they did not care.
Amazing experience.. thank you Chico..
Yummy food and our server, Cassie, was awesome!!!!! Love sitting outside!
Second time to Tavolo V when visiting St. Louis. Food was delicious. Service was a bit quirky but in a good way. The gnocchi with my chicken were as light as air. Flavors and textures were quite good. Definitely would return if I was again in the area at dinner time. VERY convenient if attending a concert at the venues on the other side of Delmar Ave.
The food was very good. The server was one of the best I've done business with. If you told me that he was the owner, I wouldn't be surprised because of how focused he was on making a good impression and exceeding expectations.
The restaurant has a cool, casual vibe. This was my fist meal here; my wife & I were both impressed with the food and the dining experience.
First time here. Food was very good and service was superb. Pizzas are large enough to share.
Something was way off tonight. Dining room was packed but the restaurant only had 4 servers working. Service was terrible and the food was well below expectations. We ordered our usuals, so we are well aware of what they taste like, but they tasted very different tonight. I don’t know if they have new kitchen staff but every dish was bad. We will not return. Tavolo ruined our dinner tonight and it was a complete waste of money.
Tavolo was understaffed and swamped on a night when the night was especially busy in the loop
Great food and great service! One of the people in our party was vegan and they made a special veggie dish to satisfy her very specific tastes.
Dear friend visited from NYC.
Every time we’ve been there the service has been good, and the food is always great.
This restaurant had always served fresh and delicious food every single time. Service is also excellent.
Attentive service and unbelievable food. The blend of flavors in each dish worked perfectly.
Went before a show with 2 other couples. Place was slammed and full- we were running late due to Uber but hostess called us to ask if we were coming and held our table. We had apps, pizzas, entress, and couple bottels of wine and everyone in our party enjoyed it all. Our waiter Matthew M was very friendly and accomodating. We eat at some of the other Del Pietro places and they are all very good Italian spots.
Menus and offerings similar, consistent, high quality, with good pricing. Bistro atmosphere generally pretty noisy. Waiters are apparently selected for ability to serve the customer- we always have courteous and attentive wait-staff at all their restaurants.
As they say in Italy- buen cibo e amicos (good food and friends).
My date and I had been to Tavolo V separately. This was our first time together. We opted to sit outside because the weather was nice, and there's some great people watching on Delmar. Our server, Patrick was prompt and gave us some space to enjoy our drinks before ordering dinner. I had the Risotto Pollo, which was delicious! My date had the lasagna, which was huge with many layers. We both took at least half of our dinners home. But we did save room for dessert, enjoying the blueberry lemon cake. It was a tart palate cleanser that was the perfect ending to a heavy dinner. We loved our experience and will be going back!
Food was very good and priced very competitively. However, service was not great. We ordered a bottle of wine for the table and there was not enough for everyone. Instead of suggesting we purchase another bottle or a different drink for the person who did not get any, the server took away the persons wine glass and just left. It was very odd. Eventually we just went up to him directly and ordered a beer for the person who was left out. We did not get checked on once the food was served. And when it came time for dessert nothing was offered for the birthday girl. I said it was a birthday on the reservation and reminded them when we got there. Just an odd service experience. Food was very, very good though- and the restaurant itself was very comfortable and well laid out.
Excellent food in casual atmosphere. Great location and parking.
Great food! Huge portions and reasonably priced. Sat outside on the patio and had a lovely meal with great service.
Never had a bad meal here! The roasted cauliflower is a must! Their fish option is always outstanding.
Great service and food. Will definitely return. Very nice patio seating. Great for special occasion .
We stopped in here for two reasons: 1. We have a Sugo in Edwardsville, and this is a sister restaurant so we figured the meal and value would be about the same. 2. It is like right across the street from where we were going to a concert at 6:30.
So, the food was fine; three out of the four of us ordered a special and the fourth went for her usual, the seafood pasta.
All went well. It is very nice to have this option, as we are not big fans of the Pi Pizza franchise [which is also very close and convenient to the concert venues].
The service was great, and the food was better. All very fresh ingredients, creative menu and great tasting food. One of our favorite spots.
Fra Diavolo and salmon special were both quite good as well as the tomato with soft cheese salad. It was noisier than I would like. Probably would have been better outdoors, but weather was not cooperating with that.
We initially chose this restaurant due to OpenTable. It was my wife's birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal. My daughter said it was the best dish she had ever had. We all enjoyed our selections and the service was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner out at Tavolo before going to the Muny. A variety of wines and an array of entrees to choose from. We did not have the pizza but just might have to try it next time. The bread was fresh and too good to resist! Service was prompt & our waitress was friendly & knowledgeable. Great parking too! Overall a very good experience. We will be back.
Very good food and relaxed atmosphere. Parking in lot next to restaurant very convenient.
The fish special (I can't remember the name) was excellent! So was the eggplant appetizer.
Food was really great! Our server was a little scatter-brained but it didn't really detract from our experience - overall, the service was way quicker than we thought it was going to be. We were quite pleased with our experience at Tavolo V.
We arrived close to reservation time and was quickly seated. There were several diners there, note extremely busy. However, there was a delay in serving us. Eventually, our server came and provided good service. The food was well prepared.
Our group of six included two visitors from Houston. The round table was perfect for conversation. And the service delivered by Roosevelt was superb, as usual. It was a very successful gathering.
Went here for a surprise birthday dinner I planned for a friend and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our group had a mix of vegetarian eaters and non so it was a great option. Definitely recommend the Mario pizza!
Please make sure all the waiters tell what the Specials are. Our waiter never told us but we listen to the waiter at other tables and she said them without anyone asking.
This is always a great place before a Pageant show or the Muny. Great food and drinks.
Everything was wonderful!
Good food in our neighborhood. Noise level is not conducive to conversation at dinner time. We indicated that this visit was a special occasion on reservation but staff did not acknowledge it. Was disappointed at that. Would go back during non busy times.
Service slow, ran out of pizza cheese...really
Food as always was so good.
We were disappointed in the service, especially as the restaurant had ample open seating. The waiter passed me over when ordering drinks. For dinner, I ordered the Funghi pasta and thought the pasta was a bit overcooked. I would not be interested in making the effort to go back any time soon.
Delicious meal at reasonable price. Recommended!
