TAPS Fish House & Brewery- Irvine Marketplace
Everything was amazing from start to finish. Every food choice we made with the help of our amazing waiter was excellent. We’ll definitely be going back.
We had an excellent time with our customers. Food was fantastic - halibut was perfectly prepared (came highly recommended) and the salmon over grilled brussel sprouts and fingerling potatoes was excellent as well. Would highly recommend.
I'm wondering if there was a change in management since there is a new menu. We were coming here for the previous menu which was much better! Our waiter was inexperienced. My husband ordered a 12 oz glass of wine. Her brought 6 oz. When he brought the other 6 oz, he neglected to refill the glass! I had to ask for bread which came after the appetizer. There was a huge lag between the appetizer and entrees.
The wild black bass was a tiny portion. The fish entrees are way overpriced for the food and service. Prices more inline with French cuisine. The complimentary dessert was nice as we were celebration our anniversary.
Great place for breakfast!!
Very good food. Great service. Very nice setting. Great for lunch.
Has gone down hill. Halibut was overcooked and dry. The rest was not memorable. Likely will delete this from our list of places to regularly visit.
Food and ambience was good, but it took nearly 3 hours from the time we walked in to getting the check. Food came VERY slowly. Our server was generally good/friendly, but only apologized for the delayed drinks delivery - no recognition of the extended food waiting time.
I wouldn’t usually complain, except that we have noticed this a number of times since several management changes have occurred in recent months. Seems as if the kitchen is often “backed up” every though the restaurant doesn’t seem busy.
Hope TAPS solves this soon, or else we won’t return for what is usually good food and friendly service.
Wonderful service. A little loud but it was peak lunch time. Good food. Always great to share a meal with coworkers or friends or family. Thank you!
Delicious food and excellent service. Folks were getting a head start on their holiday gatherings, which contributed to the noise level and tight quarters -- the latter requiring extra careful steps while navigating from the buffet to the table with a full plate. Looking forward to returning!
I love TAPS Fish House & Brewery-Irvine Marketplace, servers are so friendly.
Food is great and service is awesome. Awesome family or friends gathering place.
Food and service were really good. We just like going to Taps! It’s becoming one of our favorite places to go.
Great service. The wait staff were attentive and got everything right.
Celebrating my birthday! Service was good; Nice wine and halibut. The waitress said it used to say wild-caught on the menu, but now it doesn't. She did say it was wild caught. Nice complimentary dessert.
It was our first time to TAPS - not disclosed in the reservation- but the server took the initiative to ask. He was very informative when asked menu item question on the fish and an appropriate sauce for it, he was attentive and gifted us a baked chocolate suffle for dessert since it was our first time. We had originally come for what we thought was industry night(later finding out some locations do and do not- this location does not - Incase you too are looking) but we decided to stay and give it a try. We were pleased with the beet salad, clam chowder and main entree of fish, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Calamari would not be recommended. The best part was the server, food runner and hostess! They were all genuinely wonderful! Thank you !
Customer service was EXCELLENT! He guided us through our menus and came over often to assist us in completing our night out. Even gave us a complimentary dessert and paid attention to our special notes. The door staff and lobby staff were also great in assisting us. The food was delicious and portion size was big. It was a perfect night out.
Gretchen provided excellent service! Our food was prepared well and was very tasteful. We’ll definitely go back again.
Service was outstanding, and the food was to die for!
What made this experience so good was our server. Joel did an outstanding job with great recommendations.
The brunch is amazing!!! Been several times now and never disappointed! Love it!
Terrible service. We waited almost two hours for our entrees. We had a reservation. They seated us underneath an enormous TV mounted to a wall in the middle of a room. The lights we blinding and also very hot. We we’re sweating while we waited for almost two hours for our entrees to be served. I mentioned we had made a reservation. This was a special occasion. When we were being seated there were several beautiful large leather booths that were vacant. I asked if we could be seated there and she said “no” they were reserved. I then asked the hostess how I would go about requesting a booth for the next time. She said it was not possible to request and that they had no way of fulfilling requests, even though she just said those booths were reserved by request. What a disappointment and embarrassing since I made the reservation and had spoken highly of the restaurant since we have dined at TAPS Brea. Will never go again.
Service was great!!
Really enjoyed the happy hour prices. Extremely good value.
Food (New England clam chowder and lobster roll) was very good. Service was good as well. We enjoyed sitting in our big booth. Looking forward to returning and trying some of the other menu items.
Every year 6~10 times
We celebrate Bdays with family.
This location has been changed a lot,
Receptionist who is rude, who knows nothing about serving and listening to customers.
Just ruined dinner and I promised I will never give chance again to this taps.
Simone gave us good service and allowed us to enjoy our time together. The food was very good and the wine list is very reasonably priced. We enjoy Taps!
We come here for brunch every other Sunday and we love this place. Such a good variety of food and I LOVE the Dover sole they serve! If you haven’t been here....you’re missing out.
We made reservation for s special birthday celebration. The restaurant did nothing to make us feel as if it was a special occasion at all, no mention of happy birthday or a complimentary desert or anything, and we did even mentioned it to the chef. On top of that, the food was just ordinary (we ordered Chilean Sea Bass). The service was just ok as I mentioned above.
Our server Amanda was very attentive and the food was great!
5 stars (hands down) for the TAPS burger. The burgers are so filling, juicy, good taste, and for a not-so-burger person like me, I could gobble it up by myself.
However, the restaurant offers other dishes, and this is where the stars decrease... sadly.
I had the yellowtail hamachi appetizer, lobster bisque, house salad, shrimp scampi, salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, and chocolate bread pudding.
Food is SALTY! Beware. The lobster bisque was salty. The salmon was salty. The brussels sprouts were extremely salty. Why is everything have to be so salty?! I wanted to complain to the chef to stop making his dishes so salty.
The hamachi appetizer is quite oily and the fish isn't completely raw, but slightly cooked.
The shrimp scampi was alright, but if you're not into creamy dishes, I would stay away because there's a lot of cream in this dish. I had so much left over that I needed several slices of bread to clean the plate. I think the portion between the noodles and the cream is a bit disproportionate.
The garlic mashed potatoes were alright. It wasn't too garlicky, but it was quite a lot! Portion was about 2 heaping scoops of mashed potatoes.
For dessert we had chocolate bread pudding with ice cream. Chocolate bread pudding was a bit overly sweet for my taste. I wish it was more "bread budding", but the chocolate was quite overpowering.
Warning! If you ask for bread for the table, go easy on the balsamic/oil/herb/garlic mixture!! It's very garlicky! (avoid on dates :)
We had a great evening. Loved the round tables instead of square for a group of six. Service was slow, but maybe that's because they were short-staffed for a Sunday night and had at least 2 larger groups. We enjoyed the menu option with the voice of 3 items plus discount on bottle of wine. I enjoyed the salmon; however, it was extremely spicy and there was no indication on the menu that it was a spicy item. Overall, the food was very good as was the quality of service, if not the speed.
Sunday brunch is overpriced. And very odd rule not to turn on TV till 12:30 which end up starting on 1PM. We were hoping to watch some football but big screen in front was OFF
We happened onto TAPS Fish House & Brewery while we were staying overnight in Anaheim during a road trip. Lucky us! The food was very good, nicely prepared and the three-course menu was a great deal. The chocolate bread pudding was worth it! It was a great meal after a long day of not eating much "real" food and the atmosphere was casual but upscale. All around a great place, would definitely recommend TAPS.
Just a little too noisy for our group meeting. Would be nice to have a quieter area for our dinner meeting so that we can hear each other talk. But, that's not your fault. Next time we'll specifically ask for a quieter section, but service was very excellent and accommodating for separate checks. The Poke Don is a little overdressed so you can tame that down a little. The Tacos and Spinach Dip was awesome...definitely order that again. Wish you offered pitchers of beer, but that's OK. Keep it classy!
The food was beyond amazing! So many different things to choose from! The highlight for me of course were the crab legs, the dessert station and bottomless mimosas :) Service and atmosphere were great as well!! Make sure to make reservations!
Fantastic food and exceptional service! Great for lunch, happy, hour, dinner, or brunch. I love this place!!
Waiter did not pay attention to us and would leave for extended periods. I asked for my food to be placed in to go containers but he forgot. Overall the waiter was a very poor server and inattentive.
We came to TAPS to celebrate our anniversary. I have the macadamia nut encrusted rockfish which was slightly salty for my taste, but otherwise very good. I went to salad I had lots of fresh blue cheese, and was delicious.
I has been have the devil cat 16 ounce pork chop, which was amazing. It was to see and tasty and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
Good just to hang out on date night with my hubby! Good food
great place, good food, good service.
We wished the food was better. Left something to be desired. The service was great, our server Jason was very attentive and helpful. We thought his serving was really what put the dinner experience above and beyond a mediocre dinner.
