Tavern is the third restaurant from the chef and sommelier team of Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, who also own Lucques restaurant and AOC winebar. This is their West Los Angeles outpost, which serves as a local gathering spot for the Brentwood crowd. Chicly designed by Jeffrey Alan Marks, Tavern encompasses three separate, yet connected spaces: a glass roofed atrium dining room, a large blue walled bar and a café space called the Larder that features casual dining, bakery, retail and prepared foods to go. The restaurant serves Suzanne Goin’s signature California/Mediterranean cuisine with just a touch of a classic American influence.

The only real problem was the noise. We had a corner and at times, couldn't hear. Just the way it is and I'm not upset.

Interesting experience - first time at Tavern......have been a loyal follower of "the ladies" - Suzanne & Caroline since they started!!! So the waiter spilled my 1/2 glass of wine - yep he cleaned it
up BUT never replaced it.......even with a "half" glass of wine........ First time I've ever experienced that....
Merci!

A first class meal all around. We asked for a corner banquet in the main room and it was perfect.
It was a Monday night so it was pleasantly quiet but lively. The food is terrific, the staff knows their stuff...had a great time. The front is great for breakfast ...coffee, pastry, etc...

Went for lunch. It was the second time I was there. I was unimpressed with my first visit a long time ago, but thought I'd give it another shot. Tavern is a beautiful restaurant in search of menu. I had fish Taco's - sort of a desperation choice since there wasn't an appealing salad option. The fish is fried. The tacos were less inspired and tasty than the average food truck. It's hard to believe that this place is the work of a renown chef.

The service was respectfully unhurried, which we appreciated.

This is a beautiful place BUT I was not happy with the food or the prices! I ordered a proseco and was shocked to see I was billed $15! for it, while most place charge around $9. A heads up would have been nice. We ordered the special black bean soup which was so spicy hot that we had to ask for some mascarpone to tone it down--which by the way, made it scrumptious. We then order the "Gem Salad" as our entrée. It was so light on the crab (3 small pieces) that we left hungry. And that salad came with a $18 price tag! In sum, the meal was overpriced and underwhelming, but it is so beautiful I will be returning to try to make some better choices. I also know now not to order a drink there without asking the price first. Who knew!

The ambiance and service was incredibly good. Unfortunately the food did not match that experience. Food was salty and unappealing. Manager was attentive but nothing like having a bad meal at a nice restaurant

The dining room is beautiful and my sister, visiting from out of town, and I were given probably the best table in the room (a corner, very private, very comfortable). The service was excellent. However, the food was mediocre. I'd return for coffee, but not for a meal.

Tavern is a nice place but it needs to seriously up its game to continue to compete with the increasingly good options in Brentwood.

We had a great time at Tavern and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. We loved the crispy chicken and lamb meatballs. The happy hour white wine was fresh and light, perfect with every dish. The front desk was helpful and accommodating; the only negative experience relates to our server who appeared unfriendly and annoyed to be serving us.

Always a pleasure to dine here. I can make a meal out of their delicious bread and butter! I prefer the happy hour for it's value, but the main atrium is very pretty.

Went for breakfast on a weekday. Easy parking in the lot in the back, great breakfast menu, and beautiful covered patio which was bright and felt like we were outside. I will definitely go back for dinner soon.

I always love coming to the Tavern. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere, whether or not you are in the atrium or the bar area is very appealing and comfortable and it's never too noisy. One of my favorite spots to meet people for lunch or dinner.

Sorry to give this report. Food was very mediocre. Tavern has always been a favorite. Turkey burger was tasteless and fries were limp. Not the usual Suzanne Goin brilliance!

I was very disappointed with the food. We have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years. I tried both lunch and dinner recently. The menu is very limited now and the food is ordinary. This was always our "go to" spot with friends and family. So sorry this has changed. (But I still love the bread!!)

We won’t be returning. The food was at one time great, now it’s fair at best. The portions are ridiculously small. There are too many great restaurants out there to settle for bad food. The room is gorgeous, it’s a shame.
