This restaurant is permanently closed. Bienvenidos! Welcome to Tapas Flavors of Spain. Tapas opened in Newport Beach in 1992 and offers you authentic Spanish Cuisine and our famous Flamenco shows. With a great history of entertainment, we offer Flamenco shows every Friday and Saturday and Tango on Wednesdays. For late night dining, try some of our traditional Spanish Paella, Baked Empanada's, Churro's con Chocolate or patio Taco Bar. You can come and have some of our famous homemade Sangria or Mojitos while you dance to Salsa DJ's and Bands in our nightclub, Fri - Sun. We are located near the Orange County Airport.

We liked the entertainment a lot and the food was overall good, the service was good, however the manager was extremely rude and for this reason our experience was below expectations.

I had a really bad experience this time I came to have dinner with my wife.
The service was good but the food was very expensive and the taste not good at all for what I paid, I had the seafood paella and I did not like it at all.
Then dancing time came and the air conditioning was not working, they had a couple of fans running but just circulating the really hot and humid air inside the restaurant, once music started and people started dancing, it just got worse, I was soaking wet from perspiration and was not able to enjoy my dinner with my wife or the salsa dancing which my wife an I love doing every Saturday night for the last 10 years, this was one dancing night that we won't forget and not for the good reasons, I was so disappointed.

I would give this place a better review but we got kicked out around 10 PM because we looked below the 21 age mark not very happy about that .

We had a delightful meal of cold and hot TAPAs, delicious Sangria. We liked the small tables, candlelight, music, and , of course, the Flaminco dancers!! We sat right at the edge of the dance floor and could see and hear all the entertainment. We ordered the pitcher of Sangria, which was very large and full of fruit! I think I liked the crab and Spanish sausage balls best -- but they were all large helpings and my husband and I shared 7 different ones throughout the evening. My only disappointment was that they did not recognize our wedding anniversary- the reason for our visit-- but they did call out all the birthday celebrations by name-- there were a lot of them! Good place for a group birthday dinner!!

Went for the Flamenco show, dance lessons, and dancing. All was excellent except the instructor did not show up in time to provide the lessons, he showed up as the band was getting ready to play and dancing had already started. The lesson was the main reason my date wanted me to take her there since she is a beginner at salsa. We still had a fun time.

It wasn't tapas, it wasn't Spanish, and it wasn't good. In fact, it wasn't edible. The Sangria tasted like off brand grape juice. The glass of wine came from a bottle that had been open for at least two weeks. The cheese and charcuterie plate looked like it came out of one of the packages from Costco, but had been left on the plate in the refrigerator a couple of days. The Spanish tortilla seemed ok, but with the observations of the other food coming out of the kitchen we did not want take a chance. The guitarist was great, but he didn't stay long either. STAY AWAY!

The place is a dump - the tablecloth had food stains all over (we had reservation at 7-30, place opened at 6 and it was mostly empty), there was food on the floor under the chairs and a table. The food would be OK if it would be cooked according to the menu: poached salmon (stuffed roasted piquillo peppers) wasn't pouched, it was overcooked. My husband got skirt stake medium rare - it came out as a rock, although it was very flavorful. The waitress forgot one testing wine order (which could happen) - but after 15 minutes of waiting in an empty restaurant for the order to finally arrive I went to the bar and asked for it. The excuse was "they (?) were looking for the bottle" (?!). Salsa dancing instructor did not show-up (Saturday night). Waitress could not split the bill and charged us partially for the other party - I had to use my calculator to give her a correct number. Otherwise it was fun - if you like salsa dancing and do not need a lesson.

It was ny first time there and I have to say I was a little skeptical about keepig my reservation after reading many negative reviews.
But I have to say that my experience was completely the opposite. I had a awesome time the food was great and the service was outstanding.
I would definitely go there again..

We maid reservation on line and when we got their place was closed. Call several times but no answer or recording stating that they will be close on Easter Sunday. Very disappointing.

We went there mostly for the dancing which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was ok but nothing to write home about and service was not so hot. Had to go to the bar to get our bottle of wine opened as the waitress put the bottle on our table and never opened it

I was part of a large group that attended last weekend for dinner and dancing. The entertainment was wonderful but because the waitress was so lousy it ruined the evening. My meal was delivered about 15-20 minutes after everyone else in our party received their meal. It came cold. The waitress never came back to check on our table. It took another 15 minutes to track her down to complain about the meal. It took another 25 minutes before I got a replacement. When it came to getting the check…. it took over an hour before our initial request. When she finally delivered the check and we opened it….it had the total amount due written with a circle around it. It was not itemized. Who does that????? Very frustrating!

Ive never written a bad review before. As a business owner I feel uncomfortable and bad about doing it. This Im sure is very embarrassing for them or at least it should be. Last week was my birthday and I was looking for a Tapas restaurant. The reviews were bad on yelp, but the menu looked good, there was dancing and it was close to home. I made a reservation online for 8 people at 6pm. When we arrived the doors were locked. We were very confused thinking maybe open table had their hours wrong etc. While standing in the parking lot for 15 minutes deciding where we would go for dinner at 630pm without a wait, a cook opened the back door. We asked him if they are open and he said not until 6pm, but it was 630 pm already. Another cook explained that there was no one there from the front of house to open the restaurant for us. It was very disappointing and made our night complicated as I had friends meeting us and we had to change plans last minute. At 640pm as we were leaving, a woman got out of her car and apologized for being late saying she would open for us. It was uncomfortable and we were annoyed and already decided to leave. It is pretty bad that there was not a manager, bartender, or server or buser there early enough to at least let us in and pour a class of wine etc. If you allow reservations it is beyond unacceptable to not have staff there. Staff should be there an hour before you open to set up. Its just bad business.

We've been here before and the entertainment was better this time. The Flamenco dancers and vocals have been hit or miss, but its definitely different for a date night.

The food was good, we had four hot plates that were pretty good - including the gambas, croquettes, wrapped dates, and one with chicken. The dates are awesome.

The service this time wasn't that great even though the place was mostly empty. Our server didn't come back to our table after we ordered the first set of plates, so no refilled drinks or opportunity to order additional plates. Eventually, we got his attention for the ticket and left.

We love tapas so we will go back....when we don't feel like driving farther.

Overall the place is a dump. The restrooms are absolutely disgusting. Service was very slow and at time nonexistent. Several times we had to ask another server to find our server. The food was ok but not great. The show was entertaining and the Spanish music and dancing after 10 pm was fun

I was there during the week, I think this more of a weekend place with music and dancing. I think the food was ok. I the place was very dark and the place looked a bit run down. We were the only people there for dinner. Not sure if I would go back on a weeknight.
