Taverna - Maui

Brunch was great. Open table offered us reservations through 2pm but the kitchen closes at 1. We were fine because we were there at 12:30 but I can see this causing unnecessary problems with visitors especially these days

We enjoyed our late dinner at Taverna. There was a lot of energy and the food was wonderful. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

The salmon was melting delicious
The baguette was fresh and great for dipping
The gelato complimented the tiramisu

Great dinner during our vacation on Maui. The carbonara was the highlight. Kids and adults in our party thoroughly enjoyed the meal, service, and ambiance. Hope to return in the near future.

The restaurant location is pretty far from our hotel but only a $10 cab ride. The service we got was outstanding! The lady waiter we had was excellent and she was quite busy. The menu is quite limited and the food was fair. It was recommended by a ‘foody’ friend, so maybe this was an anomaly?

Great food and good experience overall, just about out of this world; especially compared to the other restaurants in the area. I’ll certainly be back! It’s a go-to for a great cocktail or meal in a relaxed and airy atmosphere.

Dinner during our honeymoon. We sat at the bar and had a spectacular meal with excellent service. Would 100% recommend!

Love this place! Food is amazing

We celebrated our honeymoon and birthday here. Beautiful green scenery of the golf course and trees. Not an ocean view but the nature view of the rolling hills is incredible. The service was great, the food was amazing. No offer for birthday dessert or even appetizer bread (must pay for those). It’s premium food at a premium price but it’s worth going to for a special occasion as we did, and we loved it nonetheless!

Not sure why this place has such great reviews. The Italian food is at best mediocre. We had some good cocktails but that’s the only thing we had that was decent. Our server was nice but we had an 8:30 reservation and by 9/9:15 they were packing up the restaurant and making a ton of noise so it wasn’t pleasant to sit there and eat our meal. Will not go back and would not recommend.

Maui Vacation. FABULOUS

Everything we ordered was delicious! The open air atmosphere was so nice after a day in the sun. Make sure to visit the labyrinth located a short drive down the street and a little bit of a walk. Totally worth it.

The food & view of the golf course were great. Our server was a little out of it and forgot our water & to place one of the four of our orders. She was very nice but a little absent minded.

This is a trendy Italian restaurant with a nice menu and reasonable pricing. On Wednesday's they have a wine list featuring 1/2 price bottles of wine which makes them at store retail price rather than restaurant uptick pricing. The list is nicely balance from $30 to over $100 at 1/2 price. The restaurant is noisy and not a place to go to if you want to have a nice conversation, great for parties and groups that don't care about conversation. Service is average, in our case the waitress brought the desert menu while we were still finishing dinner and asked what we wanted. They did make you feel rushed and this was with numerous empty tables around us, so it wasn't a need to get us out the door. It is a place that caters to the tourist crowd more than a locals crowd and is reflected in the food, service and pricing. It is also a place that a reservation is highly recommended since between 6 and 7:30 it is jammed.

Too noisy for our tastes and the lighting was much brighter than we remembered from past visits.

We’ve been coming to Maui over 20 years now and this meal easily could have been our best ever! Just wonderful, with impeccable service. We will return!

Kudos to the kitchen, except for the seafood salad. The presentation is boring. With the seafood sitting on an oily dressing with fennel. Not a good visual otherwise tasty. Bread and soup were delicious as well as my husband's linguine vongole. Extremely noisy and not relaxing, although with that dynamite view before sundown you would think it would be relaxing. Staff and general manager(?) seem new and inexperienced - upselling (Grrrr!) , with the general manager standing near our table when I sent the soup back because of the wrong-size portion and another table sent their dish back to the kitchen. The manager did not approach either table for details or go to the kitchen. Would not return because of the noise, wait staff will improve.

The entire staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu, beverage pairings and delivered on a very memorable evening. Our server, Cody, made our anniversary celebration very special and we are very grateful.

The butterleaf salad with roasted beets were enhanced by a well balanced dressing. Save room for the truffle gnocchi either as a meal or heartier appetizer to share. For entrees, the branzino was perfectly executed and although described as one of the lighter entrees it was a generous amount. The braised short ribs were served with a silky parsnip purée. We were also able to have a tasted of the duck confit pappardelle with an earthy mushroom sauce, and for that dish alone, we are hoping to secure another dinner reservation in the next day or so, and to try the pizzas. The lasagna sells out quickly.

Alex was an amazing server! The food was excellent and we had a lovely time. Would highly recommend.

The location is convenient for guests staying at the Montage or nearby Ritz Carlton. The view of the golf driving range is pretty, and in better weather, it would be fun to sit at the outside fire pits.

Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our dinner. Two of our family members are allergic to gluten, so they both ordered the gluten-free pasta. The pasta arrived not cooked at all for some pieces, and then mushy for others. Both of them ate a few bites, and gave up, saying that their food was really not palatable. The night was rainy and cold, and we were seated next to huge open doors, so we were already miserable from the chilly breezes.
