Taverna Opa - Delray Beach
Very good food. Great service. Not the restaurants fault but the Avenue was very busy and it was as if there was no pandemic.
Excellent Service. Accommodating and good food. Friendly ambiance. Overall enjoyable experience. Every time.
Very authentic Greek cuisine. Had a nice glass of retsina. The lamb was very tasty. Loved our meals. Very laidback atmosphere. Thanks
Restaurant was understaffed. Drinks were delayed & not as ordered. Our server was great & did his best to correct mistakes.
We love Opa & dine there often, but we are concerned about their future! Need to add better trained bartenders & servers!
We have eaten here 4-5 times and loved it...
Waitress was horrible to say the least. Took our orders and brought me an appetizer instead of the entree. 2 scallop specials we ordered we were told ran out when she served the food! Ordered something else and waited 40 minutes. My husband had had it and told her we were leaving …and we weren’t paying for the non delivered food.
Ended up next door with a delicious pizza!
Took over an hour to have cold gyro sandwiches. The meat was pre processed and cut. Not what we expected. The place wasn’t half full, yet it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to be served.
We sat outside, which is great people watching.
Really enjoyed our lunch. The homemade hummus for the table was the best I have ever had. Large portions and amazing flavor. I would recommend sharing if not overly hungry.
Absolutely delicious food, great outdoor dining and all windows/ doors were open.Hummus is AMAZING! Freshly fond at the table. Everything is delicious
This is my family’s FAVORITE place to eat. You cannot beat the FABULOUS HAPPY HOUR...and it’s probably the BEST in TOWN.
Great FOOD and Great SERVICE too!
This is a very fun restaurant, but be warned on Friday night it gets very rowdy. The music was blaring so loud if you sat inside you could barely think let alone hear each other. They have a dancer as well, people around us were taking shots. I don’t want to sound to critical, but if you are just trying to have a dinner with your wife/husband, try somewhere a little more low key. If you have a big group and are looking to get rowdy, then this is the place for you.
Food was tasty!! We had gyro wraps and they were good size. Lamb tacos top notch. Wife loved stuffed grape leaves. Will be going back.
We met some friend for lunch and had a wonderful time. Our waiter, V, was fantastic. V is Greek and shared much about his culture, food and ingredients.
The outdoor dining experience on Atlantic Avenue works!
Taverna Opa delivers. It is a fun setting, with great food and friendly service.. All the Greek specialties..
We used to love this Greek taverna, but now it's way too crowded. We'd come for the ½ price appetizers before 7pm and make a meal of them. But they no longer offer the deal. I had a roasted lamb that was tasteless, but very salty. My husband had overpriced moussaka that any Greek coffee shop makes better. Last time we go there.
Let me start by saying that the waiter was very friendly and provided excellent service. However, the food was below average. I had the chicken soup which had too much of a lemon taste to it and for my entree I had the salmon which once again was heavy on the lemon flavor, which gave the dish too much of an acid taste to it. The belly dancer doesn’t know how to belly dance, she’s more of a salsa dancer than a belly dancer and she barely interacts with the people dining there, making the experience bland.
Everything was great , except the rain.
Laius but fun Greek dancer
Delicious food and the service was over the top.Everything was great.
Wonderful food and service. Very attentive wait staff.
Awesome! Can’t wait to go back 🤩
Lovely outdoor venue. Great menu
Amazing Food! Great Service and Great Music! Very pleased and happy to return.
I prefer vegetarian options. This restaurant is excellent for diners with my preferences l! Delicious down to the table side hummus!
Excelent food, wine selection and unsurpassed service, loved it.
Wonderful food, great service. Music a little too loud, was hard to have a conversation. Overall a definite thumbs up.
Great food and service !
I have a plant dominant diet. This restaurant has many options for people like me. Great food. Nice location and service. I’ll be back.
We used to be regulars of Atlantic Ave restaurants when we lived in the area. At the end of last year we moved an hour north to be closer to our grand baby. Since the pandemic started we weren’t traveling. We were visiting family and decided to stay in the Delray area.
We’ve eaten at Taverna Opa in the past and had no complaints about the food. Well, the food was outstanding, but more importantly, our server, Themis (not sure of spelling) was the Best, most attentive sweet person who ever served us. He deserves a raise and accolades for taking such good care of us! When we come back we will ask for his table only!
Amazing we will be back!!
First timer. Everything was great except our server was being pulled in many directions. He didn’t offer a second round. Walked by many times w/o checking in. Etc. didn’t see that happening with other servers. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll go back. I think it was too many people pulling him in too many directions
It was a perfect date night with my husband. We were seated outside which gave us the opportunity to people watch. The food was excellent and generally we don't eat dessert, but broke down and had the cheesecake and so glad that we did. It is a must have! Our server Tracy was wonderful.
Great food! Great service!
Service was good but slow.
My overall dining experience was great, the check in was very fast and the service was excellent. The Branzino and long pork chop were delicious, well seasoned and very tasty. We enjoyed the Greek merlot that was recommended. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was good, the music was at a level that made conversation easy, no shouting required.
My one concern was that none of the staff were wearing mouth guards or using gloves during a COVID-19 pandemic. It was a bit unnerving. On the plus side all of the tables were well spaced out so that guests are not too close to each other. Taverna Opa was not over booked, it was a fun evening.
Calamari was excellent & my Greek salad was very tasty. Getting refills took a while. The biggest complaint I have is the lack of staff wearing masks during the pandemic.
Great food and drinks. Loved eating outside
Food was great
Great food. Great service. Lovely area. Highly recommended.
Really lovely food, but geez...what's with the extremely loud music? We couldn't even hear the waiter. This is a nice restaurant that is ruined by management preferring to run a noisy bar, complete with a bartender standing on the bar to deliver a shot to a young drunk. Shameful.
