Great breakfast venue, space to sit in comfort and have a business conversation
The pastrami sandwich was great, a bit greasy but very filling - I took half home for the next day.
This is my "go to" restaurant when I want to have a good meal and service. The atrium room is beautiful and the bar is cozy. Food always good. Dessert excellent. A place for business and meeting friends. Lunch is casual and friendly.
Lovely seating in the atrium area. Delicious food, service a bit slow at times. Asked for some extra toast with brunch when my meal was delivered, took a long tome to finally receive the second batch. Also delays in paying after the meal.
Been before, so well worth a visit.
Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants for meeting with friends or having casual business meetings. The food is always great and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion.
Done LA menu was great! (As everything we’ve had here has been)
Staff was friendly and service was impeccable! Can't wait to go back!
Great food but the service was not very good. It was a busy Sunday brunch crowd and our waitress was not very attentive.
Food was excellent.
Wait staff was terrible. Very bad attitude and poor service
We had a great brunch in terms of quality of food and ambiance. The only issue was that it took 45 minutes for our food to come out but for some reason, people who came after us were getting their food left and right. Very strange!
Good food and service. Enjoyed our evening. Will be back again.
Tavern is a great restaurant. The food, menu, food service, ambiance are all top notch.
Tavern never disappoints. Good food great service. Small but very diverse menu and great cocktails, what else would one want?
My friend & I shared 2 breakfast dishes and they where so good! Great service and great room to sit.
Very good service and food. A quiet noise level so able to have relaxing conversation.
Have eaten here before and recommend it. Somewhat pricey.
I took a date here and sat in the back room. There's carpet there, which helped mute the noise level. We sat pretty close to our neighbors, but everyone was so nice, it didn't matter. The food was cooked well and they allowed me to get my burger with a lettuce wrap instead of the bun and the options for sides allowed for many styles of eating. I've been here for drinks and that's fun, too. Lots of seating in the bar area!
we had a lovely birthday dinner, everyone loved their food
Very good, but too much salt almost sunk my meal. Even the salted caramel ice cream was too salty.
Lovey ambiance for a date night. Food was far overpriced. If the cost was cut in half, I’d give it 5 stars, but when you have prices so high it puts a certain expectation on what your being served. Good service though.
Arrogance and attitude are what you get in this restaurant.
Très bel endroit qui ne paye pas de mine en arrivant, excellent service
Always beautiful and delicious
A wonderful experience for Christmas Eve dinner. Loved the ambiance, the service, and the food was delicious, all 7 courses of fish. Plus, the Lemon Meringue with the lemon sorbetto was the perfect ending!
Was great for Christmas Day brunch
Nice. Yummy. Delish food. Excellent people on staff. Real cooking. Fries could have been more crisps and hot. Loved the Rob Roy. Overall really good.
Food was great but service ruined the whole experience
The hostess desk didn’t seem very professional. When we asked to be reseated, they took quite a while to get it together. The dining room is looking pretty tired. Food was quite good and service got better. Some staff seems to need training.
Good ambience, however, service and food were only mediocre. Sat in a booth in the bar area (tent preferred ) - it was like being in a noisy ice box - 65 inside and 75 outside - made no sense. Waitress stopped by after 10 minutes to say hello and take drink order. Food took a long time - kitchen was backed up by a large party according to her.... Order forgot salad and added fries... Turkey Burger was rather bland. Parking in the area is a nightmare - if you can get a space in the mini-mall lot in front or back they validate.
Waited over 15 min for someone to come to the table. Service was slow and missed an order for one of our girls. Didn’t feel like the visit was worth it.
Love the room. Pancakes were burned on one side. Good food otherwise.
I ordered a cocktail as I immediately had a horrible reaction to it. My fave started itching and my nose started running. I asked for a glass of wine instead not knowing what ingredient was causing the problem. I was charge the 15 for the drink and another 18 for the wine. I think it’s just cheap of the restaurant not to come the Drink
We made reservations for six people at 11:30 am for a weekday lunch. When we arrived we informed the manager (??) that we would only be a party of five. In the back dining room at that early hour there were literally two other tables of two people, the rest of the space was empty. Yet five of us were shoe horned into a space meant for four and the wait staff and other service people struggled around us the entire meal, often bumping into the back of our chairs to get to some other spot. Listen, the food is still delish, the scene is still entertaining, but the service staff (though super polite) was slow and awkward the entire meal. I’ll still come by, because I love this spot. It just seemed an unfortunate off day.
Entrées took an hour to arrive. The entire restaurant was overwhelmed by a “buy out”
When the food finally came, it was hard to enjoy
Made a reservation several days in advance and asked for a specific section in the main dining room. When we got there, they sat us in the bar area due to a private party. The hostess aced surprised that we were not informed ahead of time of the private party. Had out of town guests, and we were disappointed to be in the bar.
Great Food, Great vibe in the atrium
Visited Tavern after reading reviews from a few websites. I tried the Duck Confit and it was delicious. The skin was crispy, the risotto was creamy and hot, and the rum and coke completed my meal. We arrived early, before they started serving, so we took advantage of the happy hour and sat at the bar for a few drinks. The bar tender was friendly and offered great suggestions. This was my first visit to California and if I get to visit again, I'll definitely visit again.
To be honest I was quite disappointed. It might have been the combination of large parties on a Saturday for lunch, but it was very noise and the service was not terribly good. The food was good once we got it and I love the decor, but the noise level made it hard to have a conversation and the price was very high for food that was about a B level not an A level for this foodie.
All in all, it's not a first choice in my book, but I'll give it another go sometime during the week to see if it's better then.
We have been to Tavern many times and have always had great service and food and so Tavern is a go-to of ours for family events and special occasions. However this past weekend there seemed to be a real problem with the kitchen, we waited large periods between ordering and receiving our food, most of the food came out but some people were left waiting for their mains. A children's pasta was sent out so full of the cooking liquid that it more resembled soup with pasta than a pasta dish, the staff were very gracious and remade it very quickly, however it never should have been sent out like that in the first place. At the end of our meal a busboy tried to clear away half full drinks while leaving empty dishes and we were left waiting trying to pay our cheque.
All in all, I still love Tavern and will go back, but I hope that the kitchen and staff issues are fixed before we do.
The place was half empty and they put a group directly to each side of us which was annoying and loud. Otherwise it was great.
Disappointed in the service. Short ribs were dry.
